i was reading this thing i found randomly; a paper about young women (i think particularly japanese), yaoi, and pederastry. it was talking about why it is so appealing to young girls and women. a lot of that is bc of repression and like feeling unthreatened and like you can live out fantasies via their existences. but so much is violent and weird. but in a way, since we are told we can’t do anything or are in danger of violence happening through sex naturally, their stories can be safe and romatic.
