Il progetto di sviluppo del Gouf Flying Test Type venne fermato ufficialmente in seguto all'incidente mortale che portò alla perdita dell'H-4, l'unità più avanzata e del suo pilota. Diciamo fermato ufficialmente, perché in realtà lo sviluppo di queste unità andò ancora avanti nell'Asia continentale, molto probabilmente sotto il patrocinio dello psicotico scenziato Ginias Sahalin, il responsabile del progetto Apsalus, non che notoriamente un soggetto poco avvezzo a rispettare gli ordini di sospensione di progetti che lui ritiene vitali per il futuro di Zeon. Per questo sotto il suo comando vennero sviluppati e prodotti, a partire dal MS-07H-4 Gouf Flying test Type i MS-07H-8 Gouf Flight Type sulla base dei Gouf Custom. Esatto niente test nel nome, gli H-8 sono considerati mezzi definitivi pronti per la produzione. Le modifiche sono molto estese, e la base, il Gouf Custom è già di suo un ottimo mezzo di partenza. Prima di tutto sono state migliorate le alette sui fianchi che ora possono ruotate di diverse centinaia di gradi per poter essere usate sia come superfici di volo che come timoni. L'impianto di propulsione a getto è stato ulteriormente potenziato e le turbine sulle gambe sono così grosse da essere seppellite quasi per metà della loro circonferenza dentro la gamba stessa. Il risultato è una capacità di volo, con una manovrabilità, impressionante per un mezzo di questa stazza. L'armamentario standard è lo stesso del Gouf custom, si, incluso lo scudo con la Gatling da 75mm, e il cannoncino trinato da 35 sotto di esso! Niente più goffe mani con cannoncini nelle dita, ma solo normali manipolatori in grado di usare ogni sorta di arma. Ma non mancano le problematiche. Il mezzo soffre ancora del surriscaldamento dei motori, e di alti consumi che riducono di molto la sua autonomia, relegandolo a ruoli di scorta e supporto, o brevi e veloci raid. Si conosce con certezza l'esistenza di almeno quattro di queste unità. Due appaiono nelle puntate finali di 08th MS Team di scorta all'Apsalus III, uno nel corto di 08th "Battaglia in tre dimensioni" e l'ultimo nel manga "The Noble Shroud" una side story di Unicorn ambientata nell'UC 0096 dove viene usato da uno sconosciuto gruppo di pirati per compiere razzie, rendendo questa unita senza ombra di dubbio la più longeva MS-07H in assoluto! https://www.facebook.com/GundamItalianClub/photos/a.2564255233654382/2638840132862558/?type=3
