if  it  were  up  to  cynthia,  she  wouldn’t  have  ever  taken  this  role.  better  yet,  she  would  have  kept  her  name  as far away  from  this  project  all  together,  finding  the  fantasy  genre  too  geeky  for  the  rapport  she’s  built  throughout  the  years.  unfortunately,  it’s  not  up  to  cynthia  to decide what  jobs  to  accept  and  which  to  not,  no  that  all  is  controlled  by  her  mother  and  her  minions  whom  cynthia  is  certain  were  put  on  this  earth  solely  to  make  her  life  a  living  hell.  star  knows  better  than  to  push  back  against  their  demands,  it  only  ever  ends  badly  for  her.  the  only  thing  she’s  looking  forward  to,  aside  from  cashing her check,  is  starring  alongside  a  very  familiar  face.  the  owen  kendall.  hasn’t  seen  nor  heard  of  him  since  they  were  kids,  back  when  cynthia  was  a  naive  and  thought  being  famous  was  the  best  thing  to  ever  happen  to  her.  they’re  supposed  to  be  reading  through  the  script  today  alongside  a  few  other  cast  members.  she’s  already  gone  through  it  the  week  prior,  it  was  a  solid  concept  just  not  what  she’s  usually  apart  of.  regardless,  she’s  got  a  job  to  do  and  has  the  intentions  of  doing  it  right  just  to  prove  all  her  haters  wrong.  

walks  into  the  office  building  with  her  head held  up high,  asking  the  receptionist  at  the  front  for  directions  to  the  conference  room  then  walking  away  without  as  much  as  a  thank  you  when  they’re  given  to  her.  sees  that  the  elevator  is  about  to  close and  she  rushes to reach it before it closes,  impressively  in  the  stilettos  that  adorn  her  feet.  “   hold  the  elevator!  ”   manages  to  exclaim,  just  barely  making  it  in  time.

"i saw the cutest cat ever when i was travelling last week!" quinn's immediately fishing for his phone in his pocket, swiping through the photos to find the cat in question. the photo's of quinn crouching on the ground next to a fluffy black cat, doing a peace sign.

"she was so friendly! i honestly would've stolen her, but...i already pissed off the police in that town for breaking and entering into an old hospital." he says, grinning mischievously, it's pretty clear he doesn't feel guilty at all for that. "but anyway, what's going on with you? i've missed you! i wish i could've taken you with me, honestly."

beau  likes  to  think  he  can  persevere  in  the  face  of  an  unforeseen  tragedy,  always  one  to  be  headstrong  and  resilient.  two  noble  traits  that  seem  to  be  working  against  him  currently.  news  of  the  untimely  death  of  his  younger  brother  and  wife  came  to  him  in  the  middle  of  the  night,  their  father  having  to  take  over  the  phone  call  due  to  how  inconsolable  their  mother  was.  its  been  a  whole  month  of  the  days  just  blurring  by,  him  having  to  stay  strong  for  the  sake  of  his  parents  while  also  trying  not  to  fall  apart  himself.  hasn’t  grieved  the  loss  properly,  not  yet,  in  fear  that  if  he  lets  the  sadness  takeover  it  might  not  ever  go  away.  mind  constantly  plays  happy  memories  of  the  two  boys  and  all  the  trouble  they  would  get  into  whenever  they  were  younger.  would  never  find  one  without  the  other;  that’s  how  attached  they  were.  so  he  ignores  that  gaping  hole  in  his  heart…  or  at  least  tries  to,  by  burying  himself  in  his  work  to  keep  his  mind  occupied.

when  he  gets  a  letter  in  the  mail  formally  addressed  to  him  from  some  fancy  lawyer  in  the  city,  he  almost  crumples  it  up  and  throws  it  away  but  his  eyes  catch  the  name  of  his  nephew  along  with  the  words  legal  guardians  and  that  stops  him  from  doing  so.  apparently,  they  had  decided  that  in  the  event  of  something  unfortunate  occurring  to  them,  that  their  only  child  should  be  left  under  the  care  of  beau  and  lyra  hayes.  obviously  this  must  have  been  decided  before  he  and  lyra’s  divorce  and  this  almost  has  the  cowboy  laughing  at  how  ironic  it  all  is.  even  in  death  his  brother  still  finds  a  way  to  pull  the  rug  right  from  under  him.  its  been  about  three  days  since  he  had  received  this  letter,  and  he’s  now  impatiently  waiting  in  the  lobby  of  some  pretentious  law  firm  wearing  the  most  uncomfortable  suit  so  he  could  look  professional.  wouldn’t  have  even  showed  up  if  it  hadn’t  been  for  the  look  his  mother  had  given  him  when  he  told  her  the  news.  pulled  from  his  thoughts  as  he  catches  a  glimpse  of  his  ex  -  wife  entering  and  he  stands  at  her  arrival.     “     lyra.     ”     first  time  he’s  seen  her  since  the  funeral,  and  even  then  they  had  only  exchanged  a  few  words.     “     glad  you  could  make  it.  sooner  we  get  this  cleared  up  the  better.     ”

"i don't normally make clothes in this style, but...you're my friend! so i wanted to make you something and i hope you like it." sol hands over the gift, carefully wrapped and even with a bow on top, which was in their friend's favourite colour, of course.

sol had spent months working on the gift, they usually made more gothic and alternative fashion, but it was worth branching out for someone special to them.
