#is the rivalry between Riven and Irelia

It just occurred to me now that Riot's dumped the main lore and Arcane's story has deviated somewhat from this but: Riven. In the OG lore, Noxus using chemtech to bomb Riven's battalion to also take out the Ionian guerilla fighters led to Riven's disillusionment with Noxus and Noxian ideology. Singed hasn't shown any signs of being involved with Noxus (yet, even though we saw shimmer shipments in s1, presumably to places like Noxus) so where does her lore stand atm? Has the timeline for her story shifted? Is her disillusionment going to happen under different parameters?

Even before the Great De-canonization, Riven was in a weird place lore-wise. As an old champ with no VGU, a lot of her initial design reflected a pre-2014 Noxus. It'll be interesting to see how Arcane verse will adapt her character whenever it gets around to doing so.

Talon and Zed?

How I feel about this characterI love Talon! He was actually my first champion because I thought his old kit with the silence was really neat and he’s an attractive character. I also think it’s funny he’s getting constantly getting beaten up by reworked Ionians as well LOL.

All the people I ship romantically with this characterTalon/Riven is and probably will always be my favorite ship for him, but there’s just such little interest for them now with the lore changes and more exploration of Riven’s journey in Ionia rather than bringing her back to Noxus. I’ve written for them before as well, but can’t really see myself doing it again. Other than that ship though, Talon/Lux is pretty cute and in the Wuxia universe, Talon/Irelia has peaked my interest with the new skin lores, but I can also see it as rivalry as well.

My non-romantic OTP for this characterKatarina and Cassiopeia with the sister roles. That whole family is goals, even though they’re probably literally at each other’s throats half the time.

My unpopular opinion about this characterI just…don’t get why he’s a bike and has almost been shipped with everyone, but to each their own.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.I hope he gets a short story about his search for the general. It’s long overdue, give the boy some leads.

Zed

How I feel about this characterI didn’t have too much interest in Zed previously, but with his role in Kayn’s lore, I started to explore more Zed related content and I do like his character now, even if he’s a bitch to play against.

All the people I ship romantically with this characterShen/Zed for the angst, but I also like seeing them portrayed as more humorous as well. I do also ship Zed/Syndra as well, and it’s generally easier to implement in my writing as a side ship since there aren’t as many lore constraints as Shen/Zed.

My non-romantic OTP for this characterThe master/student and father/son role Zed plays in Kayn’s life 💯

My unpopular opinion about this characterI guess the fact that I don’t mind whether the relationship between him and Shen is romantic or familial? People generally prefer one or the other, but the lore is open-ended enough for it to be interpreted either way and honestly, there’s enough depth for either type to be very dynamic and satisfying.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.Where do I even begin? A face reveal, for starters. And then a reunion with Shen where he’s forgiven and lots of tears are shed.
