Ao todo, são ofertadas 75 vagas, sendo 20 para o curso de Licenciatura em Química, 25 para o de Licenciatura em Matemática e 30 para Tecnologia em Alimentos. A novidade do dia, para começar bem a semana, foi receber do Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica e Centro de Ciências Exatas e de Tecnologia da UFSCar a medalha de Honra ao Mérito Nacional e a notificação de Mérito Estadual do meu aluno João Pedro Barbosa pelo talento demonstrado na modalidade teórica da Olimpíada Brasileira de Robótica (OBR 2017). Fruto do trabalho do outro projeto de extensão do IFTO aplicado no Ernesto Barros, desta vez foi o projeto de Robótica do professor Levi Neto do qual participei assumindo os inscritos para a Olimpíada Brasileira e cuidando da papelada, além de ter escrito boa parte do artigo final. O mérito é do estudante João Pedro, mas é preciso reconhecer todo o empenho dos demais estudantes do Ernesto que participaram do projeto e dos extensionistas Jânio e Bruno, além da contribuição do professor Schneider na conclusão deste projeto. A educação tecnológica em Colinas mostra, com todos esses resultados, está num caminho sem volta de avanços e transformações conforme surgem as notícias da vitoriosa parceria do Colégio Ernesto Barros com o IFTO.
