Mha fic idea #9
(Rody's in this one 👀)
Rody and Deku are in like a cave or whatever, still on the run from heroes, the law, and villains alike. They're chatting amicably, and the conversation turns to Rody's siblings.
Specifically: Their quirks.
Rody is a bit tight lipped at first, which is very strange for someone who loves to gush about his brother and sister every chance he gets.
Eventually, he says that he's 'Not sure what their quirks are, exactly...' He explains that, while his parents had been able to afford a proper diagnosis and testing to find out the specifics of Rody's quirk (when it first manifested), he didn't have the finances himself to cover the cost for his siblings.
He has theories of what his brother's could be. Roro is incredibly smart for someone his age, although he doesn't have many opportunities to show it.
But with Lala... Rody doesn't think she has a quirk at all. She's 6 years old, so he would have expected to see some sort of signs of it by now, but nothing's changed.
He's not bothered by this. Lots of people in his community were quirkless (that's usually why they ended up there) but Rody also knows how dangerous the world can be to those without the power to defend themselves. He wants to take her to a doctor, to know for sure, but he'd prefer to leave it a mystery for now until they're able to live somewhere safer...
As he explains this, Rody hears a sniffle.
Deku is crying.
Then it hits Rody:
What if... Deku was prejudice against quirkless people?
Rody hates the idea, knowing how caring Deku is, but it also makes sense... Deku is OBSESSED with quirks and even found value in one as inconvenient as Rody's. Deku (from Rody's pov) has had a powerful, if nonsensical, quirk for the majority of his life.
In Rody's world, being quirkless was only half as bad as a useless quirk.
In Deku's world... it might sound like a fate worse than death.
The locket on Rody's neck suddenly weighs heavy on his chest...
