Audi Avus 

Named after a race track in Berlin, the Avus was not only Audi’s way of previewing its W12 engine and aluminum-intensive construction, but it was also a sign of things to come in terms of a mid-engine supercar.It stole the show back in 1991 in Tokyo with its beautifully crafted body with hand-beaten panels, which were only 1.5-mm thick and were left unpainted as a nod to the Auto Union race cars of the 1930s. The retro twist created a wonderful mélange with the concept’s futurist shape, managing to withstand the test of time as it still looks spectacular even after a 32 years.Thanks to the aluminum-intensive construction and the proprietary Audi Space Frame, the all-wheel-drive Avus Quattro tips the scales at a remarkably low 1,250 kilograms (2,755 pounds). It granted the supercar with a sprint to 62 mph (100 kph) in just three seconds before reaching a top speed of 334 kph (210 mph).However, these are all just hypothetical performance numbers because the concept did not actually have a real W12 6.0-liter engine developing 502 horsepower (374 kilowatts). At that point, Audi was still developing its twelve-cylinder unit, so the Avus actually had a dummy engine carved from wood and plastic.

Even so, it was a marvelous piece of engineering, with three lockable differentials, rear-wheel steering, and a NACA-style duct mounted on the roof. Another interesting aspect is the fact about half of the car’s height was represented by the 20-inch wheels and its tires.

The Avus Quattro concept was never destined to enter production and rumor has it Audi even turned down offers from at least a dozen of potential customers willing to pay as much as $12 million for a road-going version.

Should you want to check it out in all of its mirror-like aluminum body glory, Audi has the Avus Quattro concept on display at its museum in Ingolstadt, Germany.

So viel Kultur macht durstig. Weshalb ich – mangels schnell erreichbarer Supermärkte – in einen zentral gelegenen dm gehe. 1 1/2 Liter Wasser, die ganz schnell weg sind und dieser Bio-Caffè-Latte. Schließlich brauche ich Koffein damit es weitergehen an. Aber ein richtiger Cafébesuch steht noch an. Versprochen!

CIRCUS KRONE PREPARA IL TERZO CIRCO DI NATALE E' una di quelle notizie che circola da mesi, se non da anni. Precisamente, da quando un comunicato era apparso sul sito ufficiale del Krone. Ed ora c'è la conferma. Il tedesco circus Krone sta preparando un terzo circo di Natale, ma le novità non finiscono qua.  Andiamo con ordine: oltre al classico Krone Bau di Monaco di Baviera, dal 2022/23 il colosso tedesco dei circhi, organizza anche il circo di Natale di Wurzburg, il Würzburger Weihnachtscircus, di cui quest'anno (2024/25) andrà in scena la terza edizione.

Da qualche anno la Direzione stava cercando di organizzare un nuovo circo di Natale a Ingolstadt, città della Baviera posta ad un'ottantina di chilometri da Monaco di Baviera. Ed ora la municipalità ha dato il proprio assenso al progetto e con un contratto valido per 5 anni.

La seconda novità è che per Ingolstadt verrà realizzata un nuovo tendone, ad archi esterni e visibilità a 360° all'interno. Tendone che dovrebbe comprendere anche il foyer e strutture varie dell'accoglienza.  Sulla stampa tedesca sono usciti diversi articoli che riportano la news, per comodità ve ne riporto uno esemplificativo del progetto, preso dalla Neuburger Rundschau di qualche giorno fa.

il Circo Krone vuole piantare la sua tenda a Ingolstadt. Senza animali selvatici

Il Circo Krone vorrebbe allestire per diversi anni il suo circo di Natale nella Volksfestplatz di Ingolstadt. Ora la commissione comunale ha dato il via libera.

Il Circo Krone di Monaco è ovviamente molto interessato a venire regolarmente a Ingolstadt . In ogni caso, il comitato eventi ha dato il via libera affinché la compagnia possa rappresentare il suo circo di Natale in città per almeno cinque anni. Il Circo Krone sta progettando un nuovo tendone per il circo di Natale a Ingolstadt Per lo spettacolo che verrà allestito per due settimane durante il periodo natalizio, il Circo Krone investirebbe in un nuovo tendone, la cui speciale struttura lascia libero l'intero campo visivo al pubblico. Krone vorrebbe riprogettare il programma del circo natalizio appositamente per Ingolstadt. Non ci saranno animali selvatici, ma solo acrobazie e abilità artistiche. Da notare che attualmente c'è già un circo di Natale a Würzburg.
