When it started pouring (x Inpyo)

IN2IT’s Inpyo

Word count: 700 words

Scenario: Misfortunes while going out on a shopping date with Inpyo.

Genre: One shot, Soft, Fluff, Genre neutral

Little note: Head empty just soft Inpyo with cold fingers.

You were cursing everything as you walked down the street to meet up with Inpyo. Everything. The sidewalk, the crosswalk, the bus stops, the trees, and the wind. Especially the wind. It was a very gloomy and windy day and it felt like you were being dragged around by gusts of wind rather than walking. It tugged at your clothes no matter how you wrapped your jacket around yourself, and you didn’t even want to think of how messy your hair most likely was.

You were meeting up with Inpyo as you two had decided to go shopping that day. From time to time you two would go out and go up and down shopping districts looking for good prices and a good time. However, if the weather continued to turn on you, you suspected you weren’t going to have a good time out on the streets.

As you walked down the street you could see through teary eyes Inpyo coming up the street to meet up with you. You could clearly see he wasn’t having the time of his life either with the way he struggled with the wind himself.

“Hi!” he called out when he saw you, lifting one of his hands to wave at you but quickly returning it to the front of his jacket to keep it in place.

You did exactly the same thing, lifting one hand to wave back at him but returning it to the front of your jacket right after as it flapped open with the wind. You couldn’t help the sudden giggle that escaped you at your situation as you two finally met up.

“What a mess, aye?” you said, running a hand through your hair although there was no use in doing so.

“Tell me about it.” He chuckled.

He leaned down to greet you with a kiss on the cheek, which you returned with a smile, and stepped onto your side, facing the same direction you were facing.

“So, where do we start?” he mused, eyebrows slightly furrowed as he looked around the street, whipping a few tears away due to the wind.

“There was a store that was on sale, wasn’t there?” You answered, reaching for the pocket of your jacket as you too whipped away a few tears.

You were pulling out your phone to check the store when out of nowhere, rain started pouring from the sky. One second it was just windy and the next it was legitimately pouring like in a cold winter night. You heard Inpyo let out a shocked gasp beside you.

“Oh my god!” you squeaked.

Frantically, you two started looking around for somewhere to hide from the rain, grabbing each other’s hand at the same time when you found a café that had a little spacey entrance, shielded by an open awning. You two took off running, like in the movies, hand in hand, stopping under that little dry oasis.

“Aw man, what a terrible weather,” he complained, brushing off his jacket while he looked out onto the street.

There were people with umbrellas already, as if they had been prepared for that sudden rain. Maybe you should check weather forecasts more often.

“Tell me about it,” you answered, whipping your phone screen on your jeans.

You looked at each other and busted into a fit of laugher at how that silly conversation sounded just like what you had said to each other when you met up, Inpyo reaching out a hand to tuck a strand of your hair back into place.

When you two turned back towards the street, you locked your arm with his and you stood there for a moment, just watching the rain fall endlessly.

“Well…” you sighed out.

“Well...” he answered, with his own sigh.

“Should we just have coffee here?” you offered, looking up at him.

He looked down at you and then back over his shoulder towards the café. You also looked back to check out the inside since you hadn’t even done that. It looked like a nice place, with minimalistic but cozy décor.

“That sounds like a good idea actually,” he agreed.

Instead of unlocking your arms, you two just turned in the most awkward way, with a few giggles, keeping your arms locked as you stepped into the café, you holding the door open for the both of you.

You ordered warm drinks and sat down at a table in front of each other, his hands finding their way to in between yours for you to warm up his cold fingers, your jackets left to dry hung up at the back of your chairs.
