unfortunately i lost the digital file for this project. I designed a poster/brochure for a man trying to introduce himself at the gay club. When printing, i lost my digital file and the brochure side was lost. I enjoy the color scheme i used. I also liked how i used shapes to reference paragraphs to titles. I think it adds to the interactivity.

Sunny Side Up Final

For the "Instructional Project" I was asked to design a new and innovative instructional experience for a user.  I chose "How to make sunny side up eggs" and I created an instructional design booklet that goes inside of a plastic box of organic eggs. The target audience for this line of eggs is women from 18 to 28 years old. My design shows how to make sunny side up eggs in an easy and simple way. The color palette that I chose is friendly and the purpose of is to call the attention of the target audience.

Title: How to Mail A Package to A Soldier

Our project was to create and instruction guide for something relatively everyone knows how to do. I chose "how to mail a package" and then decided to narrow that topic to "how to mail a package to a soldier".  I felt that a brochure would be impractical because technology is the main source of information in our society. I chose to create an instructional video to challenge myself and better my skills in AfterEffects and using type in motion.

This was a book designed to instruct women on how to floss. This book was created as a novelty item. It is mean to be sassy, humorous, and classy. There are pictures in the post above displaying the book in it’s 3D form. It was created to be interactive by including a pocket of floss inside the book as well as a mirror.

Instructional Design, Part 2

In addition to the recipe card, I designed an accordion book which included the instructions on how to make migas along with a coupon for Picante Pace Chunky Salsa. The same elements and colors were used in the accordion booklet for the exception of the arrangement which was simplified to fit in a smaller space. The coupon shape and size was designed to fit perfectly on a large Picante Pace Chunky Salsa cap. This project really helped me think outside the box as I was challenged to fit many steps and illustrations in a small constrained area without leaving anything out.

Instructional Design, Part 1

In Graphic Design 2, we were to choose from common tasks that most people already know how to do but put our own twist by creating something new and innovated using instructional design, instructional experiences used to make knowledge and skills more efficient. While being aesthetically pleasing, our design would have to correctly communicate instructions graphically.

My chosen common task was how to make eggs. However, I put my own twist by doing a specialty dish, migas. I chose to do a recipe card and accordion book which included instructions and a coupon. My intention was to do these two creations as part of the brand Pace because I use Picante Pace Chunky Salsa in making my migas. The 4 x 6 recipe card is back and front and the color scheme was chosen to correlate with Pace's branding. The recipe was created with the intention to be passed out at grocery stores where sampling of the salsa was available.
