random, but would you consider making a chart/guide to yours ocs? I've been following your art for years but feel like I still don't really know your characters. I'd be very curious to know more about them and who's who

god I feel using the word 'OC' is like, an appropriation of fandom culture ha ha. as in I have a p dumb approach to writing & I don't think that much abt characters aside from like their goals and feelings in the context of whatever story they're part of if that makes sense?

(a very dark part of my soul wishes there was a m. john harrison critique of world-building essay (which I only partially agree with but found helpful at the time after online fantasy writing advise paralysed me with the feeling I needed to understand medieval economics & agriculture before writing about dragons or w/e) but for like. you don't need to know a person's favourite colour, 'love language' etc before writing about them. & I've seen a lot of ppl online building pseudo-fandoms before producing actual works & then if/when they do it's written as like fanfic of itself w the assumption the reader wants charming banter, character trauma dumping etc w/o a story & context to make you care? anyway end rant. not giving examples everyone is trying their best I think & again I'm a weirdo & not the target audience for anything)

...anyways I should do character sheets for Iica & the nameless wanderer those are prob the closest thing I have rn. or the hell pit ppl but since I haven't properly gotten started on that it's still very vague

Minister Ramdin pleit voor gecoördineerde aanpak van inter-Amerikaanse instellingen

Minister Albert Ramdin van Buitenlandse Zaken, International Business en Internationale Samenwerking (BIBS) heeft op donderdag 27 juni 2024 tijdens de Summit of the Americas in Paraguay opgeroepen tot betere toepassing van de structuren en mogelijkheden die de Organisatie van Amerikaanse Staten (OAS) biedt. De Summit of the Americas is een meeting van staatshoofden en regeringsleiders die eens in de twee jaren plaatsvindt en uit overwegingen van efficiëntie meestal tijdens de Algemene Vergadering van de OAS. De 54ste Algemene Vergadering van de OAS vindt plaats van 26 tot en met 28 juni 2024 in de hoofdstad Asunción, Paraguay en bestaat uit delegaties van alle lidlanden, doorgaans onder leiding van de ministers van Buitenlandse Zaken. Tijdens zijn speech benadrukte de minister dat Suriname akkoord is met de gestelde prioriteiten van de organisatie. Hij vroeg ook speciale aandacht voor voedsel- en waterzekerheid en energieduurzaamheid, de verlichtende maatregelen van de gevolgen van klimaatverandering en andere milieu-uitdagingen. De bewindsman ging verder in op twee belangrijke initiatieven binnen de CARICOM-regio, te weten het Bridgestone-initiatief en de Multidimensionale Kwetsbaarheidsindex. Hij drong aan op meer focus op deze initiatieven en de noodzaak om tot conclusies te komen over hun toepassing in de regio. De minister gaf verder aan, dat om de democratie en het democratisch bestuur te versterken, het nodig is om de rechtstaat en de mensenrechten, duurzame ontwikkeling en economische vooruitgang te faciliteren door intraregionale handel en investeringen. De minister onderstreepte dat deze aanpak zou kunnen helpen bij het oplossen van vele grensoverschrijdende uitdagingen. “Realistische doelstellingen en initiatieven, maar bovenal een duidelijk tijdschema en met de financieringsmodaliteiten moeten we de doelstellingen van de top verankeren in de nationale ontwikkelingsprogramma's en de daarmee samenhangende begrotingen”, zo hield de minister zijn gehoor voor. De minister verduidelijkte dat dit betekent dat er in eigen land verschillende ministeries moeten ontwikkelen, vooral het ministerie van Financiën. Ook moet er tijdig een sterke betrokkenheid zijn bij het maatschappelijk middenveld en het bedrijfsleven. De Surinaamse bewindsman benadrukte dat er onder leiding van de OAS een gecoördineerde aanpak moet zijn zoals andere inter-Amerikaanse instellingen hebben, zoals PAHO, IDB en IICA , misschien ook andere, om de toegewezen middelen in hun ontwikkelingsplanning en financiële planning op een gerichte en gecoördineerde manier op één lijn te brengen. Tenslotte gaf de minister mee om strategieën regelmatig aan te passen om opkomende uitdagingen en kansen tijdig aan te pakken. Read the full article
