My favorite thing ever is writing a character drinking coffee to stay awake when coffee has exactly zero (0) effect on me whatsoever so I cant even confirm if that method works

I know Its been awhile since my last update. I would like to share what happened the couple of months ago when I was away. I took NAPOLCOM last April 2022 and I took it seriously. I studied day (after shift) and night so I can passed and hopefully be patrolwoman in the future. You wouldn't believe my journey just to take the exam. I literally went to a foreign city twice with a different language (Ilongo) for appointment. Travelling alone is not that easy. You have to be vigilant with your belongings and make sure you ask the right person on the streets for some addresses you're not familiar with. You have to plan ahead your expenses - I booked the cheapest pension house and eat affordable foods. It's not easy especially if you're on a tight budget.
I wanna share these experiences, so when I look back on my journey of becoming a patrol woman I can read it and will always be grateful I made a good decision. My sister pushed me to take the NAPOLCOM exam so I can have an option and choose the practical way. I have been working for a BPO company for a couple of years. It was exhausting and I felt I would never grow up plus the salary is not enough for my family but I'm not complaining, it's just nowadays survival cost money. At first I did not consider my sister's opinion and decided to stay a couple of years here at our company but she consistently called me and told me to give it a shot. Even on the day of my online application, she's under pressure to secure my slot, and viola! she succeeded. :)
Now, let's move on to my preparations - I had two months to read my review material. The first week of the month, obviously I struggled to focus and felt like it was too early to make an effort. Then, again my sister showed up and kept on mentioning me in a different group chat where I can read and engage on Q and A. She has the power to cut off my irresponsible self and focus on the good and now I realized If I choose not to listen and follow her I may regret it as of the moment and I am not here writing this stuff. I am grateful for her because she never let go of my hand and believed in me.
I decided not to waste any time and start reviewing. I made a plan so I can track my progress. Reading day and night is helpful, I know we have different ways of studying but It worked for me. Familiarization, answering questions, posting on the wall and watching videos on YouTube are the basic stuff I did to prepare for this exam. I also recommend buying a review material on a legit store, it costs 500 PHP less shipping fee so save money for your future. It will be worth it anyway.
It is also important not to pressure yourself on the process, you can balance it if you choose too. I make sure I can still go out with my friends between my preparations so that it will not drain my energy. Fresh air helped a lot too. Coffee I advised not into caffeine just a small amount and once a week is not bad either. Rest is a must. If you feel like you're sleepy and can no longer bear the information you're reading, sleep and surely you wake up and feel empty, ready for new information. Lastly, the power of 4-5AM. I chose those hours it worked on me.
1 week before the exam, I keep on feeling nervous. I packed my things, made sure I would bring important documents. One day before the exam, I traveled back to Bacolod and headed to Iloilo. I am a bit scared due to bad weather, I don't know how to swim tho. Lol! sometimes I make things on my mind and end up pessimistic. But, God is in control, I arrived safe and sound. It's good to be back at Iloilo. It's no longer foreign because, Mariel was there ready to help and other friends I met during my online appointment. We saw each other again.
I may not share every single detail of my first and second trip. But, It was a rollercoaster ride and it was one of the bravest things I did so far. I'm lucky I went all through it. Not everyone is capable of traveling and wandering.
The night before the exam, I met some of the people I knew during my appointment and we roamed around a bit in the city to find some snacks for tomorrow. I bought bottled water (to lessen the pressure) a piece of chocolate and biscuits.
Before the exam, we lane outside the campus for proper guidance on our individual room assignment. It's a long lane and the weather is not good as well. But we made it inside our assigned classrooms. We met everyone some are familiar faces and some are not. Everyone is silent and you can feel and see the tension and pressure of everyone's faces. Good thing our proctor is funny she makes us calm and everything seems bearable. We prayed together and focused on our goal.
During the exam, I remembered I breathed heavily before I flipped the first page, I don't know maybe it was my own way to release the pressure I felt. I have no strategy to answer the exam but make sure you budget your time allowance. Before passing the papers if you still have a minute make sure you review numbers by numbers just to assure everything is correctly shaded. You do not miss anything from filling out your personal details.
After the exam we gathered together to claim our personal belongings (bags, phone etc.) and it took an hour before I claimed mine due to a number of examinees. We left the university, tired and hungry. We decided to eat our lunch at SM Iloilo and it was a funny experience because we lost on the way. I laughed now, reminiscing about the details.
It is also the day we separate our ways and go home to our own province. I am confident that I will pass the exam. It took 6 months before the results came out.
By GOD's grace I passed the NAPOLCOM. I was too stunned to speak, I waited several minutes before it sank in and was slowly reacting. I'm too grateful and blessed. Every ounce of my effort during my preparation paid off.
I hope by next year I will see myself busy again for PNP application. I hope I can make it and pray that GOD will place me on the right path. It was a dream and goal to passed and GOD believed in me.
I will update you once I wear my dream uniform..

You stood in front of a door that had gold plaque with #315 and looked down to the ground. Nervously, you started to pull on your (doyoung’s) sweater’s sleeves and sighed. Inside, you could hear muffled sounds of yelling and people running around, and chuckled. You’ve missed being surrounded by so much chaos and noise.
When and where did things change when you, who used to shy away from human interactions, began to crave the close comforts of others? Was it when your friends began to meet more people and hung out with them, not because they simply were just classmates? Maybe it was when you went to the party with them and had to somewhat mingle with the crowd? Or, was it.. possibly because a certain bunny boy with a big gummy smile and caffeine running through his veins?
Yeah, that’s it. It was him. He slowly chipped away at your guarded heart and showed you that there isn’t anything to be scared about it. The only scary thing to life is missing opportunities that it can offer and he told you that exact same thing.
The night Doyoung confessed to you, dread filled over you because you weren’t sure why anyone would like you? Especially, not when you blocked him after him being so nice to you. You remembered crying in Taeil’s arms because you were so afraid of getting hurt again and that maybe, he too will just get bored and go away. Afraid that once he knew what happened would change his mind and that’s the last thing you wanted to happen. You’ve grown to love his presence to the point that a day without him, makes your heart ache. His smile, his intelligence, and even his sass pulled you in like gravity. If Doyoung was the sun, you were a planet stuck in his orbit that can never go astray because he was gravitating.
You remembered Taeil trying hard to get you to repress your feelings, but it only hurt you more because you’ve fallen deep. For three hours, you and Taeil kept going back and forth, digging up past traumas as well as convincing how pure Doyoung’s soul is, but both of you were stuck. One was trying to protect the other, while the other is trying to grow from the past. But at 2AM, with you curled up to Taeil’s side and him rubbing your back, he sighed and turned to you. He apologized for holding you back and for essentially keeping the past chained to your ankles, despite wanting you to also grow. The thought of being replaced blinded him with jealousy and loneliness that he convinced was just love and care for you.
More tears were shed between you two as you both comforted each other that no matter what happens, you guys will still be the best of friends, family. He was the dorky older brother that you’ve never had and protected you when you were bullied... and even protected you after Donghee. You thanked him for all that he’s done and you wouldn’t be where you are right now, if it weren’t for him, but you also had to learn to defend for yourself and rely on your own conscious. Taeil nodded and told you that he’d always be here with open arms whenever you need comfort, but you were right. He couldn’t hold your hand and guide you to where you need to go; that is something you have to do yourself.
You both grew tired from the push and pull and decided that maybe it’s time to go to sleep. Taeil began to sang your guys’ favorite song before placing a kiss on the top of your head while you snuggled closer and told him that he’s the best fake brother a fake sister could ever ask for.
The next few weeks were hard. You couldn’t bring yourself to see him, nor talk to him. You ended up having to mute his notifications because you couldn’t read his texts of him waiting for you, or ordering your drink + snack. You knew it was pathetic and you felt pathetic. You tried to dodge Sicheng and Johnny about it, as well as the other guys’ texts. The one person who didn’t really pressure you was Taeyong and you were grateful for that. You just told everyone that you just needed space and that maybe you’ll talk to Doyoung one day, but today wasn’t the day.
That was an excuse and you were just a coward. You were hoping that he proved you right by moving on but a part of you wanted to be proven wrong. It wasn’t until last week when he stopped texting you and you were disappointed, but what do you expect? He has been giving you all of him while you only give him part of you, hoping that he wouldn’t notice the other parts hidden. You can’t blame him for giving up.
No one bothered you about it anymore and you thought that maybe everyone’s just tired of this and moved on. Not a bad thing because then maybe you could heal faster, but Taeyong asked you why you haven’t messaged Doyoung and it hit you like a truck. Taeyong’s been Doyoung’s friend since growing up, so why has he been so nice to you? What if he’s upset at you for hurting his friend and trying to get back at you? What if he’s going to go behind your back and spread rumors like Donghee? What if Doyoung believes him and starts hating you?
You began to spiral in negativity, until a loud crash in the apartment brought you back to reality.  You gulped and had to mentally pump yourself to just knock on the damn door. Once you knocked on the door three times, silence took over inside the apartment and the only thing heard was your heart beating loudly against your chest. You grimaced when no one came to open the door and you were about to knock again, but you heard it unlock and open slightly with no one to greet you.
Only darkness. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion before you let out a small “hello?” You cautiously pushed the door open and still met with darkness. Your eyes squinted to try to make out the objects in the guys’ apartment and you were met with small flickering of lights.
A chorus of voices began to sing happy birthday as it came closer and you saw Doyoung holding a cake, with the rest of the guys’ surrounding him. You stood there, shocked with tears on the brim of your eyelids.
“well go on. Blow on the candles, y/n.” Doyoung said, pulling you out of a trance. Your heart leaped at the sound of his voice. Oh how you’ve missed his voice.
You shakily blew out the candle and the boys clapped loudly.
Home. You thought and a smile began to form, as you looked at their faces, before lingering on a particular boy that you love so much.

Shklance -- Morning
As always, I did NOT edit and revise this, and it probably shows lol. But hey, I wrote this one while watching Disney music clips on Youtube with my baby sister, so at least I had fun and totally enjoyed myself. In other news, I hate myself today. I also worked 60 hours this last week. Those two facts aren’t really related, but they probably should be.
-------------------------
Morning
Saturday morning in the Shirogane household is usually a quiet affair. Shiro is often the first one up, usually up even before the sun. He was unwilling to leave his husbands in the bed behind him, but he loved watching them cuddle into each other and nudge into the warm space he left. He watched, a soft smile playing on his lips, as Lance turned to nuzzle sleepily into Keith’s chest. He was careful to make sure he didn’t wake either of them up, before he headed down to the dimly lit kitchen.
The next hour was spent in relative silence, simply sipping his coffee as he watched the sunrise through their bay window. Soon after the sunlight began to warm and wake up the world, Keith appeared at the doorway, making a beeline for Shiro and his nearly-depleted mug. His eyes were bleary, and his hair was sleep-ruffled, but he snagged the coffee and downed what was left, handing it back to Shiro to wash. Shiro chuckled quietly but relented with only a simple kiss pressed to Keith’s head. Keith grunted in protest, too tired for a bigger struggle or argument.
Rather than wash the mug, Shiro refilled it with more coffee and passed it to Keith again. Keith only blinked at him, but Shiro knew that he was grateful. He took a moment to enjoy the beautiful sight of a sleepy Keith standing in front of him all sleep-ruffled. The morning sunlight was playing across Keith’s face in a way that made him fall in love with the boy all over again.
As Keith caffeinated himself, Shiro set to preparing breakfast. Lance always adored having French toast on Saturday mornings, and Shiro knew that since he and Keith had gone grocery shopping the previous day, so he was sure Lance would’ve grabbed the proper ingredients. He started working on the toast, also cooking some bacon and eggs, favorites of Keith’s. He loved the feeling of being able to provide for his two loves.
Keith sat in silence, enjoying the simple sounds of Shiro at work in the kitchen. Usually, Lance was the one to cook for them, but in the mornings, especially on the weekends, they all knew that Lance preferred to sleep in as late as he possibly could. It was just one of his quirks. When he noticed that Shiro was close to being ready, he stood, and he set his mug by the sink before reaching into their fruit bowl and grabbing a few of their favorites, knowing fruit was something Shiro loved to indulge in. Where he didn’t go for a run this morning, he would want to eat a little healthier today, Keith knew.
He pulled a cutting board out and started slicing and chopping fruit up to make a salad for the three of them. He could hear the muffled sounds of Lance moving around, getting up for the day. Shiro and Keith exchanged a soft look, knowing that soon their third love would be joining them.
The silence was broken by Lance’s arrival, though no one was upset by that. Quiet music was streaming from Lance’s phone, complementing the peaceful atmosphere of the morning hour. Lance picked up Keith’s discarded mug, moving easily around Shiro and Keith to fill it with some coffee of his own. He pressed a gentle kiss to the back of Keith’s neck. Then he plastered himself against Shiro’s back, draping himself over him fully and comfortably. For Lance, anyway. Shiro found it harder to move yet didn’t have it in him to tell Lance to move or to move him himself. Luckily, Keith quickly finished his work with the fruit and took Lance from Shiro, scooping him up and carrying him over to the table. Lance sat compliantly with Keith, sleepy eyes looking barely even aware of his surroundings. Keith occupied himself with running his fingers through Lance’s hair and scratching at his scalp, enjoying the curls and messiness from a good night of sleep.
By the time Shiro was ready to bring the food over to them, Lance was looking more awake. Shiro felt a warm feeling tingle in his chest as he gazed at his two beautiful boys. He was so gone for the both of them, and that feeling only intensified as Lance animatedly started talking about their plans for the day. Keith laughed and obliged him, confirming plans as they talked. Shiro enjoyed watching them interact, love swelling up.
It was his pleasure to be there for his boys.
