Jack Howl Should've Meddled More—
As I look back on the Flopanaclaw Chapter I can't help but feel like Jack Howl should've meddled more/had a better reason not to meddle
How you gonna have an entire character whose sense of justice is so strong that he gets one whiff of a funky smelly smell in a cafeteria full of boys and immediately approach the TWEELS and rips their mysterious briefcase out their hands (a whole battle sequence bruh)
or beefs with his whole dorm and dorm leader about whether they should cheat in magical football with extra steps or not.
Like immediately—he spots the tweels with a briefcase after smelling a smell so rancid and he just walks up to them, demand they show him and contents and just snatches it out of their hand like Floyd and Jade weren't ready to kick his ass.
Not even Leona gives those twins the time of day and ur talking about some random first year pulling up on them so he can eat his food in peace?
In fact, Savanaclaw could've started off strong if they began with Jack confronting Leona about the magift players getting murked leading to an entirely different set of events, especially if Leona dismisses his concerns because his dorm hasn't faced any injuries.
Then, after Leona shows the first year investigation squad how Magift is usually played Jack could've approached him a second time this time finding out that Leona is behind it all.
Jack essentially being a noncharacter with one note agency sucks because he's the one Character you take the most liberties with because he's not based off any Disney characters, and justice being his trademark can open a lot of doors when it comes to NRC and his brand of justice and also world building about legal systems in twst and....
All I'm trying to say is Jack could've been a great character without relying on being in a dynamic.
