With your art dump on Ao3 I think it’s about time to make another one since “Paint Your Armor Not with Blood, but Gold” is close to being 100 chapters long. But if you don’t want to and or have other plans that’s ok too

Uh, you "think it's about time"?? I'm not sure why you think that? Are one-shot collections not allowed to be over 100 chapters long? Is that some unspoken rule that I've never heard of before?

As far as I'm concerned, Paint Your Armor is a collection/art dump. It's still all thematically consistent, mostly clones-centric. I still have every chapter labeled so people can have a good idea of what to expect. I think it would be inconvenient for both myself and those who expect to see my work collected in one place for me to split it up for no particular purpose ^ ^;

(Ngl, I'm actually pretty impressed with myself for getting to almost 100 chapters on there since I usually forget to update art on AO3 (and mind you, this isn't even all my SW art, as it doesn't include Mando Back, Take Flight, or other misc things I've chosen not to include). Every single chapter in that work also took me absolute minimum 2 (more common minimum is 8) to 100+ hours. That is not an insignificant amount of time!)

But yeah, as of now I have no interest and see no purpose in creating a new work. I'll create a new collection if I am no longer drawing clones-centric or move on to a different fandom. If it's annoying for you to find my work in the AO3 work, well, since you sent me this ask you're presumably you're on Tumblr, and here all of my work is posted individually!

“Fujin, have you seen my-”

Raiden paused in the doorway of the sky temple. Fujin was stood with the kids, the object in question perched on his head. It was not the first time Fujin had stolen his hat, and he had no doubt it would not be the last.

“Looks like you've been rumbled, Lord Fujin,” Kung Jin claimed, causing the other's to giggle.

Raiden just gave Fujin a look, before holding out his hand. A silent command to give it back. Fujin, however, took it as a challenge, his eyes narrowed and loudly announcing “Come and get it.”

Raiden grumbled as he started walking over to his brother. It was only when he was close that he noticed the mischievous smirk Fujin wore. What's he up to? He went to grab the hat regardless. Before his fingers could grasp it, gust to wind sent it flying off. Raiden watched as it landed in Cassie's hands.

“Fujin,” Raiden lowly growled.

“Whoops.” Fujin shrugged, wearing the most shit eating grin that Raiden had ever seen in his life... And he had lived a long life.

He turned to Cassie, watching as the girl's mouth also curled upwards into a smile. I get the distinct feeling they are going to make this difficult. He started walking towards Cassie, who threw the hat at Kung Jin and took off running.

Jin looked at the hat in his hands and then back at Raiden. As he made a beeline for the Shaolin, Jin made a face before throwing the hat in Jacqui's direction, screaming “Catch!”

Sighing in annoyance, Raiden turned heel to head towards Jacqui instead. She looked the most panicked about being the one is possession of the hat. Before Raiden was even that close to her she threw it at Takeda, yelling “It's your problem now!”

“Hey!” Takeda yelped, just barely catching the hat. As Raiden changed direction yet again, Takeda looked around before throwing the hat blindly.

Before Raiden could grab it, another gust of wind caught it. It danced gracefully in the air before landing back on Fujin's head. The wind god crossed his arms over his chest and lent to one side, looking oh so smug.

“You are worse than a child,” Raiden reprimanded, watching as Fujin tilted the hat over his eyes.

“Aw, but it's so much fun.” Raiden knew even as he approached his brother that he was going to throw it again. As he predicted, the second Raiden was close enough, the hat was whisked off, back over to Cassie.

The thought occurred to Raiden he could just teleport or zap everyone and take the hat that way... But... As he saw the way the kids giggled, he couldn't help but smile.

Well, that would rather ruin the fun, now wouldn't it?

As he approached Cassie again, he supposed there was no harm letting them tease him, if only for a while.

I just wanted to say: I LOVE your design of Glitch his eyes look boyish and wide-eyed. Compared to the others eyes that have a sharper focused(sometimes angry) look to them (and in Stabbers case manic looking lol). He looks like he has the stars in his eyes and that is also a beautiful detail

Thanks so much on liking my take on Glitch! I try very hard to give all of the clones their own distinct personality when drawing their faces. Given the nature of their lives, and the fact that I've drawn a lot of clones in major leadership roles, many of them do tend to look more grim/serious.

But from the comic he appears in, I got the fact that Glitch isn't like that at all. Even if he's never been successful, even if his squadmates make fun of him, he still tries to use the Force. He questions things, chats about his vulnerability with a Padawan. I get the vibe that he's younger and of course has less responsibility than many of the other clones, but also he hasn't really been crushed into the mold of a "clone trooper."

Even though we only see him without his bucket once, this own face appearance made me think that beneath his bucket, he's probably often very wide-eyed, seeing things and the potential in things that his brother's can't. It can be read as boyish and innocent, but also a wee bit creepy, and it concerns brothers who don't know him very well while also making them want to look out for him.

That's at least my interpretation of him! Thanks again for liking him <3

I would’ve never thought to design the sonics the way you did for the clones well done! Someone mentioned this in your newest chapter: if the clones have feathers all over their bodies and what we think is hair on their head/face is also feathers then shouldn’t ALL their feathers be the same color as their wings?

I saw that comment and haven't answered yet, but the answer is nope!

See, even in humans irl, the hair on our heads, eyebrows, eyelashes, general body hair, pubic hair, it's all different! May be different in length, texture, thickness, growth patterns, etc. Likewise, in birds irl, their feathers aren't the same throughout their bodies either, and even within their wings alone they have several distinct types of feather that vary in appearance and function.

As such, the clones are similar! All of the "hair" even on the more humanoid parts of their bodies are feathers, and therefore share the living beskar qualities of the feathers of their wings, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're the exact same feathers. Certainly in appearance, they appeared thin enough that Obi-Wan assumed they were hair, nothing like the far flatter feathers of their wings.

The coloration patterns are therefore also different. The vast majority of the clones have dark body feathers; that's just the behavior of this specific type of feather on these specific parts of their bodies! The color variations and patterns are mostly on their wings. You'll find out where else on their bodies in Bathing, Part 2!

I say "most," because of course there are millions of clones and some have mutations. I'm sure there are a small minority of clones who also have feathers on other parts of their bodies that also reflect coloration to various degrees, but this is, again, an exception and not the standard for them. But this does explain why in this particular AU, clones like Rex with visibly not-black "hair" might not be as rare as they may be if fully human! It's also entirely possible that some clones have "color changing" head feathers that reflect their wing colorations, which depending on their affiliations, may lead to them having completely natural but distinctly inhuman colored "hair," such as blue or green.

Thank you for answering my question. The reason I asked is because I’m under the impression that Crosshairs mutation is his sniping ability and enhanced eyesight. And yes being able to snipe from the air sounds very cool. But I bet Longshots already done it multiple times already😏

But see, my point is that "sniping ability" isn't really a mutation. It can be a combination of other elements that results in good sniping skills, such as the ones I described in my previous answer: eyesight, calculation, spacial awareness, reflexes, perhaps even longer fingers?? idk. But "sniping ability" in and of itself can't be a mutation, hence why I say I have no clue what Crosshair's mutation actually is! ^ ^;

But yes, he's definitely not the only extremely skilled sniper among the clones, and you are absolutely right, Longshot has done the same countless times before too <3

I think Hunter being force sensitive isn’t talked about enough. I’ve seen a few fics here and there but not enough to form an opinion other than it’s a neat idea. Your thoughts?

Huh, never thought of that? But to be fair, Hunter is another character I haven't thought too much about, comparative to many other SW characters ^ ^;

I guess I think that while it could be a neat idea, I personally wouldn't headcanon/create content with Force-sensitive Hunter, because it would likely muddle and obscure what is a result of his enhanced senses and what isn't, especially since his abilities are, as far as we know, unique and can't be compared to anyone else. But who knows, that might be a fun concept to explore for some!

Late night thought after rereading your winged AU: if the clones already have enhanced eyesight; then what would Crosshairs mutation be?

This is actually an interesting question, because tbh I'm not even sure what Crosshair's canon mutation even is. It's really not as clear as the rest of the Batch. I'm sure it's been debated intensively by people who are much deeper in the Crosshair/TBB fandom than I am, but I always assumed it was a combo of improved vision (though all of them should have good vision tbh), along with fast and improved calculating of angles and directions, and probably an improved spacial awareness...or something, I have no clue haha!

Given that I don't know what his mutation is in canon (and am happy vaguely speculating too, I'm ok without a clear answer!), I couldn't say for any AUs. Though I will say that a sniper who can shoot from the air is no doubt impressive!

Maybe! Who knows, not I! There are a lot of clones I'd like to hypothetically draw, but this is a very casual and relaxed AU for me, and I don't want to make an endlessly long and stressful checklist of things I must create for it ^ ^; If an opportunity comes up and I feel like drawing them, I might! But unfortunately no guarantees.

I won't answer this ask specifically, but I think you'll find that the next two chapters of Take Flight chapters will be very relevant to your question!

They're connected 2-part fic chapters, and Part 1 was posted on Patreon roughly a month ago, and Part 2 just went up today! Part 1 will probably be posted on AO3 sometime in the near-ish future.

For my favorite clones I have to go with Rex and Wrecker. We see Rex grow so much as a character and see him go through so much that adds to his character. He is first to charge into battle but becomes the last to leave the battlefield to make sure no one gets left behind. He’s another big brother and friend to Ahsoka. With Wrecker he is a big child that wears his heart on his sleeve, fiercely loyal and protective, and loves food. I love his relationship with Omega and it always makes me smile when I see them together

💙 Rex - It's so true that we get to see Rex grow! I think the change isn't as apparent as Ahsoka, who we see from her first battle onwards, because when we're introduced to Rex he already seems a very experienced soldier. But we see him grow jaded as he loses more of his brothers, as he's forced to question what loyalty to the Republic/the Jedi means, etc. He's very 3-dimensional!

🖤 Wrecker - I love Wrecker too, and the gap between his massive tough guy exterior and sweet, childish interior makes him really appealing as a character! I wonder if his mutation is such that unlike most of the other clones, while his body physically matured at an accelerated pace, his mind is closer to what his actual age is (that is, considerably less than 13 at the time of TBB S1). That would certainly explain why he often seems to be on the same wavelength as Omega!

Ok ok time for a fun question(if someone hasn’t asked this yet) between Crosshair and Longshot which one is the better sniper?

Longshot Realistically, Crosshair, since his sniping abilities is specifically why his genetic mutation is considered advantageous.

But there are plenty of other skills and characteristics where I'm sure Longshot would come out on top, despite being a standard CT that I'm sure Crosshair considers inferior.

Asher is a perfect name for the slayer. How did you come up with it?

Okay so first, story time... for the longest time, from what I gleaned from the games and from hearsay... I always thought Wolfenstein and Doom were two games in the same universe just as different points in the same universe. And this was only made worse when I occasionally saw posts pointing out that Doom Guy in Doom 2016 had the same face model as BJ Blazkowicz (?).

So when Wolfenstein 2 came out and we found out that the main character has Jewish ancestry, I got it in my head that him and thus DG were Jewish and just sort of latched onto it. (I STILL DON’T KNOW IF THEY ARE??? ID SOFTWARE PLEASE I’M DYING)

So I wanted to pick a Hebrew name for DG and I wanted to pick something with a light hearted/cute meaning because DG would rock it and because the dude is just a big cutie that loves rabbits, pizza, comics and reading books. So I looked around and ended up falling in love with Asher because it means ‘happy, or blessed’.
