Luchino Diruse General HCs

The time has finally come. I have a LOT to say about Luchino. This covers both his survivor and hunter forms, and it might be a bit jumbled because I had so many thoughts to try and organize.

-The exact subject of the Professor’s research is left in the air, but given his focus on venom and poisons, and the necessity of testing them on animals, I’m guessing he worked in toxicology. He likely helped to develop antidotes and other products from the substances he and his colleagues studied—and taught students about these subjects in the university laboratory—as well as had a general interest in reptile biology and genetics.

-While Luchino was a bit too open to self-testing during his venom and toxicology research, he did not willingly take the mutated reptile’s venom. The information provided for Luchino doesn’t specifically say that the venom was forced on him…but Luchino’s experiment report from his first manor game describes him as “Vigilant” and as having a “moderate thirst for knowledge.” He was also the only one to survive, due to his curiosity and his respect for potential danger. Because of these, I find it unlikely that he would let a mysterious, mutating reptile bite him. When he self-tested venom before, it’s said he always had antidotes/antivenoms within reach. This just isn’t a risk he’d take. Additionally, Luchino went missing from the labs where this happened, and Dr. Thompson was never mentioned again, so I think it’s likely there was some sort of struggle immediately after Luchino was bitten. For that, a fight had to have been warranted.

-Eli describes Luchino as cautious, dignified, courteous, and “kinder and more friendly than expected.” You all know I talk about it any time I can, but I state once again that Luchino is a gentleman to most if not all people. His vigilance mentioned earlier makes his intuition rather good, so he can fairly reliably tell good people apart from the bad, and uses that to keep himself a safe distance from trouble. He’s also very open-minded and sees atypical traits and behaviors as interesting more than anything else. He feels secure in his judgement of people, which allows his curiosity for all things to flourish.

-But he’s also obsessed with his work. Sometimes that makes him willing to cut corners. (Once again, self-testing with venom.) Which is how he got himself in his current predicament in the first place. He had some concerns about the intentions of Dr. Thompson asking for his help…but his curiosity for this new and strange reptile overpowered his concerns.

-Luchino is a man of indulgence (indicated both by some of the prior hcs, and his S-tier skin wherein he is Dionysus, a god of pleasure and madness.) He sees no sense in being ashamed of desiring sensual, carnal, or dangerous things. Luscious food, rich wine, mind-blowing sex. He also indulges his thirst for knowledge with hands-on experimentation. But indulgence implies a choice, self-control. Indulgence means giving in to something you typically deny yourself. This is where he and Evil Reptilian really diverge.

-So E.R. is very much still Luchino, personality-wise…but his new, more animalistic nature has made him entirely beholden to impulse. He’s still rather gentlemanly, and still a man-beast of science, but he’s more reactive to aggression/challenges and gives into his desires almost indiscriminately. And several of those desires are very much based in his newfound carnivorousness; he’s one of the most vicious hunters because his instinct screams at him to chase and kill anything that runs.

-The two do get along…but Luchino and he strongly disagree on how good the end results of his biological changes are. E.R. considers all of his changes to be positive; he’s faster, stronger, and still smart as a whip—he’s far more capable, overall. Meanwhile Luchino can look at his Hunter self and see exactly how much of his self-restraint is gone. Luchino thinks the biggest thing separating man from animals is free will, and you can’t truly have that if you’re a slave to your impulses.

-Luchino’s COA skin has what I’m pretty sure is an explosive strapped to his chest, which indicates to me that he’d rather go out in a blaze of glory than lose himself entirely. And as a lot of the A/S tier skins share something with their core character, I assume this trait is the same for regular Luchino. Some people theorize that he’s unbothered by his changes, but I don’t think that’s entirely true. As much as he’s intrigued and excited about the scientific implications of the changes he’s undergone, Luchino DOES NOT want to become a mindless animal, to lose himself entirely. He’d rather die and take his mind and all its knowledge with him than let it waste away.

-He’s a more dominant sort of person, but he’s secure in it and his masculinity, so he’s not overbearing or pushy. Rather, Luchino passively presents as something of a natural leader (if not a slightly removed one) because of his level-headed judgement and work ethic. So people tend to look to him for direction. If they don’t, and if he doesn’t like the person who is leading, he’s fine just stepping away and doing his own thing. He’s always the dominant partner in his romantic entanglements and enjoys taking on a provider role.

-He’s not as reclusive as Alva or Luca, but he is less outwardly social than others. He blends in well with most crowds and paces the amount he speaks when in conversation with others. He’s one of those who prompts others to talk more with thoughtful questions—sometimes just to listen to someone he cares for talk more, and sometimes to subtly get information out of someone.

-Despite a few “mad scientist” tendencies, Luchino isn’t usually hyper focused to the point of damaging his health. He’s typically good about sticking to a regular sleep schedule, stays relatively active, and eats healthy. He’s in good shape despite having a career that keeps you at a desk a lot.

-Supposedly, Luchino played a hand in the “failure” of Dr. Thompson’s “matchmaking” business, and this is what made the man want revenge on him. Luchino expresses concern for this, implying that he doesn’t know for sure if he caused it, but feels bad if he did. As such, I’m under the impression that Luchino was just making some negative commentary about the idea of a “matchmaking service” to their colleagues. Luchino seems to have been likeable and respected, so word got around about his opinion on the matter and the business (likely already struggling) tanked.

Sometimes new places are somehow created and never announced until after a match. Everyone on that team just wakes up there.

You look around as you are placed outside of what looks like a college entrance. The first thing you notice, your clothes are different. A lab coat with goggles on your head like a headband, large black lab gloves, shiny black pants, and luckily decent long boots. You are always amazed when any of the lady survivors flywheel in heels.

When you look at your reflection through the glass door of the entrance, you almost laugh! The costume looks so stereotypical of a mad scientist costume! All you are missing is crazy hair with a white streak.

“(Name)!” You turn to see Lucky Guy dressed in a varsity jacket and the rest of his usual clothes, “You got changed too!”

“Yeah,” He sounds excited but thankfully not loud. “Did you see the others yet?”

He shakes his head, “Here,” Tossing you a flashlight, “Found a chest nearby. I'll go check the football field for a cipher.”

“Do you recognize this place?”

“Yeah, my old college. That building,” Pointing to the one you are in front of, “That's the science building.”

The sound of the bell going off cuts the conversation short. The cheerleader got hit.

“Shit.” You both say before going two different paths to find a cipher.

Cheerleader chaired first, rescued by Lucky Guy. Lucky Guy used a perfume. The cheerleader found Mind’s Eye and got healed. Lucky Guy was kiting Evil Reptilian until he was terror-shocked. You saved Lucky Guy by using the flashlight, but now the lizard man is after you.

One cipher was found and completed by you during this mess.

The part that is most intense when it comes to hunters like Evil Reptilian-- Luchino-- is how Jurassic fucking part this feels when you hear him behind the door of the classroom you are hiding in. His claws scraped against the floor and his tail swayed and sometimes knocked into things in the hallway. You hate it, the way your heart races as you have to carefully move behind a lab table as the door is thrown open and the large creature bends down to enter through the doorway.

You can see him through the glass cabinet above the wall, you grip the dying flashlight in your hand as he jumps onto one of the other tables to survey the room.

He can smell you, his tongue sticking out more accurately, the mix of your scent and the faint scent of his counterpart. When in matches with you both, he cannot sometimes pinpoint who is who, likely a trick the professor uses to have the lizard go for him first.

A flex, as you say, would be another way to put it given both are possessive of you.

The second he leaps forward you flash the light in his eyes causing him to crash into the cabinet wall giving you time to run out of the room.

A cipher pops when you are in the hallway running for your life!

“Why can't you be normal!?” Shouting as you run and dodge a swipe of the machete meant to hit your back, “Stop that!” You make a sharp turn just as he tries to jump in front of you to block your path.

“Saying that will not stop— Agh!” You threw the broken flashlight at him but he blocked it with his arm, “Haha!” The laugh that follows makes you jolt quickly knowing better than to stand around like a deer in the headlights.

The predator chasing the prey adds to his excitement, the palette you drop does nothing but get him closer. Your flywheel helps you try your next plan as you remove your lab coat and vault through a window into another classroom. A burner is on as it makes whatever is in these glasses of various shapes and sizes burn.

“Back off!” You burn your coat and use it to keep him at a distance.

It is always fun going against you, this will of yours to live never dying down, snatches the coat out of your hands but you start throwing the mysterious chemicals-filled glasses around not giving a damn.

The mindset of: “If I am going out I'm taking you with me” is admirable.

Luchino can smell it is just water and food coloring, nothing harmful else he would have panicked. Not only for himself but for you too.

Though he is hunting you, you are still important to him.

A cut across your chest ripping into clothing and flesh, he is doing his job and you fight as expected of you.

Wounded. You didn't use that ability to give yourself a second wind.

He can taste your blood and sweat, the fear though is lacking. Good, he prefers you to be brave.

Two ciphers are remaining and you are getting tired, you found a syringe though when Evil Reptilian lost you for a second in the basement level. He downed you but you used your ability to get back up.

It will be a long while before you can use it again and hopefully by then the ciphers and exit gate will be open.

Hoping as he has the advantage of jumping here in this odd basement.

Did Mad Eyes make this!? You have to be careful not to get snagged by something or the steam from the boiler disorienting you.

Scraping of claws on metal is freaking you out and fear is finally kicking in. Fear makes you… Not so smart and you scream when you fall and feel yourself get lifted and then tossed into something. It was like being a ragdoll for a brief moment. You fight to get out of this weird placement in the wall but all it gets you is the attention of the hunter on the other side.

You jerk when his large hand grabs your leg and attempts to pull you out of the hole in the wall.

“This is stupid!” Stupid and the making of a bad joke. “Luchino help!” Because you do not like this and if anyone is going not be weird about this it would be him.

You think.

He tries again by tugging from your waist but stops when all that does is make the device keeping you in this strange wall tighten.

“There may not be a way for me to force you out.” You hear him say while his hand shifts to your back just above your ass. Being bent over with no way to look behind you is making you very aware of what is touching you.

“You don't sound too worried about it.” You kick at him when his claw tugs as the waistband of your pants.

“Why should I? You can remain here while I deal with your teammates.”

Shit. You try getting out of this but all that does is give the Evil Reptilian a show of your ass wiggling in front of him.

Tempting.

Would not be the first time he had you, comes with the territory of your relationship with his counterpart. Shared emotions and all. You do not mind, the first time it scared you naturally but you are a very adaptive little human with the bravery of a creature ten times his size. Sometimes you should keep that in check, though hunting you would be no fun if you gave up without a fight. You are no deer, nor rabbit, you are like a snake. Hissing as a warning with your commentary and striking with an object when the warning is ignored. Though he knows you are not above actually biting as once he heard Ithaqua ask the other hunters if ever a survivor has ever bitten them.

“Luchino?” You call out to him, “You know…” His eyes narrow at the way your legs part a bit, enough to hit your intentions, “You could chair me after we explore a little something.” Being cute with your voice as this is not the first time you gave yourself to him during a match. Not like it often, you do have pride but you are also one to do when he least expects to throw him off.

There is a ripping sound, you squealing, and metal being scratched into by claws.

Any day I get to write about Luchino is a good day!

Warning: there is one suggestive comment in here, but it's mostly sfw.

-Creation theory, timelines, and alternate reality stuff really isn’t in his academic wheelhouse, but that doesn’t stop him from being curious and having some thoughts on the situation. He’ll be one of the handful who seek you out early on with questions at the ready, and he’ll spitball theories about your existence with the others of higher education. Unlike the others, though, he mostly focuses on what knowledge you may have about studies on medicine and evolution. If you’re not very well-informed about those fields…his interest in you wanes pretty quickly. As far as he’s concerned, you’re just another face in the manor, not any different from the others. (If you are informed about those topics, though, he wants you at his side constantly.)

-He’s not rude at all to you, though. Luchino doesn’t place much stock in superstition or religion, so he doesn’t fear you, and he’s polite to people who return him the courtesy. But he’s also not going to make a special effort for you unless your brain is worth picking. You’ll have to get to know him the normal way, over time, like everyone else.

-He doesn’t mind if you take interest in him, either. He’s not an easy man to cling to, but if you take comfort in his presence for some reason he’s content to let you linger nearby when he’s not working. Luchino doesn’t go out of his way to stand up for people he’s not close with, but at the same time he won’t stand for people causing any kind of trouble in his presence. It’s annoying, at the very least.

-He’s also very blunt and unabashed by topics other people may by shy about. So aside from Emily, he’s one of the better people ask about health and hygiene concerns. Even if you’re a woman, he’s not embarrassed or ashamed to discuss those things with you. They’re important, after all, and he’s very used to educating other people.

-He’s get a kick out of reptilian/monster-hybrid pop culture references. Godzilla, Ninja Turtles, etc. It’s just ironic, is all. He’s not ashamed of his work in the slightest, but there is a stigma around his existence now. So to hear that the modern world loves thins of his nature makes him chuckle. He’d insist you tell his hunter counterpart about them as well. And I’m not saying to tell them about monsterfuckers…but if you do it’s gonna put some ideas in both their heads.

-He also lowkey likes how filthy some of modern music is. He’s stunned the first time you play some of it for him, but then he just starts laughing about it and asks for more examples. The music itself isn’t always to his taste, but it’s a pleasant-ish surprise to hear exactly how shameless people have become in our time. He always did think people were a bit too prudish about bodies and sex. Just look at him—tiddies out and everything.

-He may ask about your phone after overhearing you talk to someone else about it, but the largest reaction you’ll get is that he’s very disappointed to learn you don’t have an internet connection in the manor. If you did…you might never get your phone back. He’d ask to borrow it constantly and spend long hours pouring over the years of research and development that came after his time. He does, at least, take good care of it.

-He’s intelligent and a fast learner, so he adjusts to any of your technology easily. He’s one of the few in the manor who can use your phone without needing any assistance, which may come in handy during matches.
