For anyone who wanted to watch the Tales of Symphonia Festival 20th Anniversary stream from a few weeks ago, but couldn't get the ticket, I decided to record the entire thing and put it up on g drive. It's been split into different sections and is unsubbed. So, here you go! (This may or may not stay up forever, depending).

Starts off with two character skits, then a concert, the main scenario, some free talk with the VAs, more concerts plus a fan showcase, and a final skit that one day I'm going to translate because it was so adorable and sweet.

Some highlights of the main scenario in particular include: sassy Genis and Raine banter, Presea being precious, Regal teasing a flustered Sheena, Lloyd getting a mini heart attack from Colette, Noishe's dog whines in real time (you won't guess who voices him), a trip down memory lane reliving all of the party members' traumas, cute Flanoir and Altamira deluxe suite reenactments, the audience choosing whether Zelos lives or dies, Colette's VA doing a fistpump of victory for her special scene, Sheena and Zelos sharing one brain cell, extra Mithos dialogue, and actual closure?? between Lloyd and Kratos, all written by Symphonia's scenario writer.

Anyone can feel free to translate, or wait until the DVD is up for preorder. But I had a lot of fun watching this, and think other people will too.

“Sono Saki e” Random Thoughts (Review?)

Phew, this post is long-overdue. I’ve actually had this “review” sitting around in my drafts since May 30 but I wanted to wait till my physical copies arrived (unfortunately, my package took forever T_T). We have had multiple opportunities to listen to the tracks (or at least snippets of them) and of course I also listened to the digital album as soon as it became available. I’ll be honest with you, my initial reaction to the snippets and later the full tracks was rather lukewarm but in the past couple of weeks, most of the album has grown on me. So far my TOP 5 in order of their track listing are “Rapa Nui”, “標 (Shirushi)”, “希望(Kibou)”,“明日を夢見て歌う(Asu wo Yume Mite Utau)” and “Flag”.  Here are some random thoughts on the album as a whole and the individual songs ┗(•ˇ_ˇ•)→

Vocals: I’m not gonna write an analysis on Wakana’s vocals since I obviously lack the technical knowledge for that sort of stuff but I would still like to vent a little. In recent times, Wakana has talked a lot about how she is constantly refining her skills, working with a vocal coach and discovering new ways to use her voice, however, I fail to hear any real results of those efforts. I have to wonder if her vocal coach (or Takebe in his role as producer) are even giving any sort of effective advice because it certainly doesn’t seem like they do. The Japanese mindset probably keeps them from providing proper constructive criticism. This has always been an issue in the Japanese music industry but I am noticing it more now that Wakana, Keiko and Hikaru can no longer compensate for each other’s weaknesses. I don’t mean to bash or anything, you know I would never do that. I can still appreciate their solo vocals and for the most part I definitely enjoy Wakana’s vocals in this album but sometimes I get frustrated when it’s clear that the girls are not reaching their full potential or are using styles that are absolutely unflattering. I mean, who is telling Wakana (and Keiko for that matter) it’s a good idea to over-affect her voice or to sing in a register that is simply too high? Pretty sure this stuff is up to her so I guess it is a conscious choice and no one is guiding her in a better direction. I know for a fact that Wakana is capable of using a fuller, steadier voice but for some reason she often falls back on singing styles that don’t do anything for her and make her sound quite generic or borderline amateurish. It’s a shame...Rant over.

Visuals: The botanical and watery backgrounds/colours fit Wakana’s image perfectly. I wouldn’t say it’s a good match for the theme of the album but I don’t really mind. These are probably not my favourite looks for her but there are still some super lovely shots included in the photobook and lyric booklets. I originally thought all those light spots were a filter but they really used strings of light for the shoot. Not sure yet if I am a fan of the finished look.Something about it doesn’t really work for me.

Bonus material: No idea why they decided to add a DVD instead of a Blu-ray but I am just grateful we got footage from the Christmas live. It’s a solid concert with many good performances so I am happy there’s official footage. Too bad they cut the Christmas songs though, I remember enjoying them a lot. The audio tracks are a nice addition but I think instrumental versions of the album tracks would have been a nicer bonus. The exclusive fan club track is nothing to write home about, wish they had included footage from the after-talk instead or maybe the Christmas tracks.

Editions: As always, I appreciate that we get different booklets for every single edition. Makes it so much more fun and worthwhile to collect different editions. Overall I would day that all versions were reasonably priced for the content we got. And I am glad they once again decided to go for an LP-sized package with a big photobook. They look so good on my Kalafina showcase/shrine. Small nitpick: The quality of the large photobook isn’t what it used to be, it’s much thinner paper now T_T Makes it easier to scan though so I guess it’s not that bad.

Promotion: As far as the promotional campaign is concerned, I would say it’s sufficiently wide-spread on the media front but it feels a little lackluster in terms of in-store presence. Many Japanese fans have complained that the store promo for Wakana’s “Sono Saki e” wasn’t up to par with all the displays that were prepared for Keiko’s “Cutlery”. Thankfully we got the release events which added a bit of hype. Altogether, her performance in the Oricon Charts wasn’t too shabby either (#28) so the marketing team must have done something right. On a side note, I still very much appreciate the relatively high production value of Wakana’s solo works (especially compared to Hikaru’s and Keiko’s stuff). It’s clear that a lot of money is still invested in Wakana so YAY for that.

Overall thoughts: "Sono Saki e” has been a long time in the making so despite my best efforts, certain expectations have been building up. I know of course that getting my hopes up too high is a stupid thing to do because it will inevitably set me up for disappointment but I am only human and after three years of waiting, I was in a serious Wakana drought. However, now that the album is finally here, I feel a surprising sense of indifference (?) towards it. My reaction to Keiko’s latest album should have been indication enough but I think it’s becoming more and more obvious that I am suffering from a serious case of Kalafina-solo fatigue. It seems like I am steadily falling out of love with their solo music which makes me incredibly sad but I guess it was bound to happen at some point. I am not even saying that I dislike the album but there is just a lack of sparks I guess? Objectively speaking, I would say that Wakana’s 3rd album is quite good, I thoroughly enjoy around 60% of it and I’ve been listening to a lot of the songs on repeat. But I am just not as invested as I would like to be. On a side note, is it just me or does the album feel a little too rushed (despite its long production period)? I would have wanted the album to reflect the three years worth of thought and effort that were supposedly put into it but that’s honestly not the vibe I am getting here. I mean, they decided to include an instrumental of one of the tracks AND a literal copy-paste version of a previous album track, that just screams last minute decision to me. I guess it’s because the actual production didn’t start until much later so ultimately, there was a lot of rushing involved but still, it’s a shame.

M1. Butterfly Dream: I feel like everything has already been said about this. It’s fun with the visuals of the PV but without those, the song loses a lot of its charm for me. Even though it’s the leading track of the album, I find it a bit underwhelming, maybe because the melody isn’t really resonating with me? Also, not a huge fan of how Wakana seems to over-affect (if that’s the right word?) her voice during quite a few parts of the song (especially during the chorus) to sound cute/innocent. She sometimes does this for certain types of anisong covers but it’s honestly not the most flattering singing style in my opinion. I guess the outward “cuteness” of the vocals appeals to a wider audience so it’s not a bad thing per se. I mean, there must be a reason why they picked this as promo track for the album (Rating: 2.5/5) M2. Rapa Nui: Definitely the most exciting and refreshing track on the album. The Celtic(?) sound matches Wakana’s voice perfectly. Kinda sounds like something you would hear at a medieval festival. Reminds me a bit of Kalafina’s “Moonfesta” or Hikaru’s “Fili”. Based on the title, I would have expected the song to sound totally different but I am honestly not mad about how it turned out. It’s great that they used the Rapa Nui language for some lines, spices up the whole thing. I initially believed that the song could have benefited from a stronger chorus but by now I’m literally obsessed with it, can’t get the melody out of my head :P Some of those ultra-high notes don’t sound pleasant to my ears but it’s not on a level where it takes away from my enjoyment. Contemplated taking half a point off for it but at the end of the day, it’s not worth it. It’s such a superb track (Rating: 5/5) M3. 標 (Shirushi): Sometimes this song doesn’t really affect me all that much and other times it makes me cry like a baby (especially when Wakana sings “この先も力に歌うから”). In many ways, it reminds me of “Ai no Hana” which has a similar theme and is one of my favourite tracks from Wakana’s first album but I need to hear it live to get the full experience. The same is the case for “Shirushi”. And I also have to be in the right mood for it. I am not 100% sold on the melody but Wakana’s vocals are gorgeous and the emotion she puts into her singing is just out of this world. On top of that, we have beautiful lyrics and a precious backstory, I can’t help but give this song a high rating (Rating: 4/5) M4. 希望 (Kibou): With the exception of “Rapa Nui” this is probably the only track that instantly clicked with me. Even when we just got a snippet of it, I immediately fell in love. The melody is just the right amount of cheesy in a good way, it hits me right in the feels. I think it comes closest to a standard power ballad or a 90s pop ballad. I am a huge sucker for those and it is obviously the type of song I love to hear from Wakana. Is it just me though or could Wakana have used a more flattering singing style for the chorus? She is going very high and it tends to sound a bit strained. For me, this is on the very edge of sounding screechy, a little higher, a little flatter and I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it. It’s clearly a challenging track but not necessarily something that Wakana can’t handle imo. Really curious how she will be handling those parts during a live performance. Hopefully she can tweak her style a bit to make it more suitable for the song. Another tiny nitpick is the bland bridge, I wish it had a little more oomph, it’s neither here nor there but oh well, I am so smitten with this song that I can’t really focus on any of the negative aspects (Rating: 4.5/5) M5. 殻 (Kara): Who thought it was a good idea to do a “Tsubasa 2.0.”? I really wish they would have come up with something else. They had more than enough time to look into other options. I understand the intention of course, “Tsubasa” is solid and highlights some of the grittier parts of Wakana’s voice but that doesn’t warrant a blatant rip-off. Enough complaining though, I feel like I am way too harsh on “Kara”. On its own merits, it’s actually quite fun and yeah, just like its predecessor it works flawlessly to highlight Wakana’s voice in a different way, I like her more feisty singing style. Objectively speaking, I really can’t fault this song but it still doesn’t quite hit the spot for me. Thankfully, Wakana’s singing makes up for it (Rating: 3.5/5) M6. そのさきへ(Sono Saki e)～Interlude～: The melody is not striking enough. I am usually a sucker for a good instrumental piece but this one falls a little flat unfortunately. Wakana keeps saying that she cried when she first listened to the demo but I really wonder why...However, I will have to say that the gorgeous piano playing of this interlude does appeal to me more than the melody in the normal version of the song (Rating: 2.5/5) M7. KEMONO feat.清塚信也: I’ve said it before and I will say it again, every cell in my body is rejecting this type of song. I know that’s a me-problem and I feel horrible judging Wakana’s work based on such a personal preference.This reminds me way too much of some of Keiko’s city-pop (or whatever) tracks. The singing is too fast, there is no proper flow, the melody is all over the place, it’s just outright chaotic. I am sure there are people who can appreciate this new experimental style but I am unfortunately not one of them. I generally don’t like giving low ratings but it is how it is, please know that this is purely subjective (Rating: 1/5) M8. 明日を夢見て歌う(Asu wo Yume Mite Utau): The melody right at the beginning and sprinkled in-between the verses is what initially attracted me to the song, so pretty. However, the rest of the song didn’t leave a huge impression when I first heard it during the Christmas concert. I remember I compared it to “Boku Dake no Stage” because it was also composed by Takebe and I thought it was similarly bland. I realise now that this was a very unfair comparison because those songs have absolutely nothing in common. “Asu wo Yume Mite Utau” is much better imo and aligns more with my preferences in terms of music style. Maybe a comparison to “Toki wo Koeru Yoru ni” would have been better even though Takebe didn’t compose that one... Anyways, after letting the song marinate for a while, I’ve surprisingly come to love “Asu wo Yume Mite Utau”. I’d even go as far as to say it has become one of my favourite tracks from the album. The arrangement is lovely and so are the lyrics. Also adore Wakana’s singing here (Rating: 4/5) M9. Flag: This is probably the most Kalafina/FictionJunction-esque track on the entire album so I understand why it is so popular among YK/Kalafina fans. Personally, I have never been the biggest fan of YK’s more generic anisongs so this track initially didn’t impress me all that much, it was just okay for me, nothing too outstanding. But after hearing it performed live multiple times, it has significantly grown on me. It’s a really solid song and it works perfectly with Wakana’s voice. Even though it might not be the type of music I naturally gravitate towards, it’s still a banger. Especially when you take the Kalafina nostalgia into account. Fun fact, the most recent version with Sakurada has made me add 0.5 points to my initial rating, it was just so good (Rating: 4/5).  M10. そのさきへ (Sono Saki e): Ughhh, I really wanted to love this song but so far my attempts have all failed. I don’t know why it’s so hard for me to get into it. I mean, there must be something to love about it when I hear Wakana rave about the demo tape as if it were the best thing since sliced bread. What exactly is it about the melody that made her cry so much? It still baffles me that this was written by the same person who was responsible for “Kinmokusei” which I absolutely adore. There are some tiny similarities but all in all, “Sono Saki e” feels rather uninspired in comparison to “Kinmokusei”, at least in my opinion. Hearing it live during the release event has also not done anything to make me appreciate the song more. I am afraid it is a lost cause... (Rating: 2/5) M11. あとひとつ (Ato Hitotsu): Nothing much to say here aside from the fact that I adore this song and I am really glad that it’s finally included in an official release. I prefer to hear it live but the studio recording is surprisingly touching too. So understated and yet so charming. I like how Wakana keeps referring to it as prayer, it’s a fitting description. Perfect delivery, as always (Rating: 5/5)

You knew better than to fool around with co stars, you had seen enough issues crop up in the time you've been trying to slowly make your way into the industry that you know it's a bad idea. You swore to yourself after the last time you would never date or fool around in any capacity with someone you are starring in something with. Then you met Austin Robert Butler and everything changed. 

He was always on the outskirts of your knowledge, the guy who you've seen in all these shows but not someone you connected with a guy almost a decade older than you. The irony of your age difference didn't escape you, how could it, a nearing 30 year old would be pretending to be in love with an almost 21 year old when the real people had almost the same difference albeit in a creepier fashion. The idea of you getting the part is not one you considered in depth, you had seen your competition and when you arrived at the building you had actually run into Olivia Dejonge who looked like something had maybe gone wrong. You didn’t dwell on it, because you knew that way would lead you to messing up and this is important. You had to focus on the task at hand, because truth be told you were probably going to be crushed if you didn’t get this part. You might not look identical to Priscilla but then again, from what you remembered of Austin and from what you’ve seen even with dyed hair, he didn’t exactly scream Elvis Presley to you. In fact he kind of screamed the nervous unassuming guy that should be famous because all young girls love him but there’s also about fifteen of him that pop up every few years. He was pretty cute though and maybe that might have influenced your decision to audition. You wanted the part but were far too nervous until they announced the lead and what was the harm in shooting your shot.

You opened the door slowly and peeked your head in to see Baz and Austin talking about something. They both stopped and turned to look at you, Baz with a smile and Austin with a head tilt that you felt was mildly questioning, but with how his eyes roamed your body when you fully stepped into the room maybe you read the questioning look wrong, perhaps it was just initial confusion. You started to fiddle with your ring with a dove on it before anyone spoke.

 “Y/N!” Baz called, motioning for you to sit in the chair in front of him and Austin. “Come in, I was just telling him about you.” 

 Your lips quirked up into a small smile, “all good things, right? I don’t think I’ve done anything that embarrassing lately."

 “All good things, Y/N, I don’t think Baz has it in him to say a bad thing about any of the people who’ve come in today.” Austin answered before Baz really even had a chance to open his mouth. He still stared at you over his glasses as if you were the most fascinating person on the planet though and from what you had seen, that wasn’t usually his MO, honestly the whole thing was kind of weird. But you figured it might have just been the way he was sizing up his potential romantic leads. You had to shake your head for a moment before looking at Austin again. 

 “I don’t know if I should take that to mean a good thing or not. But if from what I’ve heard about you Mr. Luhrmann, I’m in for a bumpy ride if I get the part, maybe it’s just your way of buttering us all up.” You quipped, trying to not stare at Austin. 

 The director grinned and laughed slightly. “I’m afraid you might have caught me, Y/N, but with any luck I’ll still be able to show you that it’s not nearly as bumpy of a ride as some would lead you to believe.” 

 You couldn’t help the way you shrugged as you sat in the chair opposite of Austin. “I’m going to hold you to that if that’s the case.” You paused and raised an eyebrow at Austin. “Do I have something on my face, Mr. Butler? It’s a little rude if you didn’t tell me.”

 He opened his mouth once, twice, and then swallowed as he looked you up and down before he finally answered his voice sounding a little deeper than it had been when he previously spoke. “Sorry, you’re- You’re the first girl I’ve seen today that just made me pause. And your skirt rode up a little. If you want me to point out something that’s wrong.”

 Your eyes widened as you opened your legs just a bit to shimmy the offending fabric down. “I’m so sorry, this was the first thing I grabbed. Should have known better. Pants, always the better option.” 

 Austin for his part let out a low chuckle when he responded back that you swear sounds more like Elvis Presley than is necessarily possible for someone who you know regrettably is from California. “Not when you want something underneath them.”

 "Who told you that you had to take off pants if you want something underneath them, Daddy. I’d hate to see what happens when you can’t get them off.” You mouthed off quiet enough that Baz couldn’t hear you and but Austin could. You looked him up and down before settling on his lap to attempt to prove your point. This was weird. This feeling was weird, you’re not usually this mouthy to anyone, let alone someone who- no, Austin Butler is not a dom, no, you’re just being bratty to a sub or a switch or maybe someone who isn’t even the scene.

 Baz looked between his two potential leads and tilted his head. “I want to see how this would look- go with it Austin.” Baz said, motioning for the two of you to begin. 

 All the lines in the beginning were yours, you knew this going into it but you had been prepared to just walk around saying them, you had a whole motion that you had planned. You adjusted it though, careful to not hit Austin as you did. But not hitting Austin required looking at him for an extended period of time and that was beginning to be a problem as your eyes wanted to focus on his fingers- God they were long- on his lips and was he always this attractive. Focus.

“He’s just really lonely and quite frankly so am I. And they didn’t really know what to say after that so I went to bed.” You leaned a little up into Austin’s lap when you said the line knowing fully well that wasn’t in the script but it felt right to do. Austin was looking at you in a way you weren’t too sure how to describe. It’s acting but there almost feels like there’s an added bit to it, that it’s just Elvis looking at Priscilla but it’s also Austin looking at you and- you could suddenly understand how she would fall head over heels for a guy ten years her senior. How she could be so obsessed with him and how even after his death she could still be so linked that she's not Priscilla Beaulieu she's Priscilla Presley. 

Austin huffs out a laugh as Elvis and leans down, almost close enough to kiss you and reaching out almost like he wants to pull you in for one. “I have never met anyone like you.”

You were never made to be a housewife, you've told Austin this on more than one occasion. Instead, what greeted him was his girlfriend- the woman he fell in love with when the world went to shit, he became a goddamn recluse for six months, and everyone had let things fall by the wayside- in her pjs doing the dishes with these stupid little green gloves that in your own words- "kept me from getting dirty while cleaning".

All Austin could think about when he saw you that way is making you as dirty as he could. His teeth bit at his lower lip, picturing you taking off those gloves, making a show of it as he just sank to his knees and showed you just how much he appreciated your effort to keep the place clean. In fact, that had been what he decided to do the moment he wrapped his arms around your waist and you had let out a small gasp at his clothed erection.

It got worse after that, with him finding every excuse to just watch you clean and you finding that you didn't mind. The first thing you do when you get home is stalk Austin or more accurately you looked at a few- no more than 10- gossip blogs to try and check the status of Austin's relationship to Vanessa. It should worry you that your reaction upon reading that they broke up a couple months ago is sheer relief. Yes, maybe once upon a time the idea of being with a guy in a relationship didn’t phase you but you learned your lesson like a good girl and knew that you were better than being the side chick. You also knew that most of the time when you were the side chick it was because the guy was an asshole, but truth be told that was honestly most men. Maybe including Austin, but your mind hadn’t quite decided on him beyond being mildly mortified at what happened. 

You had expected to hear something from Baz sooner rather than later but it took a full week before you got the call with him telling you that you had gotten the part.You put the phone on mute before letting out a shout of victory before unmuting it again and telling him thank you as he told you he planned on the first table read being about a week from now. Thankfully you hadn’t made any plans, so it was no real problem. The call ended without too much fanfare beyond your initial excitement and within about 5 minutes your phone dinged with an email containing the script. If you happened to dance while printing it out in your apartment no one could judge you. 

The week long lead up to the table read had you trying to make arrangements to stay in Australia for the foreseeable future instead of your New York apartment. In between calls to iron out all your tiny details of getting most of your life transferred clear across the world you’d read the script. Everyone knew how Elvis’ story went so it’s not like anything in it was too new to you but you still found yourself enraptured enough that you audibly gasped while on the phone with someone causing them to have to ask if you were alright. Not your proudest moment.

Soon enough though you found yourself on a plane to Australia and in a car heading to the studio. You weren’t nervous before but the closer you got to the studio the more you felt your brain buzzing and your foot becoming jittery, tapping to an unknown rhythm. You took deep breaths, trying to steady yourself as you toyed with your ring. There was no need to be nervous. You had impressed Baz, you were a phenomenal actress. So what if Austin was going to be there and he had known you were going to be there before you did. So what? It was fine, it was going to be fine. 

“That’s Cilla. That’s my Priscilla.” You bit your lip remembering hearing that through the door before- you weren’t going to think about that, you were not going to think about being on your knees in front of him, being on your knees with his cock in your mouth. This was going to be a problem, you already knew it which is what has you groaning into your hands as your uber driver pulls up to the studio to drop you off. “You going to be okay, ma’am?”

“Y/N.” Austin says softly and a little breathlessly when he looks up at the noise of the door opening. Your heart skips a beat when you look up to see what he looks like. It’s not a Boho Elvis look this time. No, instead he went with something more put together, a simple white shirt half unbuttoned and black jacket with black slacks. Of course, the headband on his head and the glasses made it seem a little more soft, a little warmer and more gentle than it had any right to be. Truth be told, it had the tension leaving your body the longer you looked at him.

“Austin.” You smile slightly before giving him a little wave and tilting your head. “You’re here early.”

He laughs. “Yeah, if you ever meet Denzel Washington- promise, not trying to name drop, Dove- but if you ever meet him he’ll tell you it's a thing I do because I did it during Iceman Cometh. Started when my mom would drive me to auditions and now that I can drive myself around or call an Uber, it’s just stuck. Allows me to meditate on things. Focus myself.”

For not the first time since you did the chemistry read, you’re struck by how your brain just finds Austin fascinating. You have had one view of him and here he was turning it on its head- turning you on your head. It’s strange but you feel as if you might have found a fellow actor who might understand how you are. It’s method acting, but it’s not, it’s just allowing yourself to fall into a role and allow yourself to be in the moment as this person. And while you were running late according to your own time table, Austin and you were the only people there for the read. Even if you hadn't been on your knees for him not even two weeks prior, you’d have found his dedication a little attractive. 

“I get it, Austin.” You twirl your dove ring as you speak. “I do the same thing. Though I’m normally the first person in the room. Didn’t know I’d have competition. Especially since I wanted the seat you’re sitting in.”

“You could sit next to me.” He pats the seat next to him with a grin as his voice pitches down just a bit. “Gotta have my best girl by my side. My ‘Cilla.”

You don’t normally laugh very easily but the sincerity in his voice makes you chuckle as you walk to take the seat next to him. “Your ‘Cilla. Guess that makes you my Elvis.” You pause and sit down, making sure your dress doesn’t ride up as you do. “My King?”  

Austin’s eyes are focused on your thighs and your ass when you sit down and you notice but you choose not to comment just yet. You’re teasing and you know it. You’re being a brat and you know it. You are suddenly aware that you have no underwear because you forgot it in your rush to get out of your apartment early. You feel faintly like an idiot with this knowledge but your face does not betray any of these things, instead choosing to remain blank, looking at the door as another newcomer comes in. For his part Austin’s only reaction is a slow inhale and exhale before he speaks. “Well it’s not Mr. Butler if that’s what you think. Something that starts with a d.”

I’m going to start posting my daily AkkAyan scenes on here as well and I want to put the old ones up so I’ll randomly post those as well I guess.

Tumblr isn’t letting me add the video to the post so the scene is the pin scene in episode 12.

It’s Day 119 of missing AkkAyan counting from when the eclipse ended. Today’s scene was hard to choose because with the news of Our Skyy filming and all the new photos from the dvd box sets I am overflowing with emotions about them.

I chose this scene because of a comment Ayan makes when they are exchanging pins. He says, “It’s like we’re exchanging wedding rings,” and with special episodes upcoming where anything could happen it makes me think about an AkkAyan proposal. I definitely think at least one of the Our Skyy couples will get engaged, they did it with the first one. And one couple is already engaged so I’ll continue to foolishly think it could be AkkAyan next. Ayan seems like the sappy kind of person who would buy promise rings. Either way I hope there is some sort of reference to the pins in the Our Skyy episode. If it doesn’t take place at Suppalo then what is the little thing they do for eachother to replace the pins? Could it be the earring we see in Akk’s ear in the Our Skyy trailer or is that just an oversight from GMMTV? I’m not sure but I can dream.

Anyways, back to the scene. It’s truly an iconic one. There’s no shortage of parallels between AkkAyan earlier and later in the show but this one is specifically shown. Flashing back to the first time making the contrast in feelings immensely clear. The fear and confusion in Akk’s eyes so intensely different from the obvious love and affection in the present. Akk’s confidence in their relationship as a whole is beautiful to see. Referencing the “Last time” like it’s a happy memory for them to share rather than a time where they were both hurt and angry. He doesn’t make any kind of protest when Ayan mentions the wedding rings and you can feel the love and comfort sparking between them.

I miss them so much, more and more every day I can’t wait to see them soon.

Leo: Very excited about getting to spend his first Halloween with you. Pulls out matching skeleton onesies for you both to wear around the house. You both decorate the apartment with pumpkins and ghost lanterns as he puts on his spooky music playlist. He helps you decorate cookies that he’ll give as treats to his friends. Will be more of a distraction than any help though because he takes about a hundred photos of you and pulls you away to dance with him every song that comes on. Rory: Will call off work/have someone take his shift at the library to spend the whole day with you. Wakes up early to make you breakfast. Makes waffles for you in a skeleton shaped waffle maker and makes a fruit and vegetable charcuterie board where he makes the fruits and veggies look like little pumpkins, spiders and ghost. Basically spends half the day in the kitchen because he ends up helping you make apple cider. Sits with you at the dining table drawing cute spooky little characters to put in the candy bags you are making for trick or treaters. Will watch scary movies with you so he has an excuse to sit close to you and if you get to scared, he’d be more than fine with you needing to hold his hand or hide your face in his chest. He’ll blush and try to act unbothered by it while pulling you even closer to him.

Milo: Doesn’t really care about doing much for the day, he’s fine just spending it alone with you. Will pick up Halloween themed donuts from a bakery nearby and buys you one of those fancy tumblers that’s decorated with cute little black cats in witches hats. He lets you sleep in when he gets back and he’ll sit on the couch and flip through the channels on tv to occupy himself. Chuckles at your disheveled bed hair when you finally wake up. He’ll tell you he bought you some treats and nods to the kitchen. He can tell you are happy by the way you practically skip out the room. You return a moment later, one hand clutching your cup and the other a donut covered in green sprinkles as you plop down beside him. Purposely puts on a horribly rated slasher film to watch with you. And he almost…almost wants to tell you about the amount of sprinkles covering your face but chooses to leave you and sprinkle covered face alone for his own amusement.

Brooklyn: Delighted to share in Halloween festivities with you. Brings you breakfast in bed and a huge bouquet of dark colored flowers, an array of roses in black and orange intricately woven together with fake spiders and cobwebs decorating them and a skeleton hand brooch. Makes tea for you both in matching mugs in the shape of pumpkins. Will hand you yours and press a kiss to your forehead as he settles in the bed next to you. Spends the morning watching black and white films before getting up and decorating the outside of his mansion. Tobias: Looking forward to showing you off and having fun with you. Determined to scare you at least once before the days over. Waits for the perfect moment where he knows your guard will be down and he’ll get the reaction he’s hoping for. Is extra affectionate to not raise suspicion. Once you get up, he’s jumping off the couch and pulling out this deformed bloody mask he picked up on the way home. He kept it in the bag the whole time because it freaks him even just looking at the thing. But, he slips it on and waits in hiding. He listens for your footsteps, jumping out in front of you screaming “Boo!” Laughs at the way you scream and jump in front of him, it has him laughing so hard he’s doubling over. Feels a little bad when he notices your pouting face as you poke him in the chest and call him mean. He takes the mask off and pulls you in for a hug as he kisses your cheek. He says he’ll make it up to you and he’ll make candy apples with you. He thinks that’s enough to make amends but he’s wrong. You’ll get him back for this, you’ll make him sit and watch the scariest films you can think of to freak him out.

Couples costume: Joker and Harley Quinn.… or Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf.

Alexei: Very happy to partake in any Halloween traditions you have. Will carve pumpkins and tell you about the history of Halloween. He’ll sip on the pumpkin spice latte you made even though he’s not very fond of sweet things, but will still try it simply because you made it. Wears the Halloween themed sweater you got for him that he plans to wear to work and let’s you take pictures of him in it despite his excessive blushing and awkward posing. Takes a couple of minutes to cuddle with you on the couch before he has to leave. Gives you the jack o lantern shaped plushie he bought to keep you company until he returns homes. Kisses you sweetly and is a bit sad about having to leave for work so early but knows once he’s off he’ll get to spend the rest of the day with you.

The Infinite Blue brain-rot has been heavy these last few weeks. Finally wrote something despite it being months later after discovering the demo back in June. 🥲

And yes, Tobias gets two costume choices because I couldn’t decide and I’m not sure if Milo would watch LOTR with me willingly but if not, I’d try to force him to for the sole purpose of getting him to dress as Aragorn for me.

Also, I know Peter Pan and Tinker Bell aren’t a couple but… Rory as Peter would be VERY cute and I personally would rather dress as Tinks than Wendy 🙈 I know I’d really have to beg Rory to dress up as Peter for me though 😭 but damn it Rory we’d look so cute and the sad part is I know I’d only get one decent picture of him.

And Leo! Leo my beloved! Cutest boi/best boyfriend. 100 percent down for the couples costume choice. It’s not enough for me to want to dress up as Sailor Moon, I need Leo Roselund to dress up as Tuxedo Mask with me too! 1. fashion !! i love fashion!! i like watching videos of outfit pairings, runway shows, or just look through tumblr or pinterest for outfit inspiration. i like watching fashion hauls <3

2. watching new films. i love film and i have such a good time watching movies by myself. im such a letterboxd gal i will always log in my movies and organize my lists by color or by ranking and it's just so fun to log my films and look back on the commentary later on. i will rewatch anything and later search up movie scripts :p

3. collecting bts photocards!! im a jimin collector so i have a full collection of his album pcs (of my choosing, i don't collect every single one only the ones i really like) and im currently in my dvd collection era so that's really fun!! im not active in trading or buying like i was a few months back but it's still fun and im a part of that community <33

4. reading !! i love to read. i've always enjoyed reading and it's what pushed me into the writing world. i have a tremendous amount of love for literature as a whole. i try to set little goals for myself so i can read the way i used to and it brings me solace to read something new that is able to capture feelings i can't bring myself to write.

5. writing of course!! since i was very young i enjoyed writing. i used to write fanfics when i was in middle school and i used to publish on wattpad and other little sites and eventually as my interest in the fandom i wrote for died out, i stopped writing as often. but still, i enjoy writing little poems occasionally and most recently upon returning to the fanfic world due to bangtan, i found myself wanting to write again. it's definitely been a challenge again but it's a great outlet and it allows me to channel my creativity.

6. hanging out with my family & partner. i am very lucky to have an army sibling i can talk to and relate with about bts. we're both fanfic readers and she's my supportive reader and brainstorm friend. i have a lovely partner that is also supportive in the things i like. so anytime im with them is a happy time.

7. drinking hot cocoa or coffee on cold days. i love a hot drink but i enjoy it even more on cold days as it allows me to romanticize my life a little lol

8. walking outside during the fall. i like going to parks and reading under a tree or just laying in the grass looking up at the sky. i can do it alone or with company, it makes me happy either way!

9. listening to music on my CD player !! my partner bought me a CD player when i told them about proof dropping and how some of the songs were not on streaming services so now i have something to play all of my bangtan albums on and listening with my headphones just feels so different. it's definitely nostalgic.

10. smoking weeeeeed. i smoke often and it brings me peace and comfort and helps a lot with my anxiety so i tend to smoke and mellow out but also i enjoy the high it's fun it's a good time (most times than not)

11. playing with my cats! im a cat person and we have a lot of cats here at home and they're so playful and sweet and i like spending time with them and carrying them, letting them nap on me or just rubbing their little heads while they purr on me. they bring me comfort and will always cheer me up when i need it the most <33

12. driving to a good playlist. i don't really like driving but if i'm listening to a nice playlist and it's grey outside or rainy or if it's the morning time and the sun is coming up and the grass is dewy and everything looks golden, then the drive is dreamy and i enjoy my solitude with the music and the scenic drive.

13. bangtan!!!! of course of course they make me happy. they are so sweet and wholesome and bring me so much joy. i don't know what life felt like before them but i know i don't ever want to live that way again. even as they go their own ways, knowing them has been such a great impact. the discovery of this group has brought meaning to my life as im sure others can relate and their music is so healing, so comforting and so sincere. bangtan forever <33 :")

Habits

Do you tend to speed when you drive? Not really. I’m a super chill driver these days; a far cry from when I wanted to speed all the time as a really dumb college student who felt badass with her own car lmfao. I usually let people overtake me now and rarely change lanes.

Do you smoke cigarettes? Haven’t done it since 2020. I can’t say I wouldn’t ever do it again – I still might, socially – but overall the smell bothers me and I never enjoyed the burning sensation down my throat anyway. I also would never buy my own pack.

Does your temper flare a lot? It definitely can, especially when I’m tense or when I’m under mountains of deadlines at work and no one happens to be cooperating.

Do you get emotional easily? Yeah. I just cried over an ad earlier.

Do you get obnoxious when you're drunk? LOL sometimes. My co-workers have since branded me the nickname Bad Robyn who is essentially the person I transform to when I’ve downed a couple of drinks so yep, pretty obnoxious.

Which shoe goes on first? I never think about it, to be honest. Though now that you mention it I do think I have a tendency to put on the left first because my left foot is ever so slightly smaller than my right, so it’s easier to slip on.

Are you lazy? I’m not. I feel like my laziness these days is simply the effect of being burned out, but outside of that I don’t really like staying still and always feel like doing something to maximize my time.

Name one thing you do that people always tell you about. Within my family, I have the tendency to mistakenly refer to Cooper as Kimi. Old habits die hard.

Are you superstitious? Not at all. Drives my Filipino family nuts lol since I always do stuff I’m apparently not supposed to.

Do you get bored with relationships quickly? Nope.

Can you sleep without blankets covering you? Only if it’s hot. Overall I find blankets comfy so it’s ideal for me to have them on when I turn in.

What position do you sleep in? On either side, clutching a pillow.

What do you do when you're angry? I mutter and groan to myself a lot. I also tend to snap, which I’m not proud of.

What do you do when you're sad? I turn off the lights in my room, open the windows, and pick a soothing song to play in the silence (usually from RM’s mono, because that mixtape is just an amazing therapy session on its own). Then I close my eyes and let myself bask in the sadness for a bit until I get a little calmer.

Who do you call when you have a bad day? I don’t like calling people. When I have a shit day I just kinda deal with it on my own.

Who do you wish you could hang out with right now? Oh my god, nobody. I just want to be alone this entire weekend – worked my fucking ass off nonstop and have barely slept more than 4 hours every night this week, all while having to socialize and mingle during the day. This weekend I’m going on full shutdown/hibernation mode.

What was the best vacation you've ever been on? The cruise I took in 2016. Vigan was also great primarily because I spent like a third of my time in museums and ancestral houses.

Have you ever hit a squirrel when you were driving? I have never seen a squirrel (we don’t have any here) but I have also just never run over an animal in general. I did once have a critically close brush with a cat that suddenly darted into the street, but I was able to floor the brakes on time. Fortunately there wasn’t anyone behind me because with the way I halted, I most definitely would’ve gotten rear-ended otherwise.

Did your car ever break down? Only from a dead battery. I also luckily happened to be at a gas station when my car suddenly wouldn’t start, so I was able to get help quick.

What's your favorite thing to do on the weekend? Watch a bunch of BTS stuff as my own form of therapy.

What radio station do you listen to most often? I just use Bluetooth to connect Spotify to my car’s stereo. That’s what I’ve been doing since, like, high school.

Then I feel like I might want to stay on Twitter because I guarantee you people are going to memeify the shit out of the situation, and I’ll be needing that sort of comic relief to deal with the nerves.

Do scary movies make you paranoid when you watch them alone? Yeah, that’s why I never do that. Always need to be with someone when I watch horror movies.

Name one thing you've lied about recently. I was at a whole-day shoot last Wednesday and the production team provided meals for everyone, and I lied when I was asked if I already ate. Not exactly an appropriate situation to inform them my work makes me skip breakfast and lunch, haha.

What is the worst movie you've ever seen? Any overly romantic movie can count as the worst for me, so stuff like Flipped and Me Before You I found super bleck.

Oh hey I just had the wildest conversation with my oldest daughter. She had no idea that dvd and blu ray regions were a thing. I wonder how many other people are also unaware of this?

So just a PSA, for anyone else who didn’t know: region-locked discs are one of the many many lovely ways companies put bullshit DRM into things you buy to prevent you from owning your own things. A dvd or blu ray you purchase has a region programmed into it, and it can only be played on a dvd or blu ray player that matches that region. (Regionless discs and players do exist but they are specialty items. The bulk of what you’re going to find at your regular local electronics or movie store is going to have a region)

The regions are complicated so if you’re super curious you can look it up, but extremely generally US and Canada is region 1/A, Europe is region 2/B, China is region 6/C, and Asia, Latin America, and oceanic countries are split up for dvd regions.

(Ultra HD discs are apparently region free though so there’s that I guess)

What this means is, if you legally purchase dvds in Canada, then later move to Europe, and you didn’t bring your DVD player with you because it’s old and crappy and you thought you’d just buy a new one when you get there, your dvd collection will show an error screen when you try to play any of them.

This being said: yes there are hacks to get around this. Some players have codes you can enter to change the region, and like I said, regionless DVD players are definitely a thing and can be ordered online (or, purchased in my local Chinatown in the bootleg movie store haha). A lot of computer programs can also play discs from any region.

But the point is…. it’s a pain in the ass to have to do the extra work to get around it, when it’s stupid bullshit that shouldn’t exist.

So there you go. If there’s anyone else out there who, like my daughter, never realized dvds have regions because they were never in a position where this was an issue, there’s a little lesson today for you. If you want to buy movies online this something you should definitely keep in mind, I’ve messed up and accidentally bought region 2 discs that I ended up not being able to play before. Haha.

I've been listening to my RVB Mercs/Lolix playlist kinda nonstop for the past couple of weeks and it has me HELLA nostalgic for Red vs Blue.

But I can't help but feel like it's been tainted as a whole by RT's kinda skuzzy turn in the past few years. The way they've treated their talent, the fact they have defended pieces of shit up until someone had to come up with all the receipts as to WHY that person is a piece of shit...all of it has just made it very hard for me to enjoy the series anymore.

It sucks because I love Red vs Blue. It's such a dumb, enjoyable series, especially in the later seasons. I adored everything with the Project Freelancer stuff and then with the Chorus trilogy. I love Felix and Locus but fuck is it hard to enjoy the series without it being in the back of my mind how shitty RT apparently is behind the scenes. And I'm not saying everyone is a piece of shit but they have clearly encouraged a very toxic culture and now I'm afraid to even say I am/was a fan.

It just...sucks.

Because now I have to be conscientious of my consumerism regarding the company. I technically own all the seasons save for the last two or three but it's a pain in the ass having to deal with DVD's. It's not on Netflix anymore so if I WANTED to rewatch them I'd have to either break out my DVD's because I don't want to give them traffic on YT or on their site. :/ And yeah maybe I'm being overly dramatic here but I am really not comfortable giving RT anymore of my cash. I did purchase some of the seasons as bundles through online streaming a while ago so I do have that as an alternative to giving them add revenue on YT. I just don't have seasons 1-5 or anything after the Chorus Trilogy. And yeah I guess I could just buy them through vudu or something like that so RT isn't getting the full profit from it and maybe that's what I will do one day when my nostalgia gets so strong I can't resist going back and rewatching the show.

It's just mired in this bitter taste now. Hell, RVB is how I got INTO Halo as a fandom. I'd always judged it by the rude dudebros shouting expletives and using the N-word in voicechat rep that the series had and just wrote it off. Then I watched RVB and it got me curious about the Halo universe so I read the first tie-in novel and I was fucking hooked. Now Halo is my second favorite sci-fi series outside of Star Wars and it has this AMAZING extended universe with all these awesome books and characters beyond just the Master Chief and I have RVB to thank for my initial hook into the series. And even THAT has been kinda tainted by association. I am still buying Halo novels and one day will own an Xbox again so I can play the newer games etc. And you can DEFINITELY make an argument that Microsoft/343 is 10x worse than RT.

But I guess that's where you have to make your own choices on how you are going to interact with a problematic creator/creative team when it comes to voting with your dollar. And I definitely feel for like say the HP fandom and the struggles they have to face when it comes to JKR being a huge piece of shit. I get it, it sucks.

It just...definitely makes me sad and bummed out I can't support a company I used to enjoy and thought was pretty cool. :/

By arguing I mean that I was forming a very strong case for both the pros and cons of being with him and he was listening and telling me how much he cares about me and how he can't get me off his mind. It's a sick cycle. 

Listening to every word Christopher was shaking his head disgustedly throughout. I threw a pillow and then shortly after a puppy, but he still wouldn't budge except to make sure that Buffy was okay. As I moved around the house pleading my case the pair of them followed me. 

Feeling those judgemental eyes on me, after an hour I stood my ground and ended it. Hey, slow and steady wins the race, right? 

Twisting my hair and pouting my way to an Academy Award, I watched my reflection in the mirror as I spoke. "Goodbye, Big Red. I really do hope that you have a good life, but this is the end of the story for us. It hurts me too much to be your friend and I don't trust myself to support your relationship. Felt amazing to take some power back (even if I sounded like a pretentious loser. Again) but then Big Red responded with, "Give me time, okay? Just give me a bit of time to sort my head and everything out. And stop fucking calling me that." The call ended. 

That was about the time when doubt set in and I no longer wanted to toy with him, I wanted to fight that chick to the death and win back his heart. And by heart I mean his undivided attention. 

"Liv, no." "What?" "Whatever you're thinking you need to stop. The phone call is over, he's gone, and he only said it to keep you dangling." "I'm not an idiot, Chris. It's been long enough. It's not his decision anymore. He can breakup with her tomorrow and it won't change things between him and I. At the end of the day he chose her." "So why are you still staring at the phone?" I paused. I knew exactly why I was, I just didn't know whether I wanted to tell him. "I'm not." "Liv!" "Fine. Because I don't know any more if he's a good guy who is just confused or if he's the type of guy who knows exactly how to play women. He cheated on his wife. This ain't his first rodeo and now a small part of me really wants him to pay for thinking it's okay to treat women this way. But what if...?"

I’m going to start posting my daily AkkAyan scenes on here as well and I want to put the old ones up so I’ll randomly post those as well I guess.

It’s Day 119 of missing AkkAyan counting from when the eclipse ended. Today’s scene was hard to choose because with the news of Our Skyy filming and all the new photos from the dvd box sets I am overflowing with emotions about them.

I chose this scene because of a comment Ayan makes when they are exchanging pins. He says, “It’s like we’re exchanging wedding rings,” and with special episodes upcoming where anything could happen it makes me think about an AkkAyan proposal. I definitely think at least one of the Our Skyy couples will get engaged, they did it with the first one. And one couple is already engaged so I’ll continue to foolishly think it could be AkkAyan next. Ayan seems like the sappy kind of person who would buy promise rings. Either way I hope there is some sort of reference to the pins in the Our Skyy episode. If it doesn’t take place at Suppalo then what is the little thing they do for eachother to replace the pins? Could it be the earring we see in Akk’s ear in the Our Skyy trailer or is that just an oversight from GMMTV? I’m not sure but I can dream.

Anyways, back to the scene. It’s truly an iconic one. There’s no shortage of parallels between AkkAyan earlier and later in the show but this one is specifically shown. Flashing back to the first time making the contrast in feelings immensely clear. The fear and confusion in Akk’s eyes so intensely different from the obvious love and affection in the present. Akk’s confidence in their relationship as a whole is beautiful to see. Referencing the “Last time” like it’s a happy memory for them to share rather than a time where they were both hurt and angry. He doesn’t make any kind of protest when Ayan mentions the wedding rings and you can feel the love and comfort sparking between them.
