Unfortunate: My wife, a player in a long-running Pathfinder 2e campaign that I run, immediately clocked when I was in the middle of trying to design a DCA-inspired NPC and demanded, nay, begged for me not to go through with it. I love my wife and alas, he will be unused

Fortunate: I now have a DCA oc/ttrpg AU and I'm going to figure out how I can make things about him. His name is Celest (short for Celestial) and he's an Automaton Oracle who specializes in astrological magics and somehow has two (or more) souls stuck inside his automaton core. He's a couple hundred years old (in terms of being in his current form/life) and tends to keep to himself and away from major cities.

So her real dad killed her after he murdered her mom and her spirit somehow went to the daycare because she used to go there a lot and yk dad figures n stuff then Sun n Moon made her a body

Sooo her main thing is she's like the dca daughter or lil sis in some scenarios I've made in my head and she doesn't RLLY help she's jus another kid there lolz

She plays w Sun when the lights r on and when Moon comes out she uh.. encourages the kids

LOLZ so basically they've made a game of her going "cmon guys! Let's get outta here before the boogie man gets us! (Aka Moon)"

And they just run around the daycare trying to evade Moon while he catches them one by one (like those zombie movies that kill the human characters off one by one lol)

So they mainly started this game both to wear out the other children and because my sona never wanted to sleep and she would just grab the other kids and run away from Moon so they wouldn't have to sleep

Also the animatronic name they gave her is Cloudii because she's supposed to be made after clouds ( which is why her hair is so fluffy) but her human name (when she was a little girl) was Bethany (and her nickname is bethy so she's used to people calling her that too)

So even tho her animatronic name is Cloudii she has the rest of the animatronics and children call her Bethany or bethy

Literally the only ones who call her Cloudii is fazbear cuz they don't know she's a dead kid (even if they did know they would care cuz yo it's fazbear 😭)

With some of Bethany's functions I had the idea like how in VR chat u can change the outfit of the model ur using

So basically she pulls up a floating tab that's basically a catalog for all her outfits and she clicks on one and hits the button called 'wear' and BA BOOM! her outfit is changed! (If ur one shot thingy u could use this idea too if u wanted :D I don't mind!)

OH YEAH and also for her body functions she can use the floating tab and select the outfit she's currently wearing and like for example select her shoes and hit the 'remove' button and that basically removes the shoes so she's no longer wearing them! :D

It literally sounds like she's a dress up game or a hologram but she's not I promy! TwT 😭

ALSO! So Bethany can kinda just go out of her animatronic body at will but she obvi doesn't do it when their open

So like after they've closed for the night and all the kids have gone home Bethany in spirit for just jumps outta the body ( I literally swear the first time she did this she scared the absolute daylights outta Sun n Moon)

And since she's a spirit she can float and stuff so while Sun n Moon r cleaning n stuff she kinda just floats around, like a Frisbee, and floating upside down and literally everyway imaginable. She thinks it's rlly fun but like she's like 5-7 y/o so go figure

ANYWAYSSS then when Moon has to go on patrols they play the boogieman game again except Bethany is just trying to hide from Moon and run away from him for as long as possible (honestly I can totally see emperor Moon or even all three dads doing this to get the princess tired enough to sleep so she doesn't fight them on it lolz 😭)

And when Moon catches Bethany he puts her to bed and goes on his patrols

OKI I FINISHED THE MAIN STUFF NOW I CAN TELL U ABT THE STORY PART YIPPIE >O<

OKOK SO BASICALLY so Bethany went to the daycare since she was 6 months old. Her mother Mrs Carson knew her husband is coko so she wanted her child to be as far away from him as possible but she was kinda stuck in her marriage so she just had her at the daycare as soon as she was old enough 24/7.

Which also makes the dca super attached becuz hello they basically raised this child AND signs of not good home life? AHEM MINE NOWZ

Kidding kidding actually it was Moon's idea and they were thinking of yk snatch le child but Sun was in the fence becuz it still seemed wrong to take a child from their parents even if one is bonkers (Sun had more morals lolz)

Then one night her father jus up and killed her mom , she tried to escape but she is but a child so he got her in the head (so as a ghost she has blood dripping from her forehead and her legs and elbows)

Basically after that Sun is mortified but glad shes with them.

Moon is like while I'm not glad this happened and I want vengeance.....at least she's with forever now without us having to take her ourselves so no immoral and we won't get in trouble for abduction?

Sun: BRO WHAT IS WRONG WITH U-

And they argue ANYWAYSSSSS

All is well and peaceful and happy for a while I'm the daycare with their half dead daughter!

Until...

THE VIRUS COMES ALONG!!! DUN DUN DUNNNNN

So basically Sun and Moon are aware a very dangerous virus is corrupting their system and they try to protect Bethany

BUT IN LITERALLY THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE LIKE HOW ARE THEY THIS DUMB-

basically they try to push her away in hopes she'll find someone else to be her parents so she doesn't get hurt

Sun starts being cold (acting like how he did in help wanted 2. Shredding her drawings, being mean, getting snappy and cold towards her, not caring to play with her and such)

Meanwhile with Moon he doesn't comfort her after a nightmare, he shoves her off him when Bethany tries to hug him and doesn't put her to bed anymore and he's even hit her a few times to try to get her to go away

They've both ended up hitting her at some point :(

Meanwhile Bethany doesn't have any idea what's going on and is like "why don't my dads love me anymore? What am I doing wrong..? :c"

ONDHISIBSIHSIGEIGB ITS SOO SADDD

And like some of the security bots have stalked behind her at one point to try to rip her apart (Vanessa attempting to get Sun to be as far gone as Moon) but Moon always goes up behind them, yoinks them in the air and takes them to their room to rip them to shreds

And Bethany is confused on why she felt a rush of air behind her and is like

"..:<?"

When sb does eventually happen and just before the building is burning down they have a standoff

Vanessa is fed up at this point and just orders the staff bots to dismantle the dca

Sun n Moon lock her in their room while the staff bots rip them apart

When Bethany eventually gets out their too far gone (this making them look like how they do in ruin) she drags them down into the daycare, into a pillow fort and lays on top of them and pulls their arms around her and cries. She does this ever since then begging for them to wake up by they never do...

ANYWAYS SO RUIN-!

Basically when Sun and Moon were pushing Bethany away they were almost never in their room anymore. Sun was always down in the daycare cleaning and Moon was always rushing off to do patrols. They were both trying to distract themselves from the fact that they were abusing and neglecting their daughter while trying to protect her. Basically just trying to repress the growing guilt

Meanwhile Bethany almost never came out into the daycare anymore whether it was open or not. What was the point? Her dads were her whole world but now that they don't love her anymore (in her eyes at least) and that it was hopeless to even try to make them it didn't matter anymore. Nothing mattered anymore. She wouldn't,eat, sleep, play. Nothing. She was basically depressed

Bethany would just lay in the bed up in their room because it makes her feel somewhat close to them again. It's also where ballon world is....

Basically the arcade machine came on again and someone said hello... ECLIPSE YIPPIEEE

Basically he had asked her why she was so sad and Bethany explained about Sun n Moon and talked and became friends! NEW FATHER FIGURE YIPPIE!

Anyways so after sb happened Eclipse was very understandably worried cuz his daughter that he adopted has not been seen in over a week is she okay!?

And since he's connected himself all around the pizzaplex he figured out what happened so he got to work taking over staff bots so that he could himself a body

Then when he eventually has his own body Eclipse goes to the daycare and gets reunited with Bethany.

Bethany is happy because she's not alone anymore and Eclipse tells her that since her dads don't love her anymore he'd gladly take her in and she's elated!

But..ever since Sun and Moons body was banged up they hadn't moved or anything since it happened

But in their head they've been working internally on fixing themself! And since their body was so damaged it also got rid of the virus! Since it damaged the virus chip in their systems their virus free!

Now since they've been repairing the self this whole time they've been away from their daughter forever and it made them realize all the harm they've done and they finally went bonkers crazy so their determined to get their daughter back, make her forgive them and keep her with them forever again. Just like how they think things should be

But when they go to find Bethany they find her hurt and upset still with them and clinging to Eclipse, saying hes her dad now and she doesn't want them.

Eclipse's smug grin makes everything so much worse and so does everything he's done in the past that made him stuck in ballon world in the first place.

NOW ECLIPSE BACKSTORY TIMEEEE WEEEEEE

So basically Sun, Moon, and Eclipse were all made to be daycare attendants but the kids all favored Sun and Moon. Eclipse got jealous and lashed out, he hurt a lot of kids and heavily damaged Sun and Moon that day.

He was going to blame it all on Sun and Moon but staff didn't believe him. They destroyed his body and if he hadn't gotten stuck in ballon world he would've been completely wiped out!

So he was stuck in isolation, and Eclipse knew..the second a opportunity presented itself he'd get revenge. It was all Sun and Moons fault!

Then Bethany comes along. Maybe this one will like him? She does! And she's even been burned by those two! Perfect!

So Eclipse takes a child that they hold dear Al to himself, getting his revenge and he finally has a child that likes him! That even now prefers him over Sun and Moon! Things couldn't go anymore perfectly!

Meanwhile Sun and Moon are enraged. This thing! He comes back here and has the nerve to take their place!

All three bots are equally as determined to take and keep Bethany for themselves no matter what.

Okay the end that's basically it for the story that I've cooked up so far in my head basically rivalry :3

how did you get here?

my hyperfix on the dca started earrrly january this year because i played hw2 and was promptly swept off my feet and ive been sick over them since. id played it before , but started playing again bc i wanted too 100% the game! oh if only id known !!

2. why these characters in particular? what was the hook for you?

originally it was Sun that hooked me onto both of them. hes just so silly!! and such a prissy bitch!! and i love it!! plus i love the idea of 2 separate ids in one body, thats always fun to mess with 😋

3. how long have you been here?

since early january of this year!! though, im not SUPER active in the fandom itself. i just silently enjoy fanart/fics , and VERY RARELY draw and post on my art bog. im not a big participator in fandom itself, im perfectly comfy just watching.

4. have you actually played fnaf sb?

NO. and i do not plan to. the game is too buggy to pay 40 bucks for it, plus i really dont wanna give scott anymore money (fuck you scott cawthon i hate you scott cawthon a million plagues upon you and your life scott cawthon) so ill pass. im perfectly fine with just watching videos.

5. if you make content, what's your favorite piece you've contributed?

THIS POST!! i love vocaloid, and i love the dca, and whats better than combining the two? i was especially proud of myself bc these were animations, which is something i NEEEVERRR to, so id say i was pretty damn happy with these!!

6. what's your favorite sort of art or fic? what genre/flavor/style?

ive still yet to actually read any fics abt the dca (im in the process of reading one about djmm rn <3 its so good i love it so much <333) but im a sucker for angst w/a happy end (the heart wants what the heart wants, and who am i to deny ?)

i like aquatic aus for the dca!!!!! i love seeing all the different designs ppl give them ... i also rlly like cowboy/western aus too :)

not yet, but ive absolutely thought about it!! maybe one day ... (for now though, im happy with my silly little technician s/i hehe)

9. what do you think of the dca's canon appearance? Scary? Cute? Something else?

I LOVE THEM I THINK THEYRE SO PRETTYYYYYYYYYY i dont really see them as scary from looks alone tbh, like MAYBE moon but it'd have to be rlly dark so it was just his glowing eyes visible. other than that they are just silly billys cutie patooties to me. id pinch their cheeks if i could (i mean i know u can but. ykwim)

10. what keeps you in this fandom despite the very small amount of canon content the dca had?

im kept sane by both my own brain's constant thoughts abt these robots, and also the art and writing made by other fans!! i 🫶 images.

11. be honest: if you had to pick only one, sun or moon?

:( i GUESS sun, if i HAD to choose, only bc Moon's the one with the virus. it feels so wrong to separate them. you wound me.

12. thoughts on eclipse?

I LOVE THEM!!!!!!! i hc that eclipse isnt one whole robot, but its a state of being where sun and moon are both comfortably, equally in control of the body. so like ... in a WAY they could seem blended into one whole ai, but theyre both still in there, and have moments of one overtaking the other, while still as "eclipse".

13. thoughts on pre-glitch sun?

I feel like pre glitch Sun was juuust starting to get a bit overworked and burnt out, like right before the virus (and afterwards, it jsut got worse and worse). i think the DCA are genuinely good at taking care of kids, they just slip up often and arent absolutely perfect at it (unlike how they would be, if they were actually made to be caretakers and not theater animatronics). sometimes Sun is too loud, having to constantly remind himself to lower his voice when around more meek kids in the daycare.

he definitely has his moments where he needs to correct himself and remember that he is taking care of young kids, but all in all, i feel like Sun was pretty good at taking care of the kids (much better than he was when he was first moved to the daycare, since i can imagine he was VERY, VERY BITTER about being moved from the theater, but its not like being a theater animatronic was synonymous with despising children, so he wouldn't HATE them or anything yk ??)

14. thoughts on pre-glitch moon?

YKNOW I WONDER does moons voice sound like that bc of the virus, or is that just his voice ? nonetheless, i feel like Moon was good with his job, and maybe a bit better than Sun, only bc i feel like handling naptime would come with less struggles than daytime activities.

Moon was probably so much more gentle, less hunched over and 'scary-looking' when he moved, and rather than punishing kids for not sleeping he just ... actually helped them sleep. yknow ? whether its holding and rocking some of the younger kids to help them sleep better, or maybe one of the kids has something on their mind that wont let them sleep, i feel like Moon was actually really good at his job.

im firm on believing the DCA is actually good at taking care of kids due to what cassie says about the AR sun/moon plushies!! theyre good at their job!!! to a degree LOLLLL

15. do you interpret sun and moon as two sides of the same person, or truly two separate beings in one body? does it matter?

i interpret them as two separate beings in one body!! i like this interpretation, it feels more fun to work with and is oddly cathartic? emotional? interesting? theres just so much emotion that comes with sharing a body with an entire other identity, knowing that you and them are tightly knit together, whether you want to be or not, because no matter what, you have them, and they have you, and you're stuck with one another. and yes, you and them are different, but you bleed into one another at some parts, at some angles the yellow and blue smudge, and sometimes you struggle to see where 'you' starts, and 'they' begin.

i love love love thinking about how they experience sharing a body with one another, how they maneuver the world and their thoughts. ITS SO FUN!!! THEY MAKE ME SICK.

this is ENTIRELY just me, but seeing the dca act all suave and sexy feels mischaracterizing. this tweet literally captures how i feel perfectly

THE MOON NIGHTLIGHT. i have the sun one already and i NEED the moon one so he isnt alone :( i hope they fix up the coloring on the moon one, bc the dark bit looks so weird and messy (im assuming it only looks like that since it was the first look at him, but still!!! i think they should just make him all white, and not make the NIGHT LIGHT dark in some areas, lol???)

this is one of those rare times where i DO think i would get along with them, or at least Sun!! i feel like id definitely be super duper anxious first meeting them, like the enthusiasm levels are a bit jarring, but i really do feel like i could get along with Sun (and maybe Moon ... if this is pre-virus, then more likely, but if its while Moon has the virus .. .. . . . . .. .. .. .. mauybe.)

You're kinda right ab the sun and moon thing, I just can't be mad because this trope is so TASTY to me. I usually compromise by using leitmotifs beside sun and moon [though I do have a set of ocs based on luna/nightmare and dream/celestia]. I've got Fire + Ice, Control Vs. Anarchy, and Solid + Flowing.

TRUE! I think it's possible to make Nightmare an sympathize-able villain/make Dream 'In The Wrong' without completely changing their personality (i spend most of my Rewriting™️ changing events and details. Things turn out similarly, but now there's a little ✨spice✨)
