dyslexia headcanons time - how different PJO characters tell left from right:

Percy - He doesn’t. Most of the time. When he does he either uses his different colored shoelaces or the pit scorpion scar on his hand.

Annabeth - Bounces her dominant hand to tell which way is right. Also tries to literally just memorize it.

Hazel - Also bounces her dominant hand (but she’s left-handed) and occasionally will use her SPQR tattoo

Frank - Just uses the L-hand method cause he’s literally the only one it actually works for because he’s not dyslexic. 

Piper - Uses her shoes, because I hc that she wears velcro shoes and so will go based on the direction the velcro is pointing.

Jason - Checks the scar on his lip

Leo - Checks moles/freckles on his wrist or the tips of his ears cause they’re shaped slightly differently

Nico - Uses particular freckles on his hands/wrists, random scars, or just asks ghosts

Reyna - Uses her SPQR tattoo, ring, or Aurum and Argentum (since they almost always stand on the same side of her. Because of this she gets particular about gold/silver things being on certain sides of her, and if Aurum and Argentum swap sides she'll get all turned around. She doesn’t like to talk about it.)

Will Solace - Uses particular freckles, though prefers to use cardinal directions over left/right because he can always tell the position of the sun
