No, but George’s attitude towards Williams is exactly how drivers should behave.

Williams offered him very little in terms of development, because their pace wasn’t fast enough to give him true experience in the areas he needed to develop post-F2. The team barely had the money to keep going, and his seat was often touted to be sold out from beneath him for them to make cash. The entire team morale was at a low and they were just existing rather than participating. Williams was the team that even Rich Energy didn’t want to associate themselves with.

But he never badmouthed his team once. He turned up, did the work, committed to the team because he was grateful for the opportunity and he wanted the chance to prove himself, and look what they managed to achieve.

Look what’s happened with other drivers when things haven’t gone their way with teams. Look how Mazepin treated Haas, look what happened with the Strolls and Williams only the year before, look what happened with Kubica, a guy who decided not driving an Alfa Romeo was preferable to driving a Williams. That’s true disrespect.

In the real world, if you take a job and find it’s not what you expected or the conditions weren’t what was advertised then you find yourself a new job. In F1, it’s not that easy. George saying “I think ultimately three years was too long” after he’s completed those years, is very different to if he’d said that at the end of year 1. It’s not an example of disrespect, it’s an example of good work ethic. He’s able to make those comments because despite acknowledging it wasn’t the best fit for him development-wise, he’s safe in the knowledge that he gave the job his all.

Okay I dont know much about your liked ships so uhh your favorite podcast ship for the shipping bingo!

To be honest, I haven’t really been listening to any new podcasts for ages (Malevolent was really the last one that I picked up, about a year ago), so I don’t have many podcast ships much less a favourite one.

However, I’ll go with a classic (Jonmartin from TMA, because they were my first big podcast ship).

(“I used to like it” is highlighted not because I don’t like them anymore, but because in terms of ships it’s kind of a low-level one for me. I still enjoy it, but I’ve kind of moved on from them as a main-focus ship in my mind.)
