March meet the maker, better late than never right? Day 1&2 So I’ve always been a little reluctant to join in with these things, mainly due to my insecurities and lack of ability to post everyday, but here we are! So I started my venture some years ago now, as I was looking for something to keep my mind occupied whilst going through therapy. I had always adored insects and decided to throw myself into learning to pin. This obviously soon got way out of control and thus Jenna’s curio cabinet was born! I have always found pinning insects and even caring for them and rearing my own, has been rather cathartic. So to be able to make a small business out of it has literally been a dream come true. For a while now, I have wanted to work on some more pieces, specifically anthropomorphising bugs and beetles, but I have always managed to put it off through fear of doing it ‘wrong’. I finally bit the bullet and created a piece using this little chap, Eudicella colmanti. I have titled him, “The plot thickens...” which seems appropriate due to this piece inspiring me to do a 7 part series which I am very excited about!
