I was bizarrely japanophilic and socially maladapted in hs in a way that should have made me a Weeb but I just… wasn’t aware of animanga much? Then when I got into college and became ever so slightly more socialised part of this involved imbibing “otaku are disgusting freaks” messages that gave me a paranoid fear of ever allowing myself to enjoy weebshit (I hope everyone involved in maintaining those messages dies a slow and painful death) lest ppl implicitly hate me, up until (iirc) 30 nov 2019, when I had this tumultuous personal breakdown about this and some related traumatic-feels-a-little-indulgently-melodramatic-as-a-word-choice personal history and decided I did not want to live under the thumb of imagined sneerer normies

I have not watched much anime lately tho I think I’ve been too distracted by caves of qud and some pkmn fan games
