After doing some research on the types of pets people had in ancient Greece, I'd like to imagine that Helen is the sort of person who has a whole menagerie of birds — and she loves each and every one of them very, very much.

It fits well with her being good at mimicry, you know. Talking and imitating and singing with her beloved birds 💜

Once I got a bit experimentative it really came together. #my art #not sure if i wanna tag these... hrm #i wonder if alt text shows up in search results.... shudders #well anyway. i wanna ramble about these!!#for willy mafton: i've been working on designing more of the human cast. mainly all the big name important ones #it's been a slow process + a little challenging but i like getting the chance to practice drawing faces! :]#in regards to His design specifically.. it's very much based off of his movie apperance #but with a reference to that Classic sprite thrown in #bc i thought making him a little cartoony and inhuman would fit him :] but idk im not an expert on his character or anything #about the rabbit lady: i forgot how i had that idea initially but it ended up looking so fucking cool tbh #im always a fan of making her design less of a feminine eye candy type of design and more of a Spooky Murderer type >:3c #it also gave me the idea to try making some similar designs for the glams...#but if i do that im not gonna be giving them that vintage rubber mask look... since they're meant to be super flashy and high tech looking #so i was thinking they could have faces with more of a silicone texture.. and that have a style based more off of their in game art work :]#so they'd be like giant dolls with weird moving faces rather than having a vintage animatronic look #also that van in the bottom middle is 100% a homage to a specific user i wont be mentioning but iykyk HFJZJFJF #ANYWAY the 🌞🌜 stuff: dont be weird about it please HFJZJG #im aware that these tags are very easy to ignore but like. genuinely pls dont be weird about them #dont romanticize it. its not meant to be ''y/ndere'' or anything like that #its actually a bit personal to me so like... interpret it as you like but be aware its not meant to be a happy or positive thing #anyway i think thats all i have to say... i've been trying to branch out a tiny bit regarding the things i draw #it's always nice to challenge yourself even if its tough... especially if its tough!!#i mainly draw just for my own sake but i hope ppl see something they like here #these tags got so fucking long oops... i'll stop now JFKZJFKSJGKSJG

i finally finished my sketch-over of Gelato from the other day, and i'm happy with how it turned out :)

#Gelato #my characters #my art #i wasn't sure how far i'd get with this initially honestly...#but im really happy with how he ended up :)#i feel that i could've probably adjusted some things like the thickness of his legs. or how many fingers he had.#since i was mostly worried about going off-model from his original sketch....#but regardless i think he turned out swell #the sketchovers aren't as indepth as i probably would've wanted in the beginning. but i enjoy how it looks #i was also kinda worried his clothes would mess up his existing colour pallette. but i think i happened upon some fitting colours for him #his boards design is just one of the goopy patterns i do in paintdotnet. ive made a few of them and picked one at random #i probably should've picked a different one though because the colours distract from his swimtrunks #but oh well #his shirts design is somewhat based off the mario sunshine shinesprite shirt. i was initially going to draw the shine sprites but #when i started placing splotches on his shirt. they turned out like pawprints. and so i just pivoted to using those instead #the design on his trunks i kinda had a vague idea of like. palm trees and stuff. but ended up drawing spirals and liking that more #his hair is also a mix between what i had in SFM and how his hair actually looks in Helpers sketch

ignore how lazy I got on some parts of these but! hc designs for Mizuki and Bibi (since I'm like 99% there's no reason for them to look identical at age 18 except the timeline fuckery)

Mizuki:

ok so I gave her a kind of ahoge and hair bits (flicks? idk) at the end of the plaits because I draw them like that. I also originally gave her a belt but it looked bad lol. I gave her a split in her eyebrow since I like the idea of Mizuki experimenting with her appearance a bit, I also changed the shape of Aiba cause it looks cool lol. I gave her some rips in her tights cause I figured they'd get ripped throughout fights and investigations and stuff, and docs instead of her regular shoes because her regular shoes looked stupid icl, and cause I think Mizuki would like stompy shoes. You can't see it on the design but I also draw her with different gloves, painted nails (painted with Iris) and a friendship bracelet (with Iris, Amame and Kizuna) I love giving characters friendship bracelets so much

Bibi:

This design change is pretty drastic since I wanted to make her distinct from Mizuki. Her outfit's still based on the sekiba high uniform, but I made her jacket red and white with sleeves, partially to link to the masked woman's colour pallete and partially to link to Boss. I also gave her an adorabbit pin and a nonbinary pin. Like Mizuki, I changed Aiba's shape. I gave her one plait to a) make her distinct from Mizuki, b) to kind of slightly link to Kizuna since her adult design has one plait (although much shorter) and c) (I only thought of this after and I'm half joking lol) because she's Mizuki 1 so has 1 plait, and Mizuki is Mizuki 2 so has 2. I gave her rips in her tights for the same reason as Mizuki but a few more because she's more quick to anger iirc so would get in more fights, and also again as a slight link to the masked woman's tattered clothes. Finally I gave her sneakers instead of the shoes because the shoes looked stupid, and I figured since she goes barefoot as the masked woman she'd prefer a flatter and lighter shoe than Mizuki's docs. you can't see it here but her gloves would be different too.

I don't know shit about character design btw so these suck but I had fun I may be cringe but I am free
