i got an ask from what i believe to be one of the same scammers you have posted about before with the url immariaanszz

asked me to answer privately and message the account, very new account, similar naming scheme as past accounts, i have blocked and deleted the ask, but since it seems to be the same person i thought it might be worth to send you the username, thank you for what you do!

For anyone wondering, it’s another scammer pretending to be in Palestine who keeps taking pictures from news sources and changing urls. Don’t send them money via Zelle.

as always, please block and report these blogs, and more importantly, warn your friends, mutuals, and followers if you see them reblogging their scam posts. if you see a donation post/blog that you believe may be a scam, please do look their url up first on the tumblr search bar to see if someone has already called them out. i will try to update this post with the scammers' new accounts/url as we discover them. please also go to @kyra45's blog, as they are faster and more thorough in updating about newly discovered scams.

some red flags to look out for before sharing donation posts/donating:

new blog, or a couple years old but has only a few random, sporadic posts

backdated posts

spamming asks to a lot of other users, even the ones they don't know or have just followed, and even when the user has made it clear they don't want to receive requests to boost dono posts

is asking you to answer their asks privately, or is sending you a message directly

is straight up asking you for money, and usually for impossibly large amounts

do not put their paypal/money transfer links on their post itself, usually claiming it's to protect their 'privacy'

is using Zelle for their money transfer account, especially if the person is claiming to be in Palestine

please don't be so quick to entertain donation requests and to give away your money, especially if the user ticks a lot of these boxes. if you are familiar with the place they say they are from or the language they are supposed to speak, try conversing with them for a bit to see if their claims would hold. you can also browse my 'donation scam' tag or kyra45's blog to compare if the user has any similarities with past scammers that we've discovered.

that's it po. let's all try our best to look out for each other and make sure that our resources are going to the actual people in need, especially in the case of Palestinians asking for help. the last thing they need right now is for shitty lowlifes to use their suffering to make a profit.

I believe this @immariaanszz is a scam account posing as Palestinians in Gaza to get donations. How doyou verify what's a scam?

Do not start a fundraiser for that account. They are not in Palestine and are taking advantage of anyone who doesn’t know they’re a scam artist. They keep changing urls when called out and already have gotten one person involved who wasn’t aware of the scam. The person has refunded the funds back to those to sent it.

The account has been under the following urls:

The account is stealing images off real people and passing it off as theirs.

To explain how crazysjoji is a scammer, it’s because they originally used that pfp on a now deactivated account where they was going around asking people for money for a funeral but specifically targeted someone who had donated to immariaanszz. The deactivated account was called imjoaaanofficialw.

Does that pfp look familiar? It’s the same one used by crazysjoji meaning they had to already have that image saved for some reason. As for immariaanszz, it was an account who had a post up claiming to be Palestine and talked about how poor the conditions were alongside saying her father had been missing for some time yet all the images she posted were ones she was taking off Facebook. immariaanszz was messaging people asking for money on the spot claiming her friend ‘Joanne Macalam’ was helping her get money.

The issue was the friend had already been seen helping a previous scammer who got called out for stealing images and had also backdated posts to look like an old account. That account was fairyfungirl. Who also got defensive when evidence showed she had been lying to users and had been harassing them for money even when told no. She also targeted me personally and made a blog specifically to try and say I’m a scammer (dedicatedtokyra) even though I was not the original person to call her out for stealing images.

When someone confronted imjoaaanofficialw about immariaanszz asking for proof that immariaanszz was legitimate, imjoaaanofficialw got defensive instead and blocked the user who had already been scammed. Which is funny considering she messaged them first wanting more money for a funeral and would have only known about them if she had interacted with them once before. Regardless, she was adamant that she was just a victim of immariaanszz who just took advantage of her kindness and therefore she was going to block them because they were reasonably angry while claiming she had talked to Marina on Telegram.

In more recent times, the account called samitsposts contacted someone and got them to make a fundraising post for her saying she was in Palestine and tumblr keeps removing her accounts for no reason. She had sent them an ask requesting them to message her privately (An ask she had sent someone else before). Thankfully the user found out the link to past scams and refunded the money sent to the original donators.

However, this makes it seem like Marina is now trying to get other people in trouble and have them get the money so there wouldn’t be a direct link to the ‘friend’ account which is likely her own. She’s just pretending that the ‘friend’ is someone else.

crazysjoji also messaged someone asking them to make a fundraising post for her claiming her name is Mirah (or that her friend needing help is Mirah it’s not really clear since she yelled at a friend claiming she’s just helping someone who had asked for help). What makes this name peculiar is that it’s seen as part of these removed accounts:

The images sent to prove she’s legitimate were images that are from other sources. For example, one of the tent pics is taken off someone else’s Facebook page and isn’t an image she took by herself. It’s an image she’s stolen and is trying to pass off as her own. The story she gives about a father being missing is the same one that was used by immariaanszz originally.

crazysjoji has chances to come clean regarding the situation, but instead they won’t. They’ve changed the dates of their very few posts to make their account look old but it was likely only made one day ago as of this post. Further proving they are being deceptive and not entirely truthful as you don’t ‘accidentally’ backdate posts. And if her and Mirah are two different people, it’s still a scam because Mirah is using the same tactic she’s used on other accounts and crazysjoji continues to allow the scam to go on.

Also immariaanszz (the original scam account) blocks actual Palestinian bloggers from any new accounts she makes. Mainly those who verify the validity of someone who is claiming to be in Palestine.

This has been a long post, but feel free to come to your own conclusions. Don’t harass crazysjoji, just move on and take caution. If they message you wanting you to fundraise for them, don’t do it. Do not contact them if they send you an ask requesting private answers. Do not send money to anyone claiming their fundraising for ‘Mirah’ who’s in Palestine with a father missing for months. If you did, please ask for a refund and donate to a verified charity or source.

I never posted about them before, but the account deactivated and the other one linked to them is gone but keeps coming back under new usernames.

imjoaaanofficialw was the same scammer as immariaanszz. Likely was sending out DMs claiming to need money for a funeral. Has been known to steal Palestine images for themselves across their other blogs.

Keep an eye out for the name “Joanne Macalam” it’s the supposed friend who claims she was taken advantage of but blocked someone who confronted her when asking for proof. Known to use Venmo but may have a PayPal under the same name but have yet to confirm what it is properly. She also steals selfies for her pfp to pass off as herself across the money apps. The name also may ask to use Zelle.
