Repainting over my old artwork (Day 1)
Starting off with re-painting this Lucifer portrait from Obey Me! I made a few years ago. Back then I thought it came out really well but at a different skill level I hope it looks better lmao
(Re-painted artworks might be from fandoms I'm no longer into or haven't been active in for many years, so keep that in mind before following!)

This does not follow.
"We're " not releasing the same game every month. Nor is it the same dev.
It is multiple different devs inspired by seeing the success of one game wanting to catch its success. This is the same story for many games.
They're then releasing around the same time in the same year as that first batch of devs release their games. Potentially having something that inspires other game devs, until so on and so forth until people get tired of multiplayer delving games.
Such as look at all the metroidvanias that have come out inspired mostly directly by hollow knight.

it's definitely uncomfortable that dav's only nonbinary character is portrayed in a way that leans into negative stereotypes about young trans people. like imagine if there was a game where the only gay man was a sassy princess and the only bisexual man's romance was focused on bdsm and the only lesbian was written by a misogynist and the only trans man is voiced by a cis woman. that would suck right. luckily there are no games like that.

we got like a decade of really great, organic, self produced content (videos, photos, vlogs, tutorials, etc) but now everything just feels like cheap bait and people shamelessly selling themselves or trying to sell you something or go “viral” for .5 seconds
it’s disappointing because it has scorched out any desire i have to create things online really, and also any desire to be on social media as a consumer but that’s probably a good thing.
a lot of people will never know the joy of searching for things and going down rabbit holes and random corners of the internet and stumbling upon things because everything is so overt and handed to you in an effort to collect views. but soooo much charm is lost in the process that it takes away what actually made it enjoyable in the first place.

People who think Harding is too harsh on Solas drive me insane you are EXACTLY the kind of people that caused her to grow up to be a people pleaser and it's STILL not enough.
You think HARDING is too harsh on Solas?
HARDING?
One of the consistant voices on team "there's got to still be good in Solas" even before the possibility of redemption is brought up? That Harding? The one who mentions feeling bad for Solas that he feels he can't ask for help without manipulation? That Harding. The one who mentions they don't think anyone was at fault bc the titians didn’t know what the elves were and the elves couldn't have known that lyrium was blood? That Harding?
The one who, if given the chance to confront Solas, just wants to know why and for an apology. That Lace Harding.
What??????

I occasionally see people complain that stereotypes of trans women even in our own online communities are often about us being nerdy shut ins, and how they say that’s unfair and inaccurate. But besides the obvious selection bias that in online spaces people who are shut ins that spend most of their time online are going to be more prevalent than those who spend less time online, I feel like it takes a bit of willful ignorance to pretend that nerdy shut ins don’t make up a very large portion of transgender women for very material reasons. Most of the transgender women I know have a few things in common:
We grew up uncomfortable with our bodies
We spent most of our lives prior to transitioning feeling like something is very wrong and feeling like we don’t fit in with most of society
We frequently fantasized about a life that could be different
Again there is a very real amount of selection bias in this because basically every trans woman I know is also mentally ill and spends most of her time online. But again I feel that the material reality of being a person who feels uncomfortable with themselves, feels like they don’t belong, and often fantasizes about a life where they didn’t have those problems very much would cause said person to gravitate towards being nerdy and/or a shut in. And that is intensified if you consider the statistically higher percentage of trans women that are autistic (the autism-transgender connection is a whole different topic but there is a statistically significant overlap). To a person like that, video games, tabletop role playing, and online communities where you can present yourself how you’d like are all very attractive things. And if so many of us gravitated to those things before transitioning, existing in this world that is so deeply cruel and unaccepting of trans women only pushes us further into using those as our outlets.
I won’t pretend to have any statistical or other knowledge to make sweeping statements about that making up the majority of us or anything, and I also recognize there is selection bias inherent to this discussion and that my view is limited as an American white woman. But I will say that I don’t think it should be necessarily surprising or disappointing to anyone that online communities of transgender women tend to focus on talking about the types of transgender women that make up the majority of those communities: the ones who spend more time online

I think that "Armand as a character is an exercise in still caring and having empathy for people who aren't made kinder/wiser/gentler etc by the trauma and abuse they experience and if you have to pretend he didn't do the awful things he's done in order to still care about him you're missing the point" and "wanting to defend him because large chunks of the fan base are overly willing to wildly exaggerate his worst qualities (or invent entirely new bad qualities that aren't even a thing in canon!) in order to downplay Lestat's equally egregious crimes and make him look more heroic and romantic by comparison, in a way that is often subtly or overtly racist" are perspectives that can and should coexist

the Nesta modesty discourse is so weird because all someone said is that Nesta is often dressed in more revealing clothes when drawn alongside Feyre and Elain (her sisters) which is weird because Nesta is the only character on page who we know hates being dressed in revealing clothing and will avoid it if she can...no one brought in ships, men or attached morality to dressing modestly/not dressing modestly until some of started throwing around accusations of slut shaming (for pointing out a fact)
Now my opinion is that mean "bitchy" female characters are often sexualised in this weird "femme fatale" thing that fandoms regularly assign to them as their archetype whether it fits them or not (it does not Nesta is literally a bookworm who kills terrible people on the side), also Nesta is noted to be the more curvy of her sisters so we'll just sprinkle that in too.
This goes without saying but people can draw anything they want and every piece of art is a gift but it's hard not to notice a trend when it happens with nearly every time she's in an ensemble

the argument that we need to see more platonic male friendships on tv would be one i could take seriously if we lived in a world of male best friends who are just constantly falling in love but queer friends to lovers stories (for all genders and most definitely for men) is not at all an oversaturated market and pretending as if it is, is incredibly disingenuous behaviour.
if anything the overwatered market is platonic male friendships on tv. try name me one tv show airing right now that doesn’t have at least one central platonic male friendship. like genuinely. you can’t. i just think there’s no need for us to be silly about it and write think pieces about the desert of male platonic friendships we’re facing in media when it’s simply ~ not true ~
(also friends to lovers is the best trope there is why is it so bad to want more of that)

I feel genuinely insane from the number of people in the Bix tag acting like the part that people are mad about is her finding healing. i would have fucking LOVED to see her find healing. However what we actually saw was her completely disappearing from the narrative (explicitly stated to be for Cassian's benefit, not hers), before turning up two years later with a baby. I’m mad that the writers took the laziest shortcut in the book as an excuse to not ever show her actually finding healing. I’m mad that we never saw a glimpse of any of the impacts of her trauma as soon as she tortured Gorst, as if that fixed everything. I’m mad that we didn’t get to see her learn how to cope with her trauma and fight her addiction and find a peace that felt genuine and narratively complete.
I WISH I'd gotten to see Bix find healing. All I saw was her completely vanishing for two years before turning up for thirty seconds in a wheat field with a baby.
