percy calling the oracle a halloween decoration (lmaoo that was so on brand).

chiron assembling a group of qualified demigods for quest selection reassures me because the books were giving the idea that any random untrained demigod is allowed to go on quests.

percy having the choice to choose who goes on the quest. him trusting grover even though he lied to him for months. him deciding that annabeth would never be his friend, thus never betray him and do what needs to be done to find the bolt. it shows percy using his brain and strategising.

percy reassuring luke (the betrayal is going to hurttttt). luke being the only one who explains things to percy, while others assume he already knows everything. luke being his mentor. im going to cry.

the consensus song lmaooo. grover is iconic.

the monsters playing on percy and annabeth's fatal flaws. and they both choosing each other over the quest/sally.

percy's swordfighting skills weren't much shown except where he kills medusa with one hit. kinda wish they had showed the training scene where percy disarms luke. i thought it gave a nice foreshadowing to their many battles.

Am I back with another rant? Mmmm yes. Last time, my brain was all cloudy and emotional so imma put more effort into figuring out how to word it this time.

It’s just…ugh. It was all wrapped up so perfectly and I think a little bit of me has died and stuck with it. This fic is like a horcrux. Reading it killed me and a bit of my soul left and bonded to it. I started reading it when it had 4 chapters and now it’s gone so far and everyone has been through so much and I want to scream.

It’s so…the way Sirius reacted was so realistic and so painful and it HURTTTTT

Is the door Reg said he liked possibly canon? Or, at least a wizarding universe. It doesn’t matter too much either way but I feel like if there was that link, I would die all over again.

Speaking of which, I did cry when the news report came on. The link to the previous heist gave some extra kind of closure that I wasn’t expecting. I don’t know why but it felt right that it was mentioned just after the mention of the newest theft, like a grand conclusion of the story. It felt like it was giving Regulus that last little bit of connection to the story of his plan, you know? Like the thing he’d been preparing for his whole life had one last moment of appreciation that only a few people watching would be able to remember and recognise properly. I can’t help but think that they would all be thinking of him when they watched that. Anyway, it hurt me emotionally and that part had me frozen still for ten minutes whether it was intended to or not.

And the fact that James literally mentioned wanting to go to Brazil in chapter oneeee. I remembered him talking to Reg about it later on but I didn’t realise how far back it went 😭 he got to do what he always wanted to but it was just off the whole time. The mental image of him living alone in that house with the painting behind the door and the red and green and everything just makes me heart jutter and melt uncontrollably.

I think that’s all I have to say, there is so much more I want to say but I don’t know how to word it. Basically, thank you.
