Finish! With the octopus complete, the Ingleside Imaginarium’s Keramos Bestiary is done. I love this pattern so much! It was stitched on 32 count Dill Lugana from Picture This Plus and I took these pictures outside in the shade so the color is pretty true to how it looks in real life. 

A few small changes from the pattern: - Used Blanc instead of B5200 because I have a cone of it. - Double backstitch! - Removed some rump lines (what can I say, I like a smooth rump). - Changed the centaur’s stick. - Moved the griffon back one stitch so they’re not right on the border. - Added some red to the octopus just for fun. I love all the creatures, but I think my favorite remains the plunging siren, which is what got me to start the pattern in the first place. What’s your favorite?

Done with November’s Topaz! She’s a Horned Serpent, and she’s associated with lightning, thunder, and rain by various Native American tribes including the Yuchi, Cherokee, Muscogee Creek, and Alabama. My favorite part is her tail - it looks like a leaf!

And September is done! This month we have a Sapphire Taniwha, a deity-like creature from Maori culture that could be a protector or a predator (so says my pattern). September’s my birth month, so Sapphire definitely holds a special place in my heart!

WOW it’s been a while since I posted an updated on this. I actually finished June’s Pearl in June, but then had to take out the backstitching on the pearl itself since I had over-backstitched it the first time. July’s Ruby and August’s Peridot fell a little bit by the wayside while I was traveling and busy with work. But now I’m all caught up! I’m working on September now - she deserves her own post since it’s my birthday month :)

The first of August means a new dragon to introduce! This is August's Peridot dragon, the Quetzalcoatl. The name means "feathered serpent." I love those bright yellow greens.
