closed starter for @owenxbentley downtown
With everything now settled with her new house and Darian off at school, Zeynep was doing everything possible to stay busy. Idle time had proven to be too suffocating and while she'd intended to take a fair bit of time off work, she wasn't sure she could stand the empty days in a silent house. For now she was finishing off her cases in New York from afar, all while planning on setting up a new office in Kismet to work out of. Most of the morning had been spent searching online for possible office buildings to rent space in and now she was downtown to start looking into them. Parking her car, Zey shoved the keys into her purse before starting to walk towards one of the buildings, a new construction she'd seen online. Just as she was about to peek in the window, a familiar face came through the door. "Owen?" she asked, head quirked to the side. She knew the man from New York, someone that Ariana had done a lot of business with there. "Is this one of yours?" Her head gestured towards the building they were in front of.

"Shit, shit shit." Luciana said as she looked at her phone. After trusting a friend about this whole stock thing and believing it would help them in the long run, she had put a hundred dollars into it. Now, she was regretting it as she lost not just that, but another hundred as well. She thought this whole business was going to give her money, not take it away. And now she had to figure out a way to tell Owen. She had paced outside his office for about ten minutes before finally going inside and she looked at him with nervous running through her body. "Hey. Do you have a minute?"

closed starter for @owenxbentley location: wonderworld market parking lot
It had been a long day. With guests complaining about the rain (as if that was something Nancy could control) and the stove in the kitchen going down for the day, it was a lot for her to deal with and all Nancy wanted to do was go home, but she was out of a few things and needed to stop at the store. She was circling the parking lot as she was trying to find a spot and finally one came open and she was waiting for the guy to finish backing out when she someone else pulled into the spot. Anger filled her and while she found another place to park, she found the guy and walked over to him. "Excuse me. You took my parking spot."

closed starter for @owenxbentley at the bentley household
Now that she was starting to settle, somewhat, into life in Kismet Harbor, Tanner found herself in more of a schedule. Though she hadn't picked up an official job yet, she had a few more volunteer tasks that she'd taken on to fill some of the time. Even still, there was plenty of free time, and as she biked her way around the neighborhood, Tanner found herself in Emerald Mist nearby Lucy's house. She didn't know if her friend would be home and wasn't going to bother checking, instead opting to just drop in. A knock on the door didn't end up with Lucy coming out, but instead her husband. "Lucy around?" she asked, pausing to tilt her head. "You must be Owen."

Laila spotted him before he spotted her—same hair, same unreadable expression. She crossed the street without thinking twice, a grin already tugging at her lips. “Well, well,” she called out, hands tucked into the pockets of her jacket. “Either I’ve completely lost my mind, or that’s Owen Bentley standing in the middle of Kismet Harbor.”
She stopped in front of him, head tilting slightly. “Didn’t think I’d run into a familiar face from that side of the pond here. What’s it been—seven years? Eight?” Her smile softened just a touch. “Still brooding. Still sharp. Some things really don’t change.”

As they moved to the window, she smiled as she looked out at the ocean. There was still part of her that couldn't believe this was her life, but she wouldn't trade it for anything. Owen made her happier than she ever thought she could be and while she didn't think she deserved this life, she would do everything she could to try to. She was thinking of this when her husband said her name and she watched him go down on one knee. "Owen, what are you..." She said and looked at him before tears lined her eyes. She nodded at him as he finished and grinned more. "Yes. Yes I'll marry you." @owenxbentley

END
He looked at her for a moment in the eyes. "And I love to be your husband," he really did. He knew what he had planned for the night; he was going to make up for everything. He smirked a little. He didn't mind being the only one in the family with the accent, the only guy in the family; he was used to it by now. "Same here, love." She really was. he never thought he would get it; he used to really turn away from the idea of being with one person and love, but she made him know it was true. He smiled at her as they danced, kissing her a few times.
He danced with her for a while, moving around their home to the large window that faced the ocean, in front of which their home was, where he stopped their dancing. "Amazing," he said, stopping so they could watch the ocean, so she fanned the window to look at the water, and he had to do what he had planned.
He took the moment once he knew Lucy was watching the watch to take a step back from her, behind her, and took a breath before he got down on one knee. He wanted to do this for so long; he wanted to make it all right this time. "Lucy...."
"I know... I know we're married, but" he smiled up at her. "I love you so much... you made my life better... You made me a better person," he knew she did. "From that day at the cafe when I was going to go off and say how trashy the place was, and just seeing you made me shut my mouth," he laughed lightly. "So will you marry me...again, but for real this time?" The real wedding this time, he wanted it all for her. He smiled as he showed her another ring in a box. @lucianasbentley

"I appreciate you coming to meet me here," Bradley had not intended to meet with Owen at the the high school, but he had got wrapped up in grading papers. When beginning to organize the fundraiser for scholarships for underprivileged students, he never expected Owen Bentley's name would be tossed to him as a potential donor. He'd always heard the man to be rather cold and business-minded, though his interactions prior were always brief. "I hope it wasn't too much of an inconvenience, but I was hoping we could talk about fundraising for underprivileged students, I want to get a scholarship fund set up for them and your name was recommended to me."

Description
First published in 1917, Satow’s Diplomatic Practice has long been hailed as a classic and authoritative text. An indispensable guide for anyone working in or studying the field of diplomacy, this seventh, centenary edition builds on the extensive revision in the sixth edition. The volume provides an enlarged and updated section on the history of diplomacy, including the exponential growth in multilateral diplomacy, and revises comprehensively the practice of diplomacy and the corpus of diplomatic and international law since the end of the Cold War. It traces the substantial expansion in numbers both of sovereign states and international and regional organisations and features detailed chapters on diplomatic privileges and immunities, diplomatic missions, and consular matters, treaty-making and conferences. The volume also examines alternative forms of diplomacy, from the work of NGOs to the use of secret envoys, as well as a study of the interaction with intelligence agencies and commercial security firms. It also discusses the impact of international terrorism and other violent non-state actors on the life and work of a diplomat. Finally, in recognition of the speed of changes in the field over the last ten years, this seventh edition examines the developments and challenges of modern diplomacy through new chapters on human rights and public/digital diplomacy by experts in their respective fields.

Rohan could fell like Veronica was maybe a bit down, reading and body language and hearing the slight slur of her words. The detective years of training and skills always active and never losing it. He took a seat next to her as Ace sat beside him. He smiled and ordered something to drink, just a light beer before giving Veronica his full attention. Rohan and Owen grow up together, they were best friends and childhood friends. Veronica and Rohan did not interact all that much since she was away at boarding school. "Yup. Moved in September of 2023," he answered with a smile as he watched her. Now he could really see that she had so much to drink. "It seems like you might be having an interesting night." @veronica--bentley
Tumblr media
Her step-sister's wedding had been an absolutely beautiful affair, not that Veronica had expected anything less from Aarin. Of course, the timing of attending the wedding of two people so completely in love on Valentine's Day couldn't be worse. It wasn't that she wasn't happy for Aarin and Marcel. Genuinely, the brunette was thrilled for them. But the timing sucked for her own emotional state. Rufus was on a business trip in Japan and Veronica had been unable to get a hold of him outside of a few one or two word texts. While the younger Bentley had hoped the trip to Kismet would take her mind off relationship woes, seeing a couple so head-over-heels for each other take their vows on the most romantic day of the year had really done a number on her doubts. Naturally, there was one way to cope with such a difficult emotional state: excessive drinking. Veronica was on her fifth...or was it sixth? vodka tonic when someone called her name. Turning slowly she laid eyes on Rohan, deep brown orbs widening in surprise. "Ro? You're here?" She asked, mildly incredulous before remembering Owen had mentioned he did indeed live here now. "...I mean, Hi. Please, sit." She gestured to the seat he'd already taken. The slight slur of her words was more apparent as the volume of her voice increased.

Luciana was trying her hardest not to cry as Gabby screamed. After she was born, she had a rough time sleeping and at first, they all thought it was just normal newborn behavior, but as the weeks progressed, it was getting worse and after trial and error, the baby was diagnosed with colic. Lucy didn't know what to do, not having experienced this with Rowan, and she kept feeling like she was doing everything wrong. It was really getting to her and as Gabby kept crying, it only made it worse. She knew Owen was working and didn't want to bother him except nothing she was trying was working so she walked into his office with a screaming Gabby in her arms and tears lined her eyes. "Help me. Please."

They were two weeks away almost from having their daughter and Luciana was definitely starting to get a little restless and nesting. She was constantly cleaning something and making sure all the baby clothes, blankets, and more were washed and put away just how she wanted them; even having some in their bedroom along with the bassinet. She wanted to be ready and while she was very ready, she kept going over all these things. She was in the laundry room yet again, struggling to get something out of the dry and trying her best to grab the onesie. "Oh, come on." She groaned while trying to reach.

Luciana was all smiles as she walked with Owen and her daughter through the booths and vendors. She was so happy to be able to do family days like this and she was looking forward to their daughter joining them in a few weeks. She held Owen's hand as they walked while one hand was on her bump and Rowan led them over to the face painting booth. "Oh, Row, the butterfly would look cute on your cheek." She said as her daughter looked through the options to get.

"At least the weather isn't too bad." Luciana said as she held Gabby in the baby carrier and watched as Rowan hunted for "fairies". It was a little chilly so she was in a jacket, as was Rowan, and Gabby was bundled up so she'd stay warm. The little one was sleeping and as she was almost three months now, the colic was easing, but no totally away just yet. Luciana was pretty sure the previous night was the first time she had gotten more than three hours of sleep since they left the hospital. "I was thinking after this, we can head down to get some food then over to the mini games? As long as Gabs will let us."

It was so strange to Luciana pulling up to the house with Gabby, but she was so happy to finally bring her daughter home. They stayed in the hospital for a night and discharged that morning, so they were coming home and Lucy sat in the back with the little girl for her first car ride. As the car stopped, she smiled down at the little girl and touched her cheek. "We're here, mi corazón." Her words were soft. "We're home." She swiveled the car seat towards her and started getting the baby out. "You wanna grab the stuff from the hospital and I'll carry her in?"

After the holiday weekend, Luciana called and got an appointment with an OBGYN at the hospital. They were able to get her in on Tuesday and she informed Owen and got off work so they could go that afternoon. Sitting in the waiting room, she rubbed Owen's hand nervously and looked over at him. "I don't know why I'm nervous. I've done this before." She said and took a deep breath. She just wanted everything to be okay. And that for there to actually be a baby and this wasn't some false positive thing and she made them worry for no reason. "How was your day? Distract me a little."
