OMG!!!! The groups that are going on peak time are so insane. Like how did they even pick whose on there cause you've got absolute nugus that literally no one has heard of but you've also got Atbo who are decently known to anyone keeping up with boy group debuts this year...I'm so looking forward to both the show and everything you've got to say on it!
like i NEED people to know the sheer insanity of the groups that are (currently) in the lineup. there is:
dkb - debuted 2020
ntx - debuted 2021
bae173 - debuted 2020
atbo - debuted 2022
ghost9 - debuted 2020
mont - debuted 2017
dgna - debuted 2010
vanner - debuted 2019
bdc - debuted 2020
24k - debuted 2012, but is on like their fifth lineup change and have none of the original members
blk - debuted 2017, DISBANDED 2018
masc - debuted 2016, DISBANDED 2020
in2it - debuted 2017
bxb - literally hasn't even debuted yet, but this is apr project aka all former trcng members and they debuted in 2017
and approximately TEN MORE THAT HAVENT BEEN ANNOUNCED YET
i truly think they pulled in every group that applied bc the spread is fucking crazy and how else could they have chosen TWENTY FOUR groups (at least that's my theory about the total since they're all assigned a time and the show's called peak time). i know the audition call was for bgs that struggled or debuted during the pandemic so i was expecting all the flops from 2019-2020 but dgna????? masc??????? literally any flop bg from any era is liable to show up on this show now

[INTERVIEW] X Factor with AleXa
Tumblr media
Whether it’s the country break-up songs of Carrie Underwood, the simple folk tunes of Woody Guthrie, or the smooth rhythm and blues beats of The Gap Band, Oklahoma music spans the symphonic spectrum. But recently, a star from the Sooner State exploded onto the pop culture scene, proving to the world that Okies can do just about anything.
Some years ago, Alexandra Schneiderman was just a regular kid growing up in Tulsa. Her mother encouraged her to join the cheerleading squad at Jenks High School, just like she did during her youth in South Korea. The young Schneiderman also participated in competitive show choir and theater. She knew from a young age that she was born to perform, but what shape that would take started to form in 2008.
“My best friend and I were in Chinese class together, and the teacher asked us to do a project over Chinese pop culture,” she says. “And at the time there was a K-pop group that had a Chinese unit, so my friend turned to me and said ‘Hey, let’s do the project over this K-pop group,” she says.
Schneiderman had never even heard of the genre, but she was instantly hooked.
“Upon first seeing the spectacle that is K-pop, I fell in love immediately,” she says. “The concept of not just singing, not just dancing, but the visuals, the aesthetics, the choreography—it’s just this entire package.”
From there her passion grew as she began listening to groups like Super Junior and SHINee: She even started an Instagram account dedicated to doing dance and song covers of K-pop music that ended up amassing fifty-two thousand followers.
After studying musical theater at Tulsa Community College, she began pursuing her dream of K-pop stardom in earnest. She adopted the stage name AleXa, and started preparing to go to South Korea.
“I actually taught myself at home how to read and write the Korean alphabet,” she says.
From 2016 to 2018 she competed in dance competitions and Korean reality shows such as Produce 48, Rising Legends—where she placed number one in the dance category—and the TV show Legendary: Making of a Pop Star. She was then signed as the first act under ZB Label, an artist management subsidiary of famous K-pop music video production company Zanybros, and began training and language lessons.
In October 2019, AleXa’s debut single “Bomb” peaked on Billboard’s World Digital Sales List at number seven. Since then, AleXa has been a rising star within the K-pop industry. She’s collaborated with groups such as Dreamcatcher and In2It; she’s verified on social media platforms Instagram and TikTok with followers reaching more than 1.6 million combined; and her music videos have gotten upwards of forty million views around the world.
And AleXa’s star seems to be growing brighter every year. On March 21, she represented Oklahoma in the first round of the American Song Contest on NBC. An absolutely electric performance of her song “Wonderland” earned her a spot in the semifinals, and on May 9, she beat out every other state in the nation—including those represented by Michael Bolton, Jewel, and Macy Gray—to become the competition’s first winner. Even as she storms the world stage, AleXa still has Oklahoma on her mind.
“I have so many memories of horseback riding, picking blackberries . . . there are so many beautiful, scenic places that Oklahoma does feel like your own Wonderland,” she said in her introduction video for the competition.
In fact, one of her personal goals is to perform at the BOK Center in Tulsa and elsewhere in her home state.
“I also think it’d be fun to do a college campus tour, maybe hit up OSU, OU, TU, or Edmond,” she says.
It’s hard to say what AleXa will be doing in the future or where her talent will take her, but it’s clear that wherever she goes, she’ll take plenty of yeoljeong—passion in Korean—and Okie pride with her.

7. Top 5 Underrated Boy Groups
these are in no particular order lol theyre all some of my ults or favourite groups
Boys Republic
TREI
Cross Gene
IN2IT
VAV
The first two are two of my ult groups lol; but TREI have disbanded; debuting in 2019 and disbanding early 2020 lol they honestly had so much potential but banana culture is a shit show lol
and Boys Republic have been on "indefinite hiatus" since 2018, lowkey I'm praying and hoping for something from them, I don't think it'll happen but idk...i still love them with my whole heart and would do ANYTHING for a comeback from either or both groups djdjfj😫😫
and the other 3 are in various states of incompleteness lol.
IN2IT are on military hiatus after leaving their company and going independent, but theyre all still very active on sns and stuff lol and honestly have a pretty decent intl fanbase
Cross Gene have lost multiple members and are on militery hiatus too (they say theyre waiting until theyre done with the military to discuss future plans but...realistically, its not looking good lol) which is a shame bc theyre such a hidden gem of the 2.5/early 3rd gen, they honestly have one of my favourite discographies lol.
VAV are probably rhe one most people know lmao, theyre doing the "best" out of all of them lol, they're the most active out of all of them lmao, their last comeback wasn't that long ago and they do have a pretty sizeable intl fanbase lol, they just deserve more djdjdjd
(Also some honourable mentions I also love but aren't my top lol.)
MAP6
IZ
24K (I'm talking like 2012-2017 lol, I don't know too much about their like...new generation lol)
idk why this ended up so long I'm just passionate about supporting underrated groups lol I could go on and on about so many different groups lol djdjfj

The Ultimate Boygroup Masterpost That Nobody Asked For Part 1/2 (A - M)
Part 2 (N - Z + group names with numbers)
I literally don’t have a life so here is every kpop boygroup ever (consisting of at least three members, besides maybe B.O.Y) sorted both alphabetically (kinda) + their debut date and linked to their latest (or any) MV.
Disbanded groups will be bolded. However since the status of some of these groups is kinda unclear and sometimes the information I found was mixed on wether or not they’re still a thing I MAY be wrong.
If there’s a group I forgot or if you notice a mistake in terms of debut date, disbandment, wether I put a group several times or anything else really; feel free to drop by my ask-box and tell me!
There are some groups like for example YGs ‘Treasure’ which I did NOT add to the list YET. This is because they have not officially had their debut yet.
I decided to add several project groups like UNB or SuperM. However this list does not include sub-units of already existing groups like the various NCT sub units (besides WayV), Nu’est W, High420 etc.
