Okay I know this is late bc this art was released MONTHS ago, but I recently looked at it again and have something to say now. The first time I saw it I was just like "oh that exists" but now I'm looking at it again and I have an opinion. That happens a ridiculous amount with me you have no idea.
Anyway. This:
Tumblr media
It has come to my attention that apparently this looks shippy.
You know what?
This doesn't look shippy to me. It looks like she's saying goodbye. Like she's glad she met him and was friends with him, but now it's time to part ways.
She only took one of his hands. It looks like she's waving with the other. And his left hand is left empty, in a position to accept hers, but she's not putting it there. She's waving at him and letting go.
She's crying. They could be happy tears, since she's smiling. But why would she be happy enough to cry when Deku's wearing that look on his face? I'm not quite sure what it is, but I would say something between surprise and confusion, or possibly neither of them but somewhere along those lines. I mean, if you cover the bottom of his face he looks surprised. So maybe he was smiling, reaching out for her, but instead she waves goodbye?
I also noticed that in the hand hold, it seems that she's definitely holding his hand, but he doesn't seem to be holding on very tight. Maybe reminiscent of her attachment to him, which she's learning to let go of?
Also can I say that their last conversation had a very weird energy. Like it was a goodbye, almost. Like they were leaving each other's lives and never coming back, even though they were glad to have met and befriended the other. This picture has the same energy.
So I actually think this is saying that it's time for Deku and Uraraka to go their separate ways.

honestly ive never been sure whether i should list it as verse alternates or plot ideas but one day, eventually, i have to go further into the whole ‘cheshire and alice are two halves of the same psyche’ thing from a/mr and expand on that more, bc even in the actual book it is sort of a thing one can come to; even though rabbit is the official ‘guide’, the cat’s the one always making alice take sudden turns, go sudden ways, convincing her of paths without really telling her at all, and its just such a concept man

I have gotten more asks now that I'm posting less. You lovely people, I see you, I get inspired and I'm fascinated that so many of you intrinsically feel where the story is heading next (the anons asking for Hector and/or Arnie with Isaiah's heart episode) and Matt's backstory and whumpy focus :3
I'll be getting right to it as my exam season ends (still one more paper to hand in).

Fair warning, the comic in question is about a certain group of Germans from the 1930's and 40's

I am once again observing that I apparently absorbed almost no stereotypical mannerisms from my southern upbringing because the folks at the Community Event last night were compelled to comment on how I didn’t seem from someone from [State].
apparently I just exude ??????.placename

I just found out about a flower called a thistle flower.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/steviec-photography/6239635329
Jaggy Thistle
flickr
I thought it looked interesting, and that the color was pretty, so I looked it up to see if I could learn more about it and it is. Such a good plant? A direct quote from a literal .org site (https://weedwise.conservationdistrict.org/2017/thistle-identification.html) is that ‘Native thistle provide important habitat and food sources for native fauna. The nectar and pollen of native thistles are incredibly valuable food sources to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Many insects feed on the leaves, stems, flowers and seeds, while some songbirds also feed on thistle seeds.’ Like. It’s so good for it’s native ecosystems??? But Victorian Englands flower language is so cruel to it????? Like, the Celtic cultures that its more native to all equate it with resilience, strength, determination, protection, and honor? Which all hold such good meanings behind them? And then you have Victorian England who sees these useful resilient plants that have such a pretty (royal, ‘cause purple was really hard/expensive to get) color as unwanted flora, having its flower language mean pain, aggression, and intrusion?? Just cause it’s spikey?????

My friend and i were talking about fanfiction recently and when she asked what i read I had to be like *sweeps ‘welcome home’, 'BNHA’ and ‘undertale’ tags under metaphorical carpet* before I told her just Avengers.

me picking the logical problem about emotions that has spock in the tittle: ah yes, star trek and neurotransmiters, sounds like my sort of theme
Im. not a big fan of the authour and I think its kinda a silly work to be doing a logical analysis on because the thesis is so meandering that frankly its hard to pinpoint what exactly it is or the point of the spock reference being there in the first place! Outside of capturing the readers attention and engaging their interest via a familiar charater of course, but thats not really making an argument in favour of a point. ah. hate it when people try analysing works of fiction without acknowledging them as such and instead treating them like a thought experiment.
First of all spock is half human, so half the questions posed frankly dont say shit about anything. also the major point the authour seems to be making is that aiming for rationale with a lack of emotions above all else is kinda dumb, basically. Like yes i agree with this. however idk spock has never been emotionless. spock being peak stoicism just immediately sounds like an incorrect premise to me. hes emotional!
idk i mostly remember star trek by my mom watching it a lot when i was younger and also whatever ive consumed via osmosis but like. why would you even need to prove spock has the capacity for emotions? obviously he does???
