"Bae, me and Lane about to hit the road."

I stop wiping Caden and look at him. "What the fuck you mean? You just told me you don't leave for a few days. What happened to that? I swear you be making shit up."

"Why the hell would I make up a reason to leave? I can just leave."

"Leave then."

He puts his arms in the air. "What the hell is going on?"

I turn back to Caden. "You leaving... But you ain't taking my fucking son."

"Your son... Jayla." he walks out the room.

I turn back when I hear him coughing. He is still in the room but in the closet. He comes out of the closet with a bag. This motherfucker just said he not going anywhere. What does he have a bag for? It's not his gym bag. I watch him dig through it talking to himself. I look away to put Caden's diaper on.

"You messed up the fucking joke." Trey says after like 5 minutes.

"I missed the whole fucking thing. Was this supposed to be funny?"

Trey puts the bag on his shoulder. "Me and Lane will be back."

Forrest walks into the room. "Where Lane going?"

"Ask him." Trey says.

"No fucking where." I snap.

Forrest gets on the bed behind Caden's head. "He going somewhere. He standing at the front door with his bag packed. He told me to come get Trey."

I roll my eyes. "Why do y'all do what my 2 year old tells you to do? He think his shit doesn't stank. Tremaine."

"Don't fucking Tremaine me now." Trey says walking out the room.

"Why he mad?" Forrest asks.

I shrug. "Cause I missed the joke, I guess."

He laughs. "That can't really be why he mad."

"Go with them and call me to tell me where yall going." I say pushing Forrest.

"Lane said I couldn't go."

"And you doing what the fuck he want? What is going on?"

He shrugs. "He was getting pretty upset about me saying I'm going anyway."

"Xavier." Trey says at the door. "Come on."

"Where I'm going?" he asks sitting up a bit.

Trey starts walking away. "Bring your fucking ass."

He jumps up walking out. "I'm doing this for you ex lover."

"Kill that shit." Chris says walking in the room with Minnie. "Can I get Caden?"

I let him pick Caden up. Caden was hard down sleeping. His arm just hung as Chris picked him up like a football. He is so tiny when he is next to Minnie but he has gained so much weight. Doesn't look like it now. I put his arm on his chest. Chris leaves out of the room. I sigh. There's shit I need to do now that Lane and Caden are in someone else's care. I stretch out on the bed. I'm not doing any of it.

"Bae, where your hubby?" MiMi says getting on the bed a few minutes later.

"He went to pick up a client or something and JJ went with him."

I feel Trey touch me. I look to my left where MiMi once was. She is gone. I glance at the time then look at Trey. He comes in my face then starts kissing my lips. I hate him. I sigh deeply as if I'm super annoyed with him, which I am in a way. He kisses my neck. I roll my eyes then close them. He brings his body closer to mine. Tremaine. If only he knew.

"Where is Lane?" I ask.

"Wait right there." he says getting off the bed.

Nigga I'm in my bed trying to take a nap. Where the hell am I going, bitch? He would get so mad if I said that. I turn over on my side. I open my eyes when I hear what I thought was Trey. It was Chris. He didn't have any babies in his arms. I sit up. Where is my baby? I glance at the monitor sitting on the table. Caden was in his bed. I look up. Trey was getting rid of Chris pushing him out of the door. Chris spins in a circle.

"Hold up." He says trying to resist suddenly but it was too late. "Bruh."

"Yeah, man. You my nigga." Trey says closing the door on him.

Chris starts laughing in the hall. "Aye, everybody! Smoking back here taking a shit!"

I sit up. "What did he say?"

"Jay, that bitch don't own any sense."

Trey gets on the bed. "Don't talk, Jayla."

I lay down turning my back to him. He wraps his arms around me.

"What the hell?" Trey says getting off the bed.

"Wait." I retort.

Trey comes back looking at the monitor. Lane makes the mobile start turning then he lies down next to Caden. Caden is now quiet. I chuckle.

"Lane, why are you in there?" Forrest snaps.

"I go to sleep." Lane says.

Forrest slides Caden over. "You too big for this."

"Whatever." Forrest says slapping him.

Lane smiles then closes his eyes. Forrest continues talking junk to Lane as he lies there faking like he sleep. Trey snatches the monitor from me. I push him. It didn't matter cause he didn't move an inch. I reach up hugging his neck. He tries to get lose.

"Cammie." he says.

I let him go. "What? I don't know when the last time you called me Cammie."

He sighs sitting back. "Just go cook for me."

"No. You know you dead."

"Please."

I chuckle shaking my head. "I'm not. Your mama in there."

"I want some steak and eggs. Lane and I went to the store."

I don't say nothing to him. He gets off of the bed then grabs my foot suddenly. I try to grab hold to something but it's too late. He picks me up off of the bed carrying me across the room. I laugh then make it hard for him to get me out of the door.

"What are you doing?" I say to him.

"You gonna fucking cook this food." he says getting me through the door.

We make it all the way to the kitchen before he puts me down. I look around at the grocery that Forrest is digging through. Oh hell no. I run out of the kitchen. When I turn the corner Trey grabs me.

"What the fuck?" Chris says coming out of his room in his boxers.

"What the fuck?" I say back to him. "Cover your lil ass dick in my house."

He narrows his eyes at me. "I was about to say something that would have got me in trouble."

He walks across the hall instead of going into his room. Trey pulls me towards our bedroom. I pull against him with just enough success to make myself feel good. He slams the door once I'm in the room. I stop and stare at him. He pushes me against the door with his chest. I still just look at him. I don't know if he mad or not.

"You gonna say yes."

"I'm not." I retort.

He squats down. I smile at him. I like the way that he is thinking. He makes a face at me while taking my clothes off. I grab his face.

"If you don't do it right..."

"Bitch..." he says picking me up.

Thank God for tall ceiling, muscles, and Tremaine Neverson. I giggle letting go of his face. He smirks at me with his devilish ass grin. You would think we weren't married and he was about to travel across some forbidden land. I close my eyes when his lips touch my pussy. I cover my mouth.

He looks down at his food. "Hell, I forgot."

"Where is Lane?" I ask.

Cammie gets in my face. "Who?"

"I'll text you. Tell yo baby mama hey." Sonja says hanging up.

Cammie snatches my phone. "You really about to fuck up your relationship?"

"Chill." I say pushing her.

"Give me my shit."

"Sonja." Cammie rolls her eyes. "I really wanted to see you and LeeLee together."

I reach for my phone. "What the fuck you mean? Me and Leah good."

"Sonja?"

She has her hands on her hips. "I would want to know if you knew something about Trey..."

I got a letter today from my insurance company who insures my homeowner's insurance - it said that they need to do an inspection of my home to see if I am maintaining it properly. I've been here since November 1999 and I've never gotten a letter like this before.
