#im rewatching with my brother and i can't handle it
Text
I just can't handle how domestic and straight out of a fanfic buddie was this episode. Hanging out, helping Chris with his homework, going on a fancy lil date, Buck helping Christopher make cookies for his class and then making him dinner. They really said let's give the fanfic writers vindication

for aro film monday :
la cité des enfants perdus (the city of lost children)
it does not contain fomance, unless you count the evil fairy tale where they hate each other & curse each other forever
i have issues with universal star rating systems but that's what the summary is for i guess. 4/5⭐️
i watched this movie for a film class & with it we read an article where the reviewer said it was the kind of movie bes enjoyed as a collorary to LSD or shrooms. that guy was a bastard and a coward who can't appreciate good worldbuilding and can't handle interesting set dressing or the idea that not everything needs to be explained to the audience to be fun
the movie is about one (ron perlman), a mostly mute strongman who has adopted a young street urchin as his brother. the kid, denree, gets kidnapped for reasons which become apparent - his dreams are to be used to slow the rapid aging of a man who is as such because he cannot dream. one thus goes on a quest to save denree, and along the way helps a gang of street orphans steal a safe and picks up another little sister, miette. and then a lot of other stuff happens
this movie loses a star on account of being extremely weird about disabled people. most of the villains have some form of birth defect - a pair of evil conjoined twins, a woman whose dwarfism is, within the evil fairytale, a magiscientific (?) punishment for sucking or something (im going to be honest that bit flew over my head a little i need to rewatch it), and thats not even getting into the blind cult. so if thats a film dealbreaker, you are now aware and can choose to pass
this movie also has approx 3 colors and all of them suck. and red, which doesn't suck. this is both my very real color symbolism analysis and my very real opinion of looking at the colors of this film. its colors are puke brown puke yellow puke radioactive green and red<3 and light blue. for one <333
this film is supremely weird and highly recommended by me and all film critics who can handle evil whimsey

finding myself casually planning for the end again. Like I'll look at things and scribble down who i could give them to.
Or calling my family members just to say i love them, then crying over the idea of those being the last that they hear from me.
Or when i go over my cats diets with my brother for no reason.
Rewatching my favorite shows or binging the things I've been meaning to get to. Flying through books like I'm running out of time.
Like im trying to neatly pack everything up and away.
And I'm not necessarily planning an attempt. Rather just how the aftershock would be handled (as if i could actually control it)
I can't tell if it helps or not. But when i get this bad its cathardic, or at the minimum the routine of it gets me out of bed for a minute. Idk. I'm just rambling and have no one irl to do it to so here i am

Rewatching this episode made me realise how much Seon-Gyeom and Coach Bang have in common. (My English-reading self loves the fact that she's called "bang" given her history of beating to pulp a colleague who wanted to, well, bang her.) In many ways, she comes across as more of a parental figure than Seon-Gyeom's actual parents. Not only is there the affection visible in the way she ruffles his hair and teases him, she's also got a history of trying to counter abuse with violence.
Coach Bang's story is a pointed reminder of how the system almost always sides with the male abuser in #MeToo cases. Maybe she had also hoped, like Seon-Gyeom, that people would ask why she'd resorted to violence, but they didn't. Both Coach Bang and Seon-Gyeom are the ones who end up walking away, while the coach (who once harassed Coach Bang and is now turning a blind eye to athletes being assaulted) is the one sitting pretty in his position of power.
It's also heartwarming that the one who brings Coach Bang back into the world of athletics is Seon-Gyeom. It mirrors how she once scouted him because she saw what he was capable of when others didn't.
Also, the sentence in the screengrab reminded me of Dan-Ah, who was forced to give up football by her brother and father. Patriarchy infects everything.
Tumblr media
Last episode, a similar gesture led to a forged a connection (with Yeong-Hwa). This time, Seon-Gyeom's finger can't make that connection. He is very literally disconnected from his old world. It's also perhaps an indication that he's changed — something that his monster father notices when Seon-Gyeom refuses to let Assemblyman Ki exploit him in order to fulfil the older man's ambitions. Of course, Assemblyman Ki doesn't realise that Seon-Gyeom is a catalyst of sorts. Eun-Bi has already chosen a much more confrontational way of opposing her father and protecting her brother when she chooses Dan-Ah's agency. Quite a contrast to the way she had moved the glass away from Assemblyman's Ki in the quietest, subtlest way possible when the older man lashed out at Seon-Gyeom. Later, we'll see Ji-Woo's way of handling her husband change too. Assemblyman Ki, though, has no clue because he's too busy writing holier-than-though tweets (his staff despairing at his tweets sort of reminded me of Trump).
Tumblr media
So nice to see Woo-Sik not taking the work done by "Furry Kim" for granted. He finds out who Furry Kim is — well done, Mi-Joo, on picking a truly ridiculous handle — and thanks her for her work. He doesn't take her labour for granted. Grandma's raised this boy well. Also love it when Woo-Sik asks if she did all this for Seon-Gyeom and Mi-Joo replies that she translated the article because she knew she'd do the best job of it. Shin Se-Kyung is pitch perfect in the way she plays Mi-Joo as someone who knows her strengths, but never comes across as conceited or arrogant.
Tumblr media
I love how it's Seon-Gyeom who adjusts his stride to Mi-Joo's. That the adjustment is made by the man is such a refreshing change from women changing because they're in a romantic relationship. It's also ironic that after this lovely little moment, the Gyeommi couple has its first fight and while it all seems very silly at a superficial level, the feelings that are spurring both Seong-Gyeom and Mi-Joo to feel hurt by the other have darker, sadder roots. This is what we do in everyday life — we spend all our efforts hiding our darkest fears and miseries, only for them to spill out in ways that seem frivolous and nonsensical to those watching.
Also, the Winnie-the-Pooh line is one of the best in the show.
Tumblr media
If you ask me, Seon-Gyeom might just be a wee bit cuter.
Tumblr media
Seon-Yeong couple, I live for you. Kang Tae-Oh is such a breath of fresh air with impeccable comic timing and the innocence that his Yeong-Hwa radiates. Yeong-Hwa and May add such a wonderful sparkle to every scene they're in, lighting it up with their warmth and optimism.
I also live for Im Siwan's face-scrunching skills. Truly.
Tumblr media
If the non-fight between Mi-Joo and Seon-Gyeom felt frustrating (because you just want to shake both of them and tell them to talk to each other properly dammit), how deeply satisfying is that exit after the confrontation with Assemblyman Ki. Both Shin and Cha Hwa-Yun (who plays Ji-Woo) shine in this scene. Ji-Woo's face lights up when she realises the power dynamic between Assemblyman Ki and his son is changing, and this young woman might be the one that started the fire. Also, I love how Mi-Joo taking Seon-Gyeom's hand and speeding up offers a parallel to Seon-Gyeom slowing down his stride to match her pace in the earlier scene.
Tumblr media
Still gives me goosebumps.

The Walten Files Theories:
I rewatched the series and I have some new theories and my guess on the timeline. If anyone saw my previous theories about Jack being in Boozoo. I take that back. I struggle to see faces and I got Charles and Jack confused. Anyway with theories from my brother I think I understand the Walten files a lot better now. But of course these are just theories or guesses to the story. I went all out and spoke on all my theories because I think that's what your supposed to do. Since the story of bons burgers isn't told in a traditional sense. My brother also helped me generate ideas so I want to give him some credit too, enjoy!
Firstly I want to cover two big mysterious. Jack and Charles. Their fates are really left to mystery. But I think we get enough clues that the peices can be put together.
Charles is the most unknown important figure in the entire series. We know what he looks like and who he was stuffed into but otherwise we don't get much else. I have a few theories on him. With the casting of Boozoos ghost and the fact that everyone Felix killed was an employee, I think Charles was an important or high ranking employee under the founders. My guess would be that either he made the animatronics, he was the person who handled the buisness side of things, or he was the highest ranking and most loyal Tech support. I think he may have been close to the founders. So close they set up opening day to be on Lily's birthday (I assume Lily was close to Charles, a daughter or a neice) I picked up on this when Linda called Lily by name in her letter. If it was someone she didn't know she would've said "opening day" or just "a birthday party" she had probably met Charles and Lily at least once to know this info. And at this time the company wasn't off the ground yet. So with that established I think Charles was killed for one of two reasons (or a mix of both) A. Jack set it up so that if something happened to him Charles got his part of the company and become a founder or B. Charles was the one who told the authorities about what happened at Bons burgers. If you remember in Rosemary's section there is a shadow that follows behind then slowly and walks in as shes stuffed. That couldve been charles. He may have picked up that Felix acted strange around his female employees (I always thought it was odd aside from Jack and Brian the majority of the deaths were woman) plus the "nows shes beautiful bit" which may have gotten Charles to keep on eye on the other employees and watch over them. But that eventually got him killed. Both theories are things Felix wouldn't have wanted to happen. When Jack is dead he acts as if he barely existed and even capitalizes off his disappearance. I think Felix while caring for the Waltens also had a big ego. Thinking he was above everyone and obsessive about his image. Which probably lead to all the deaths but especially Charles.
That leads me into my next theory. No one is in Bon. Bon is the face of the company. I think Felix's ego is to big for him to ruin the animatromic that is the company's brand. I think all the murders that happened when Bons burgers was open were entirely Felix. Even though we're seeing the bon animatronic. If you notice in Rosemary's part, bon had human hands. Separate from the suit
Tumblr media
See? The suit is covering someone human. At this point Felix couldve been wearing the suit. But later it was probably impossible for Ashley and Brian to be killed by Felix. Which Leads me to my next part.
We can tell by Ed and Molly possessing their rabbit that the bodies don't have to be inside the animatronic for them to be possesed. While Felix obviously didn't die he still could've possesed Bon in some way. Like a poltergeist situation, where his guilt was so extreme. Plus his heightened emotions when he killed wearing the bon suit. It left Bon possesed by his energy. I think this makes sense as Bon is clearly hunting for Sophie. However he doesn't know what she looks like and is just randomly attacking employees that have the same uniform. So it doesn't make sense that Jack or Felix are actually in the suit.
I actually think that after Bons shut down the bodies were removed from the animatronics. All the animatronics have the same large holes in their chests. Which don't look like regular wear and tear. This is probably also why they could be reopened and reused as the biohazard was removed before they were stored.
Tumblr media
Billy is dirty but doesn't have any holes, as he wasn't stuffed with a body until after he was put into the storage facility. Bon probably had blood on him from Felix and had to be cracked open, Sha was also opened. If your curious as to why Police didn't just take off the top layer and expose the exoskeleton. The inside of the animatronics probably had evidence that they took in. Like hair, blood, nails, or if you think some were stuffed alive (like Susan), scratch marks.
Now after those linked thearies let's go back to Jack. A lot of people wonder why Show bear wasn't apart of the show stoppers. But with the estimated timeline were shown. Jack was probably murdered first after Ed and Molly died. I theorize that A. Jack is in showbear and B. Showbear was in the showstoppers but Felix became paranoid or because it was his first kill while drunk he wasn't able to hide the body properly so he dumped the whole animatronic in a well. Probably just off the Bons burgers property.
With all those theories laid out im gonna give my estimated and theorized timeline
Jack and Felix co-founder a restaurant and name it Bons Burgers. They start to hire employees before it opens and set up the opening date to be on Lily's birthday. Which is Charles Neice or Daughter. Charles was close to the Waltens and Krankens and probably did behind the scenes work on the buisness or was a loyal friend they hired as an employee. Before opening day Felix is asked to take Ed and Molly to a school dance and drop them off at home. He takes them to the dance and drinks while he's there. He then starts to drive them home. Combined with his drunk driving and the loose laws on seatbelts in the 70s; Ed and Molly are killed in a car crash. Where Felix survives. Felix buries Ed and Molly, who go on to posses their stuffed rabbit even though their still buried. Jack kept calling Felix more and more panicked. Felix probably lied and said he took them to bons burgers and lost track of time. That he felt dizzy and needed Jack to come pick them all up. When Jack got there Felix probably attacked him and thought he killed him and roughly stuffed him in showbear. But because of his drunken state he couldn't quite do it right. So instead he dragged showbear to a nearby well and threw the animatronic inside. Jack was probably alive still. In his later messages he begs for help, stating that he can't breath. Rosemary or Felix reports all three of them missing. Opening day comes around, it seems it went smoothly but for some reason Susan is killed and stuffed inside Banny. Probably alive, per the "the rabbit is starving" section. Bons burgers continues operating until Felix tricks Rosemary into the back rooms. Wearing the Bon suit. He dismembers her alive and stuffs her in Sha. Charles walks in or he's already gone to the police so he's also killed and stuffed in Boozoo. Along with presumably Susan screaming at night still alive and begging for help. Bons burgers is closed for good. Felix still wants to kill Sophie to ensure that he is never caught but he never manages to do so. The animatronics are inspected and all bodies are removed. Everything is moved to the storage facility as the case is investigated. The case probably went cold, or at least the bodies weren't buried yet as Felix was never found out. With all of them having unfinished buinsess they still continue to haunt Bons burgers. Most of the showstoppers don't seem to reanimate. Instead finding their way into employee tapes, cartons, and the arcade games like bunny farm. Bon possesed by Felix's negative energy from his murders, attempts to hunt down Sophie. Eventually after the case is either dropped or goes cold. Attempts are made to reopen Bons burgers as the characters are still successful. The relocate project start up and the three employees are sent to try and fix the animatronics. Ashley goes into the backroom and is killed by Bon and stuffed in Billy. This shuts down the relocate project for a while. Brian is hired to try and fix the animatronics again. But is stopped by Bon and is hunted down and mauled left to die. Until eventually it appears the project is successful as Sophie and Jenny seem to be new employees handling the machines in a different setting. While playing Bunnyfarm Sophie starts to, and eventually remembers her family.
Stepping back from the lore and story in their universe. I feel like there is another angle you could see the story in. I also think the Walten Files could be being told from Sophie's perspective, possibly in thearpy. These seemingly meaningless tapes suddenly Jolt memories and flashbacks. Which would also explain the random music, dates, distorted pictures, and disjointed conversations. Honestly some parts in the Walten Files remind me of my own memories and flashbacks as a person with memory problems like Sophie. However there isn't much evidence for that. But it is still possible. From that Angle the sequence of events still play out the same but instead of the tapes being haunted its Sophie's having flashbacks as she remembers bits and peices.
That's all I have! Sorry it ended up being such a long post, I hope it makes sense. Have a good day, thank you for reading!

my friend i am here with the self insert oc sam parallel episode, i have a history exam tomorrow and i refuse to revise in favor of writing this. let me take you on a journey.
this is very self indulgent and spans kind of the entirety of the series (because im nosy and want to be involved in every cool plot) so im not gonna embarrass myself OR bore you but the general gist of the first episode is this:
i am an 18yr old psychic kid raised by a hunter, meeting the boys in s2 through a “my father was also murdered by a ghost of his past”, except he did not immediately assume i am the antichrist while i was an infant and raised me relatively normal, thus demonstrating that john winchester was a fucked up parent because he allowed himself to be.
i am what sam could’ve been and he is once again reminded that all he ever wanted was to be normal and loved and how that was taken away from him, unfairly. he is angry. he is jealous. he feels bad about being jealous because “her dad’s dead, what the fuck, man”. he wants me to be ok, ultimately, ofc he does, but he doesn’t understand why i got it, why he didn’t, why couldn’t john do it. this serves as more material for soul-searching bc i am a firm believer that understanding the circumstances of abuse and neglect and wrapping ur head around them helps lift the guilt we often burden ourselves with: it’s not that if sam had been a better son john would have loved him more, it’s that john refused to look at sam for what sam really was: a child wracked by generational trauma and unprocessed grief, whose autonomy was violated before he could say his first word, in need of love, and chose to instead look at sam through his own grief muddied goggles and link him to mary’s death. insane how this is turning into sam analysis isn’t it.
i am also angry because im still sort of a child but not really, not anymore, im on the cusp of adulthood and going into it knowing that the world is unfair and hateful, grief is written all over me and sam thinks oh nono, because hope’s kind of the whole point isn’t it, and i had it and now it has been taken from me along with my parent and sam feels so alone and furious with everything, he’s plagued by skull cracking demonic visions, and he doesn’t want this idealized version of himself to ultimately end up like the version of himself that he is now, the one he doesn’t understand, the one he’s afraid of. he’s looking in a weird funhouse mirror, sees a kid who was different like he was but was cherished, and sees her end up in the same position he is now: fatherless, on a quest for revenge. he thinks that if we get the monster of the week, ill be better and he’ll find his hope in that. all roads lead to rome but he wont allow this one to reach the colosseum (defying destiny theme, hello).
the monster of the week hunt begins thusly, with sam generally uncomfortable. i confide in him about my psychic abilities and i explain to the brothers that i can help. both are opposed, but i am a chaotic little bitch and get involved anyway. throughout my involvement, sam learns more about the world of psychic mediums and thinks aha! hope! maybe if i dig deep enough (whore for lore amirite babes) ill find someone who’s lived an experience similar to mine! miss oc what are ur book recs for “i think i am psychic and terrified of it” and i say “fear not nerd have a very small cup of coffee and let me tell you about this great college course on divination”. this is relevant because i wanted to see more of sam desperately trying to fit into some sort of community, even a community of supernatural folk john and dean might’ve disapproved of, and finding that, at this point in time, he does not. he’s an outsider to normal people, he’s an outsider to those in contact with the paranormal. really hammer in that freak (affectionate) tagline. (he WILL build a safe haven in the men of letters bunker for all misfits in his adulthood, party city wig sam i do NOT perceive you)
the hunt culminates in an impressive showdown that includes the following: pyrotechnics, a cool spell, seeing things that aren’t really there, the power of friendship and a butter knife thrown like a frisbee. at the end we all look like final girls because im gay so blood is sexy. sam, who has come to regard me like a younger sibling/some sort of manifestation of his inner child, learns what it’s like to be deeply concerned with a youth’s safety and has a heart to heart with dean about how yeah, handling a teenager with incredible amounts of simmering rage and unprocessed grief while being barely equipped for any guardian-like role IS hard, man, is this what it felt like every time i busted out a batshit plan last minute and barely executed it in time to survive??? “yeah. bitch” “jerk.”
the epilogue is as follows: we see sam feeling many complicated things, but he is satisfied for the moment. we have a little heart to heart while laying flowers on my father’s grave. we both look a little worse for wear, but hopeful. “what’re you gonna do now?” “im not sure. college, maybe?” we keep in touch. i go on to art school and make homoerotic art pieces, as is my right. i make guest appearances whenever they need a deus ex machina bs spell to get out of trouble.
maybe in later seasons i go a little ape shit and commit some magical atrocities in the name of the greater good. maybe i get a little antagonized and he gets to offer me the understanding he couldn’t get when he needed it. i see you, sam, treating all misfits in later seasons with kindness, and i offer you a claire-like parallel to be there for through the tough times, thus healing some of your own wounds. everyone deserves an angsty wlw teenager to bond with . (i am only on season 9 of my rewatch and i have not seen seasons 12-15 in their entirety, if he does get one im not disrespecting that character and i love them probably)
the boys hit the road. vienna by billy joel plays, because it makes me feel things.
Slow down you're doing fine
You can't be everything you want to be before your time
Although it's so romantic on the borderline tonight
Too bad, but it's the life you lead
You're so ahead of yourself that you forgot what you need
Though you can see when you're wrong
You know you can't always see when you're right
You got your passion, you got your pride
But don't you know that only fools are satisfied?
Dream on, but don't imagine they'll all come true
When will you realize... Vienna waits for you?
end scene.
this is poetry. i will cherish this forever thank you for sharing with me and good luck on your exam
