i was going to write a long explanation but @/starcurtain makes a very comprehensive and understandable analysis here of the inconsistencies as of 3.2

and the explanation for multiple timelines can be easily explained now that the 'Amphoreus is a timeloop' plot line has finally been revealed to the cast of characters in 3.2. Especially in 3.3, where there's also the giant revelation that the sky isn't real and Cipher tricked everyone, we quite literally see the world breaking apart.

The sky is now red, the last holy city has fallen, the characters within the timeloop have understood they're in a predestined timeloop, it is genuinely THE PERFECT time for whatever order or structure that Amphoreus had before, to be falling apart now.

so mydei's inconsistencies in his memories and with what I believe to be the most important, the fragment of recollection with Gorgo talking to Mydei, makes sense if per se the timeline where Gorgo lived longer was something like the original timeline that is getting messed up in his memories

someone also claimed that there was timeline inaccuracies where it said that the kremnoan detachment was said to be active during the Chrysos Heir's war, which iirc had something to do with cerydra becoming a dictator and hysilens's death, which was ~1000 years ago, while mydei is around 19/20 in game. I however was not able to find anything in game to support this, so I'm not sure about this one

mydei is popularly theorized to be the 'glitch' in amphoreus, and that could be because he's somehow remembering past memories from different timelines when phainon, as the worldbearer, should be the only one having some semblance of a memory of past cycles. Which is possibly supported by the fact that whenever some technology is used with Mydei, something weird happens. For example, when we use March 7th's camera to take a photo of him, its storage is suddenly full, or when he's on stream with Hyacine in her trailer, she gets no views and eventually a glitch screen.

he's also associated with the golden scapegoats, as his memory fragments in okhema actually turn into golden scapegoat puzzles in the fallen okhema. and the golden scapegoat, ironically, looks more like a ram due to its large, curling horns. Notably RAM, the acronym, stands for Random Access Memory, which is the short-term memory drive on a computer. and when you fill a RAM, you can get a bunch of error messages.

so obviously the lord ravager on amphoreus is phainon (unless hoyo pulls a fast one on us when there is some undeniable foreshadowing to it), and it seems phainon and mydei's stories are inextricably bound (mydei not only trusting phainon with his weakness, but also the parallels to alexander-hephaestion/achilles-patrocles/gilgamesh-enkidu), along with phainon's weird yet somehow casual(? i don't know if I can call it casual but he at least casually slips mydei into conversation whenever he feels like it ig) obsession with mydei.

I wouldn't be surprised if mydei was actually created/the original mydei was altered by phainon in one of the cycles, which causes the simulation/world of amphoreus to kind of reject mydei, and then everything just snowballed from there

i hope this makes sense! as of right now, I think everyone is a bit confused with mydei's backstory and are just trying to make sense of how messy it is, so a lot of it turned into current theories, but I hope it makes some sense and you can understand a bit more about mydei! i really like him, too, and I hope hoyo explains more about him in the next updates!
