Hi it's time for my daily Epithet OC infodump session

This time it's my Inscribedsona's turn, Mae Breakeneck!

They are very mischievous and love to cause inconvenience for others, they live among the streets of Sweet Jazz City and spend their days messing with and tricking those who live in the city. While they often don't care who their targets are, they tend to target and find more joy out of the dismay of those with wealth or in high positions of power. Due to their activities, they are wanted and even have a fair bounty on their head, though as hard as the authorities and hunters try, Mae always seems to be able to slip out of their grasp at the last second.

Mae's Epithet is Voodoo and they mainly use it for trickery and/or getting stuff they want free of charge, usually by creating dolls of those they want to manipulate. They are also capable of manipulating their own shadow to effect things on the physical plane, which can only work if the thing they are trying to mess with also has a shadow.

Oh hello a rushed bad Epithet Erased oc I came up with in like a day? yea

Her Epithet is “Scorn”; basically she bullies and insults people to either lessen the effect or damage of their epithet, or drain their stamina and increase her own by decreasing their morale. She can be summed up as an overgrown leech (but she likes the term vampire because they’re like way hotter)

Once she has absorbed enough stamina from someone she can use a skill called “Eagle Eye” where she finds out about an insecurity that she wouldn’t know about other wise and will hyperfocus on that to absorb massive amounts of stamina, leaving most with no stamina or not enough to do much at all.

She also has a passive effect called “Smear Crusade” where if there are atleast 2 people who aren’t enemies around, her insults drain even more.

However, everytime she tries to insult someone, if it doesn’t get enough of an emotional response, then her own stamina will deplete. Her epithet is also not very effective against people who are more confident or have a thicker skin, because it’s harder to exploit their weaknesses. And also one could sufficiently deplete her own stamina by insulting her back if they find one of the plethora of things shes insecure about herself. Or just ignore her or walk away...then her epithet is literally useless.

But where’s the easiest place to annoy and make people feel like crap with 0 repercussions? Where you can find out the most intimate details and weaknesses about a person? The internet! So she spends 99% of her time on some kinda screen. She values people over how niche their memes and stupid stuff like that. calls people normies. she is an emalgamation of all 14 year old 4chan tryhards far and wide.

vic’s epithet allows them to use a little ghost minion/scribe to possess papers and rewrite and change parts. despite this, they dislike their epithet because it means they’re followed around by a weird spirit all the time. they have a significant lack of sleep because of their their buddy (who they call ‘frank.’) frank is an annoying tag-along who does nothing but ruin vic’s life and make them pay for property damage. pretty sad, i know.

 they’re a horror novelist and they’re still just some idiot teen trying to figure out their epithet. i’d imagine that they’ve probably seen sylvie at some point to see if they can get frank to fuck off. so far it hasn’t worked.
