В своїх наївно сюрреалістичних творах я висвітлюю паралельну реальність, яка константо тяжіє до деконструкції існуючих на цей день історичних подій, як в персональному житті пересічного українця (мене) так і на соціо-політичному театрі (умовне суспільство). Завдячуючи текстам-зображенням я маю можливість звужувати поле уяви глядача, тим самим досягаючи максимальної різкості в ідейному виражені та доводжу концепт до майже гротескного (де присутні комізм, сарказм чи то іронія) градусу кута зору споживача плодів моїх старань. Тематично це можуть бути особиста історія, соціально політичне потрясіння, історичні міфологія, вплив людини на навколишнє середовище. 

Олег Харч український сучасний художник, що працює у фігуративному напрямку актуального мистецтва. Програма резиденція ВНН звертає увагу на роль культури та мистецтва в часи російсько-української війни, має на меті реалізацію інституційно критичних проектів пов'язаних з культурною спадщиною (матеріальною і нематеріальною), розвитком художньо-культурних інституцій.

Oleg Kharch participant of the residence Sorry No Rooms Available in August - September 2024

Oleg Kharch was born in the city of Sumy in 1963. From 1980 to 1985 he studied at the Faculty of Construction Technology in Dnipro (then the Dnipropetrovsk Engineering and Construction Institute). 1981-83 studied at the art studio of Stanislav Cherevko in Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk). In my naively surrealist works, I highlight a parallel reality that constantly gravitates towards the deconstruction of current historical events, both in the personal life of an average Ukrainian (me) and in the socio-political theater (conditional society). Thanks to the texts-images, I have the opportunity to narrow the field of the viewer's imagination, thereby achieving the maximum sharpness in the ideological expression and bringing the concept to an almost grotesque (where comedy, sarcasm or irony is present) degree of the angle of view of the consumer of the fruits of my efforts. Thematically, it can be personal history, socio-political upheaval, historical mythology, human impact on the environment. 

Oleg Kharch is a Ukrainian contemporary artist working in the figurative direction of current art. The New naive (or as noted by the art critic and historian Oleh Sydor-Hibelinda – quasi-naive), which was manifested in the artist's work with quotations from the post-conceptual era in various modern techniques. His art is immersed in paper collage, assemblage, traditional painting, and street projects. Also in digital art, video works, installations, performative practices and various internet media. Oleg raises the question "Who are we, where are we from and where are we going?".

Over the years, the artist has participated in numerous (over 60) personal and group exhibitions, including in such important institutions: the 4th and 5th Odesa Biennials, KYIV ART WEEK 2019 in Ukraine, as well as Portugal - XXII Bienal Internacional de Arte de Cerveira, USA - Art Museum of Torrance and Italy "Ukraine: Stories. Contemporary artists'', MAXXI - National Museum of 21st Century Art in Rome. The author's works are in the Kmytiv Museum of Fine Arts named after Y. D. Bukhanchuk, Imago Mundi Collection owned by the Italian collector Luciano Benetton, and the painting "Renovation - state of mind" from the series "This is how they earn'' is part of the Mystetskyi Arsenal museum collection. The author's handwritten book of the artist "Watna Accounting" from November 2023 was acquired in the collection of manuscript collections of the Library of the Princeton University of the State of New Jersey.

The SNRA residency program draws attention to the role of culture and art during the russian-Ukrainian war, aims to implement institutionally critical projects related to cultural heritage (tangible and intangible), development of artistic-cultural institutions.

Oss - Woensdag 30 augustus vindt voor de de 24e keer de culturele manifestatie het Vierde Beeld plaats in het Barbara park, naast de Groene Engel in de gemeente Oss. Voor dit jaar is gekozen voor het thema ‘Oss got talent’ en we hebben een aantal bekende en minder bekende namen die hun wortels in Oss hebben, weten vast te leggen. Talent dat zijn vleugels heeft uitgeslagen en furore maakt op de Nederlandse podia, maar voor het Vierde Beeld graag terug naar Oss komt. Van gypsy jazz door Alessio Rooders en Roy van der Lee tot doorleefde country van Garden in Gloom, van hiphop door Donker Oss en het unieke talent van singer/songwriter Robin Borneman, dat alles gepresenteerd door Lotte Velvet en omlijst door dans van Daily Dance. Garden in Gloom Twee vrouwen en een gemeenschappelijke liefde voor liedjes die schitteren in hun soberheid: zo simpel is de kern van Garden in Gloom. Het duo bestaande uit Imke Loeffen en Mariska Petrovic eert helden en heldinnen uit de country, folk en bluegrass en voegt hier eigen verhalende songs aan toe. Gespeeld met banjo, gitaar en mandoline en met veel gevoel voor harmonie vervlechten hun stemmen en snaarinstrumenten met elkaar in ongecompliceerde, akoestische liedjes over het leven: bitterzoet, maar o zo mooi. Imke is geboren in Oss en haar opa Louis Jansen was er van 1963 tot 1980 burgermeester. Alessio Rooders en Roy van der Lee Alessio studeerde af aan het conservatorium als flamenco gitarist, maar gaat bij het Vierde Beeld een andere kant van zijn talent laten zien. Samen met vriend en collega gitarist Roy van der Lee speelt hij hotclub jazz, swing uit de jaren 20/30/40, later ook gypsy jazz genoemd. De muziek van Django Reinhardt en het welbekende Rosenberg trio is hij tijdens de pandemie intensief gaan beoefenen. Alessio zal samen met Osse gitaar held Roy van de Lee (die ooit nog met Jimmy Rosenberg heeft opgetreden) een aantal standards uitvoeren. Bij een van de standards, een oud accordeon stuk gearrangeerd voor 2 gitaren, zal Osse wereld muziek danseres Senta Schuijers een dans uitvoeren. Lotte Velvet De presentatie is in de kundige handen van de in Oss geboren en getogen, maar inmiddels in Rotterdam woonachtige cabaretière Lotte Velvet. Ze schrijft gedichten en theaterteksten en speelde in verschillende bands viool, gitaar en toetsen. Haar helden zijn onder andere PJ Harvey, David Lynch en Andy Warhol.​ ​Ze maakte onderdeel uit van het cabaretcollectief CabaRot en studeerde in maart 2019 af bij Studio Selma Susanna in Amsterdam. Ze treedt op als sneldichter en schrijft actuele liedjes voor het programma Andermans Veren. In 2020 won zij de jury- en publieksprijs van het Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival. In oktober 2022 ging zij in première met haar debuutvoorstelling ‘Ondergrond’ en was al een paar maal te zien in de Lievekamp. Donker Oss Rapcollectief Donker Oss schept een beeld van hun woonplaats en loopt niet weg van het grauwe imago, maar omarmt dit juist en vergroot het misschien zelf wel uit. Zij brachten in 2020 hun tweede album uit en lijken enigszins uit het beeld verdwenen, een van hen woont inmiddels in België, maar we zijn blij dat ze voor het Vierde Beeld uit het duister willen komen. Robin Borneman Tja, wat kunnen we nog zeggen over dit unieke talent dat nog niet geschreven is. In de afgelopen jaren heeft Robin Borneman met zijn verhalende muziek een enthousiaste en trouwe schare fans om zich heen verzameld. Met het in 2019 uitgebrachte ‘Folklore III: The Cradle Tree’ voltooit Robin zijn ‘Folklore’ drieluik, waarvan deel I en II in respectievelijk 2015 en 2017 verschenen. Folklore project ‘Folklore’ is een ambitieus folk-/roots-project en vertelt het verhaal van een reiziger zonder naam die op zoek is naar zijn identiteit. Hoewel muzikaal duidelijk één geheel, hebben de drie delen ieder een eigen karakter. Deel I is vooral avontuurlijk en experimenteel, deel II bovenal duister en zwaar en deel III is liefdevoller en universeler. De trilogie

is met zijn eigen band én met behulp van bevriende muzikanten uit de band Navarone, opgenomen in de studio van Wouter Budé. Voorafgaand aan de Folklore trilogie brengt Robin in eigen beheer maar liefst zes albums uit. Landelijke aandacht krijgt hij met het zesde album 'Home' (2012). Daarvan wordt bij een groot aantal winkels in het land evenveel of zelfs meer exemplaren verkocht dan veel gerenommeerde bands: een nieuwe folk/roots ster was geboren. Robin treed 2 maanden per jaar op voor miljoen fans In 2013 wordt Robin, via een Tom Waits cover, opgemerkt door het Amerikaanse (hard)rock-orkest Trans Siberian Orchestra en ingelijfd als zanger van één van de grootste stadionacts van Amerika. Sindsdien speelt hij jaarlijks gedurende twee maanden - in november en december – zo’n 60 stadion shows op rij voor gemiddeld 20.000 bezoekers per concert. Daarmee komt hij aan grofweg een miljoen toeschouwers op jaarbasis, een statistiek die door geen enkele Nederlandse act wordt geëvenaard. Folklore Trilogie Na de voltooiing van de Folklore Trilogie begint Robin, nu het Folklore verhaal losgelaten kan worden, in alle rust te werken aan nieuwe muziek. In deze nieuwe periode is Robin ook op de Nederlandse TV te zien. Eerst in oktober 2020, in het RTL4 tv programma “I Can See Your Voice”. Zijn deelname daaraan is zo indrukwekkend dat Talpa Robin in 2021 uitnodigt mee te doen aan het succesvolle SBS 6 tv-programma ‘We Want More”. Het programma bestaat uit meerdere rondes en Robin weet door een imponerende versie van Adele’s ‘Skyfall’, de hoofdprijs van €100.000 binnen te slepen. Enige optreden van Robin Borneman dit jaar Robin is momenteel bezig met het schrijven en opnemen van een nieuw album en heeft nog wat andere projecten op stapel staan en wil pas volgend jaar weer de planken opgaan, maar maakt voor het Vierde Beeld graag een uitzondering. Het enige optreden van Robin Borneman dit jaar is dus op 30 augustus in het Barbarapark in Oss. Woensdagavond 30 augustus Barbarapark in Oss, aanvang 20.30 uur, toegang is gratis, maar je kan natuurlijk altijd een vrijwillige bijdrage doen in de collectezakken.

Milano: apre al pubblico la mostra "XHIXHA. La Reggia allo specchio". Dal 1 luglio, fino a domenica 3 settembre, Palazzo Reale presenta la mostra “XHIXHA. La reggia allo specchio”, un nuovo progetto espositivo dell’artista Helidon Xhixha (Durazzo, 1970). L’esposizione, promossa da Comune di Milano - Cultura, prodotta da Palazzo Reale con lo studio Helidon Xhixha e curata da Michele Bonuomo, traccia un itinerario in cinque tappe che attraversa gli spazi della reggia milanese, accompagnando il visitatore dallo Scalone d’Onore progettato dal Piermarini alle sontuose Sale storiche, oggetto di recente restauro. La pratica artistica di Helidon Xhixha si radica nello studio approfondito delle proprietà dell’acciaio inox e nel suo utilizzo come materia fondante per la realizzazione di monumentali installazioni scultoree. Rifacendosi all’antica concezione dello specchio come passaggio verso un universo altro e del riflesso come l’illusione per eccellenza, l’artista realizza paesaggi astratti enigmatici, composti di forme geometriche ed essenziali. I cubi, i cilindri, i parallelepipedi e le sfere che compongono il vocabolario visivo di Helidon Xhixha sono lavorati in modo da moltiplicarne le superfici riflettenti, realizzando un’impressione di dinamismo e catturando le immagini che circondano l’opera, dalle architetture degli ambienti alle persone. In mostra a Palazzo Reale una selezione di cinque installazioni, concepite appositamente per intercettare e amplificare gli elementi architettonici degli ambienti storici in cui sono esposte. Il percorso espositivo ha inizio con l’opera “Roccia del Mediterraneo” (2019) che accoglie il visitatore dallo Scalone d’Onore, sul cui soffitto Giuliano Traballesi affrescò una allegoria dell’Aurora, rappresentata da una giovane donna alata portatrice di una fiaccola che mette in fuga la notte e gli spiriti maligni delle ombre; è Aurora, la dea romana che apre le porte del giorno, dopo aver attaccato i cavalli al carro del Sole, che versa la rugiada sulla terra, annunciando al mondo il mattino. Si prosegue quindi negli ambienti delle Sale storiche, realizzati in epoca Neoclassica: restituiti al loro splendore originario grazie al restauro (2022) e alla ricollocazione di alcuni arredi storici, ospitano una serie di sette arazzi dedicati al mito di Medea e Giasone. Le quattro sculture site-specific di Helidon Xhixha sono state selezionate per dialogare con gli interni: il cubo, il cilindro, il parallelepipedo, la piramide e la sfera richiamano infatti molti elementi decorativi, insiti nello stile neoclassico, che caratterizzano i sontuosi ambienti dell’appartamento di parata, le cui decorazioni e arredi sono catturati e restituiti attraverso le superfici curve progettate dall’artista in un racconto sempre differente. La luce, uno dei principali tratti d’ispirazione del Piermarini e degli artisti che con lui lavorarono, sulla superficie d’acciaio di Xhixha sembra addirittura smaterializzare la scultura. Ecco la ragione per cui Xhixha afferma di non scolpire l’acciaio, ma di utilizzarlo per scolpire la luce. Grazie a queste sculture, che diventano dei dispositivi interattivi, i visitatori potranno riscoprire il ricco apparato decorativo delle Sale ed apprezzare, fin nel dettaglio, elementi artistici che ad una visione di insieme possono sfuggire, sentendosi protagonisti attivi sia dell’opera di Xhixha che del Palazzo. La mostra “XHIXHA. La reggia allo specchio” è realizzata con il supporto di Imago, Fondazione Giacomini e Magna Pars. Tyranny of the Muse Signing

East Side Mags is super excited to announce that we’ll be hosting local author/writer Eddie Wright to our space with his amazing graphic novel called Tyranny of the Muse!

TYRANNY OF THE MUSE by creator/writer Eddie Wright (A Broken Everything, Regular Show) and illustrator Dave Chisholm (Chasin’ the Bird, Enter the Blue) is the darkly funny, emotionally messy, and oddly sweet story about a troubled artist, a reluctant muse, and the inescapable influence of the past.

 EDDIE WRIGHT is a writer from New Jersey. In 2009 he wrote and published the novella Broken Bulbs which he adapted into the graphic novel in your hands. Always taking a scrappy, DIY approach to creative work, he often jumps from one project to the next (for better or worse), be it comics, copywriting, blogging, television writing, video production, creative direction, audio, or whatever else inspires him. He has written stories for the Regular Show comic series (BOOM! Studios) as well as several issues of the horror comic Lake Imago. In 2022 he also released the absurdist novel A Broken Everything. He is currently working on a novel, audio project, comic, and probably a few other things too.

Join us on February 25th from 1pm-5pm where Eddie will be hanging out, signing copies of his book and chatting with us about writing comics and books and his ability to manage multiple types of projects one after the other!
