silvercandle is by far the funniest semi-canon implied ship in ii and its pure hilarity is honestly the biggest reason its one of my absolute favorites. they hate each other. they're inseparable. silver can't even be in the same room as candle because it makes him worse. they're dating. they're bitter exes. they're complicated. they're toxic. they've irreversibly changed each other for better And for worse. candle is cheating on him with the pretty girl next door. silver knows this. silver doesn't think she's cheating. silver doesn't think they're together. they Are together. no they're not. yes. no 🩷

I love the idea of some of the contestants becoming the family they never had for eachother.

You've mentioned Soap and Mic being like sisters once and honestly I can see that, some of their interactions feel very much like siblings like the picture and even her meeting Taco for the first time, speaking of Taco, her reaction to Tacomic would probably be somewhere between sibling teasing the other about their crush and 'out of all the women on this island she's the one you have a crush on?'

I see a few headcanons of her becoming an older sister figure to Tissues too but I see that dynamic becoming more caring older sister than her dynamic with Mic.

Tea Kettle is an obvious one because that's basically what she was made for in the first place she's willing to be a mother to anyone honestly.

I sort of see Lifering taking up a guardian role to some people not particularly parental but in the way if someone needs help (mainly medical) he'll be there for them.

I see quite a bit of SilverCandle art/fics have them as somewhat parental figures for YinYang and honestly I really like that, I'm not sure if they'd have this dynamic in canon but it's sweet all the same.

And obviously Bot being Fan and Test Tube's kid, the only way I can see this not happening is if Bot doesn't see them as parents because they didn't like being made as a replacement for not only Bow but Egg too but I like to think that they become a little family anyway Bot still has things to learn, about themself and other things and I like to think Fan and Test Tube would help them to be their own person after forcing them to be someone they're not at first.

I like to think Ballpoint also became a bit of a father figure to Mephone4 but nobody ever actually admits it I feel like this would stem from getting the approval from Ballpoint that he wanted from Cobs though.

That's pretty much all I have (excluding Cobs and 4 but that's not really family in the way the rest are also at this point Cobs is probably a decomposing possibly eaten corpse) but if you have any than it'd be nice to hear about them if you'd want to talk about them (:

I really love to see Soap and Mic as sisters!!! Not only because of their voice actors, though that is a part of it, but also for how they interact and help each other. Mic throws Soaps cleaning supplies into the river, a little sisterly tough love, yeah? And how Mic tells Soap about her experience with Taco, and Soap keeps that secret for her and supports her as she's healing!!! Truly the sisters of time.

Her and Tissues forming a bond is a sweet idea too!! I'm not sure I'd read them as family, but regardless they should interact, especially with Soap having improved a lot with her germaphobia and how the reveal changes the way they all look at Tissues, yeah?

Tea Kettle will absolutely be adopting every single one of them. No more to say for her she adopts everyone she is group Mom end of story. I think it would be funny if Nickel accidentally calls her Mom once, both for the voice actor joke (as you can see I love those) but also because he'd die inside and it would be funny.

Lifering would be a good guardian for everyone!! His medical knowledge is so, so very vital to everyone's survival. He would be oh so very appreciated by everyone.

I think Candle would definitely be a caring presence for Yin-Yang, but not Silver. Silver and Yin-Yang don't seem to get along like that, as is especially shown in Spring on the Breakfast, yeah? I don't see Yin-Yang feeling super positive on Silver for quite a bit after that. They do interact in the finale, though, so that's something at least.

It's implied that Bot sees Testy and Fan as their parents in the show anyways, there's that lively clip of Fanmily confirmation, and even if Bot has some complicated feeling towards them, that's not super uncommon in parent-child relationships, yeah? They both seem to have a lot of love for Bot, and each other, so I am fully on the fanmily train. I also enjoy thinking of Painty and Lightbulb as their auncle and aunt!!! :) Painty is so supportive of them, yeah? The three of them have that genderqueer solidarity (canonically. fanonically testy and fan can be whatever gender your heart desires.)

I see people liking to present Ballpoint as a father figure to Mephone, though I can't say I see it as much as some people based on their canon interactions. This goes more into what Ballpoint represents about Cobs, but I'm sure there's a level of parental approval that Mephone wants from Ballpoint, but this seems to me to be due to how he made Ballpoint rather than an actual bond the two share.

As for familial bonds I see! I can't say I have a ton, since I'm not super close with my family, so I tend to prefer friendships!!! But I'll offer up these two :)

Blueberry and Trophy would be the most annoying brothers of all time. Making themselves out as the "alpha males" of the island, continuously calling each other "bro" like an only child trying to write siblings. Talking shit about the others. They're insufferable <3

I really like to see Cabby as a big sister to Goo and Bot!! :) Cabby carrying Goo through the red line game and letting him sit on her head multiple times during the show, and even their less pleasant interactions during I Am Chocolate reads like an older sister/little brother dynamic, coming from someone with an older sister. How she talks to Test Tube for Bot in Spring on the Breakfast and Bot stands up for her to Testy later on in Blue Buried? They give off sibling vibes to me and I love them.

okay but genuinely. for one I don't see how it is as popular as jt is because they genuinely don't even have a great dynamic in canon. they're literally so toxic in canon and not even the fun angst toxic it's just. boring.

on a note unrelated to actual canon our silver alter literally has traumatic (they're blurry, but still enough) memories of candle doing. let's just say some horrid stuff to him. I'm not gonna go into any more detail than that for the sake of everybody's sanity.

we have to be careful around silver content when she's fronting because a lot of it is untagged silvercandle content and it genuinely sends them into a spiral.

sorry i dont have tumblr (i only use it to stalk cabby art LOL) and idk if youll answer this but i am known as the cabby yapper by my friends so i wanted to bring this up to someone who thinks about her as deeply as me

do you ever like think about how terrifying mephones plan for a season 4 would have been to cabby specifically? out of all of the final 3 she has been hurt by the game the most (with no closure mind you unlike balloon), i think having to go through everything again would genuinely break her. even if shes less misunderstood the game still puts pressure onto her to be a facts machine, a strategist. when shes literally the kindest person ever, trying to comfort silver (despite his constant mistreatment of her), and sacrificing almost every post merge challenge for the sake of somebody else (i.e giving up her inani-mate for yinyang, sacrificing herself in episode 13 to put herself on the line with yinyang even if she was manipulating them out of obligation, AND EPISODE 15 SHE DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE WON IF SHE HAD USED HER FILES and completely foiling blueberrys plan, but she didnt because she cared about bot)

in the episode when shes reading the file, the screen actually starts shaking a little. implying she was absolutely horrified at what she was reading. and she had every single right, especially considering what shes gone through.

the other thing that’s absolutely insane to me is the fact that this information was conveyed to her via a file. aka her disability aid, something she relies on. that mustve been horrifying to see something so person to her used against her in such a way.

😭 I was for real thinking about that earlier today like hasn’t she been through enough… Yes Cabby is a very competitive person but after everything that happened to her in this season and the fact that she’s Still in a vulnerable place right now I don’t think she would find it particularly enjoyable to not receive a prize and then immediately be thrust into a new season of competition— and as a team leader, no less.

Test Tube thanking her for apologising was,,, weird to me. I literally rolled my eyes. It gave me the impression that she (and Paintbrush) think Cabby *should* be apologising to everyone for making some of them uncomfortable? And I just don’t agree. As polite as it is, I think it’s way overstating her actions. Like… why is it “right” to apologise to the entire jury for her past behaviour making “some of them uncomfortable” pre episode 7 when she had never even worked with half of them when said behaviour was supposedly occurring? It’s so frustrating to me, like… how much smaller does she have to make herself for them to be satisfied? I don’t get it.

And of course, “making them uncomfortable” thing again comes back to her files. It’s basically impossible for her not to internalise the idea that keeping information is bad because she Might get things wrong (which. Is another thing. As far as we’ve seen, her writing is almost always correct, barring Bot which is an obvious outlier, and erroneously attributing Suitcase turning on her alliance in season 2 to Balloon’s manipulation.) In episode 15 too, aka the worst Test Tube episode to me, she says Cabby thinks everyone is just “what she happened to write down” as if Cabby is careless and doesn’t do her due diligence when writing her files. Which to me directly contradicts her calling Cabby’s Fan file “impeccable” and having “so many notes�� back in episode 2?

And as for Test Tube’s assertion that Cabby would turn on her the moment she stopped being useful, and that she treated everyone like chess pieces on her little board, it really felt like her jumping to conclusions because of what happened with Fan. Because she has done that to no other member of the Pinkers. And there is way less manipulation on Cabby’s part in the show than Test Tube’s irritation would have it seem.

I’m not sure if the writers intentions were to make Cabby as manipulative as Silver from the beginning, but if it was and that’s why this is all going on, well. Mission status isn’t exactly a success to me— the only manipulation she does is in episode 2, when she tries to get Bot to vote out Fan (and presumably the rest of the team as well), and episode 7, where she makes a big show of approaching Silver about how it would be better for him to stack the ice cream because, knowing him to be lazy and careless, it would increase the odds of him screwing up the challenge and make it easier to vote him out.

I’m at least relieved that Test Tube seems to have been thinking about things whenever Cabby says something self-effacing or seems to be nice, because it gives me hope that she may finally realise she’s been taking it too far and maybe Cabby will get an apology, but the fact that she’s been just sitting on it for like 3 episodes by now is killing me,

i just notice so much like…toxic yuri in ii, i dont wanna accuse them of sapphicphobia or lesbophobia bc i dont believe thats the case, but mlw ships (fantube and silvercandle) and mlm ships (nickeloon) get so much positive attention in the show but wlw ships (cabtube and tacomic) get so much negative attention or little attention at all (testbulb and soapmic).

the fandoms disgregard for wlw in general makes me upset especially since cabby was a core character for many lesbians back in feb-april 2022 especially with her exit interview. i get emotional but that’s because cabby means a lot to me, especially since her exit interview came out just when i found out i was lesbian

HONESTLY!!!!!! Theres so much more heavily implied/basically canon content for the straight ships especially and its just like. man.

"But just because they gave fantube a child and everything doesn't mean they're dati-" I mean technically yeah but they're giving a massive amount of attention to that ship with plenty of moments and fanservice for them, even Test Tube straight up getting revenge for Fan against Cabby. Let's not forget the whole meetup thing with Fantube either.

The writers DO notice certain ships being popular and definitely play into that. It's irritating to see people feign ignorance about it when it's right there in front of us.

(I remember seeing a screenshot of Adam tweeting a storyboard of balloon having his hand on nickel with a blushing emoji, but i sadly can't remember where i saw it, i think it was in a deleted tumblr post unfortunately.) (So you're free to take this w/ a grain of salt but if anyone has any information on that. lemme know.)

(There's also the obvious. Silver blushing in ii17 and having a whole scene of him saving her from a shark and everything. I know there's that whole ii18 thing but like, there's no way there isn't gonna be some kind of forgiveness or reconciliation scene after they went out of their way to do all that in the previous episode knowing ii. come on.)

(Test Tube and Fan getting a kid and the crew hyping up the relationship at a convention. Easy.)

Even with some of the more "healthy" wlw ships it's really saddening to see almost nothing for them. ESPECIALLY in season 3, a lot of the female characters have their storylines or biggest moments either revolve around men or they get shoved into a guy's story.

As someone who's been back-and-forth questioning my own orientation, Cabby means an awful lot to me too. In fact, the whole Cabby being betrayed in episode 7 stuff was part of what got me like... VERY attached to her as a character. I don't wanna go into detail, but some parts of it hit VERY close to home.

I've also been thinking.... Cabby is VERY strategic and especially in the earlier episodes she's very serious about the competition. But in ii7...?

She goes out of her way to give a lot of her files to someone she was fighting just a few episodes ago!!! She also doesn't seem to harbor much ill will towards Test Tube either until she realized she was backstabbed!

Now why would Cabby, someone who seemingly only allied "for the sake of the game" do something that could easily backfire so tremendously like that? Why would she put her own possessions on the line in that way for Test Tube?

Haha I dunno. just a thought.
