i originally made this as a tiktok but didn’t feel like retyping it for tumblr so i’m just reposting the images
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So far I’ve read only a few chapters, but with the help of other tumblr posts and a little research of my own, I found just enough material to make a distinct comparison with Killua.
I know there’s more similarities & connections in general with Patalliro! and HXH. I might possibly make a part 2 of this post after I finish the manga.
I know some people only ship killugon for fun but I’ve been genuinely convinced for a while now. The math IS adding up. It’s always adding up and makes perfect sense each time.
The question is no longer
“ Is Killua gay? “
but
“ How much gayer can Killua get? “
Edit : before this gets taken out of context :
togashi has NOT said anything or confirmed this! This is only an observation and strong assumption! A theory if you will. Nothing in this post is spreading false information so please chill out Twitter 😭

Mangaka Are Flawed People Like You and I
If Shonen Jump is considered to be the “World’s Most Popular Manga,” then you can bet that the creators behind the magazine’s landmark series are some of the most popular people in the world today.
Of course, with the attention Shonen Jump series get, there always comes the chance of a big problem that gets exposed.
And recently, this was the case as Nobuhiko Watsuki, creator of Rurouni Kenshin, had a big exhibition for the series in Japan. This comes off his conviction of having child pornography in his possession and not having to be in jail for an indefinite period of time (compared to what he would face in the West). What got many fans talking was the fact that 14 notable mangaka with ties to Shueisha wrote congratulatory messages for Watsuki and causing (mostly Western) fans of those mangaka to have conflicting feelings over their favorite creators for celebrating someone who’s a convicted pedophile.
Eiichiro Oda, Masashi Kishimoto, Hideaki Sorachi, Yusei Matsui, Takeshi Obata, Hiroyuki Takei are just some of the familiar names many manga fans will recognize that praised Watsuki. Seeing Sorachi’s name does worry me a bit since I know he’s done jokes about lolicons and such. I think what it comes down to is how close-knit mangaka are with each other. The manga industry is extremely rough and insular. There’s little room for social interaction outside of work, so it’s usually your co-workers that you talk to the most at times. I know Oda was an assistant under Watsuki before creating One Piece, so there’s also the senpai-kouhai relationship in play here as well.
This doesn’t excuse Watsuki for what he did. I’m not sure if he’s truly apologetic for his actions. I did hear that one of the major reasons that Watsuki was let off the hook was because Shueisha felt that they had to honor the contract they made with Warner Bros. regarding the upcoming Rurouni Kenshin movie based on the Jinchu Arc. It sounds like some warped sense of honor needed to be preserved over a very serious issue that needs more attention.
Some fans have said, “Thank god Tite Kubo or Yoshihiro Togashi didn’t write anything for Watsuki.” The thing is they can’t assume those creators are righteous just because they didn’t say anything. Fans seem so desperate for heroes because they feel like the whole world is full of awful people. To be fair, the inability of societal institutions to actually help people and encourage that help can give someone a legit reason to be angry.
But treating creators like they’re pure and holy gods that will never do any wrong isn’t the way to channel that frustration. Creators aren’t your friends. They will mess up. Think about it this way - why do you think are there are hierarchal levels of friendship? For starters, you can’t just bombard new potential friends with heavy details about your personal life. Not everyone’s going to get you. There’s probably some people you want in your life that make you forget your vulnerabilities for a bit, so you want different types of friends for your varied needs. Creators usually feel more connected among other creators due to shared experiences. The creator/fan relationship is parasocial at best.
I read this blog post from Steven Savage, author of Fan to Pro and many other notable books about fandom, about the desire for heroes in our world and he said it best.
“We hate real heroes, so we often seek false heroes. We find some person who has the right pose, the right words, and follow them instead. We worship the fakers, the actors, the deceivers, and the grifters.
Fake heroes are clean. They present the way we want, act the way we want, say the things we want. There’s no moral ambiguity – unless you look at their actions.
Fake heroes often have money and fame, and the right looks. They have all the worldly things we want, and we decide that’s heroism. The image is there – as long as you don’t ask how they got there.
Fake heroes don’t have any apparent ambiguity because they lie about it or cover it up. Fake heroes are an act, and we don’t have to deal with moral complications because we buy into it. Fake heroes are so much easier.
Fake heroes fit all we expect. They’re the right age, right sexual preference, right skin tone, etc. Fake heroes are a confidence game that looks just enough like us that we’re confident in believing in them.
We so prefer fake heroes in America. They’re so much easier, and the internet and media will help us find them or turn them out for us.”
I know it sounds like I’m suggesting that mangaka are “fake heroes.” In some ways, they are. We, the people, are the ones who place them as heroic by nature. It’s not entirely our fault as most media and word-of-mouth marketing sing their praises. I’m not saying that we should stop having role models, but I wish people were more reflective about who they should really revere.
I sometimes feel like fans love parasocial relationships a bit too much. I wonder now if it’s because they have no cognitive framework of what proper boundaries are. This can be a huge issue at times especially when you feel lonely and socially isolated. When I think about how people fall into extremism and/or start to do things that hurt other people, I think about that lack of emphasis on enforcing boundaries in a healthy way.
I do think some of the mangaka did feel uncomfortable in writing to support Watsuki. They probably had no choice since ethics and capitalism (especially geek capitalism) never mix well. People who think they’re always “right” don’t really preach ethics unless it directly benefits their reputation.
I already voiced my thoughts about Watsuki before in this 2017 post. I’ll say this as final words - so many things (the brands you like, the famous people you like, the nerd media you like, etc.) will have always some kind of dirty psychological stain on it. Over the past few years, some powerful folks who explicitly say they’re inclusive and diverse turn out to be the ones who aren’t. Someone on Twitter recently asked what if every manga creator has some kind of belief system that doesn’t fall in our line with our beliefs. Do we start to justify pirating their work just to prove our moral superiority?
I’m not sure how to feel about that because you can’t remove every little thing in your life that you don’t agree with. It’s impossible. It’s also a terrible way to live because we need some level of disagreement in order to become better people. We will all mess up and say/do the wrong thing over and over again. I know some “experts” say to cut out toxic people in your life, but if they’re not being abusive/troll-ish and genuinely wish to see you well, then I think you need to stand by them because those folks are the heroes we truly need, not an influential figure who uses their clout to only benefit themselves.
If you want a great post about how to separate art from the artist, this is my favorite post on how to do so.

A delusional blog I wrote about my favorite piece of media. cringe...core....
their is no way for me to exaggerate the importance that hunter x hunter has had on my life. it quite possibly the greatest piece of writing in any language after the gospels and is only rivaled by Jim Dodge's book stone junction for second place. i honestly am at a loss of words in trying to explain yoshihiro togashi masterpiece. it's wonderland with rules. it's nostalgia fighting it's way out of the grave. and above all it is a child's adventure story that will haunt you for the rest of your life. the premise is simple gon wants to meet his father and becoming a licensed hunter is the most immediate way of doing so. but the trials and tribulations of a life that involves "giving up what you have so can get what you want." is more complicated then the little boy can understand. he befriends a motley crew of associates that includes killua, the heir to a clan of assassins who is looking for a way to salvage his soul from the cruelty instilled in him for his survival in the family business.  kurapika a young man who want to avenge his people and collect the eyes cut out of there faces so that one day he may finally have peace. and leorio a man who wants to be a doctor so he can help those without the means to get what they need to survive. the series runs the gambit from film noir crime stories to a mmorpg with stakes so high that the children dance with death surrounded by the embers of hell. and learn that innocence is as dangerous in equal proportion to how vulnerable it makes you. a boy looking for his father, fighting chimera monsters and trying to figure out why all his friends are serial killers.
in one of my favorite exchanges between gon and nobunaga. gon says "why don't you save some of those tears for all the people you kill!" and nobunaga amazed by the reckless abandon of the youth decides the child will now be surrogate brother, a replacement for his dead comrade whose tears were claimed by gons wrath when shed for his dead friend. and in another moment much later gon (spoiler alert!) finally meets his father and breaks down crying saying it was his fault that kait (there mutual friend) was turned into a girl the chimera like empire ants and there shockingly conflicted king. to which ging the boys father says "it was his fault (kait), he got cocky but you are weak and you can take responsibility for that." and that is the parable of the series: you can do whatever you can get away with and still live with yourself and they can do whatever you cant stop them from doing. when confronted by monsters both human and savage your ability to change the situations is all that matters. to quote captain jack "all that matters is what a man can do and what a man can't do." to the winners go the history books. to the victor the spoils no matter what or who they are. the power to influence realty is a primary theme and motif within the series. the inherently japanese idea that if you work hard enough you may be able to stop the monsters from stomping the life out of their chained victims that are dying in the bad way for no other reason then someone enjoys doing it. life is a arena and the cage is the primary weapon of our oppressors. hope is the enemy of Nirvana and bliss goes against the apparent will of the powers that be. savage and ruthless more then any thing hunter x hunter tells us to not wait for some feel time with a therapist to look for our inner child and consul him/her if only so that we can find peace and stop raging like a bull in a china shop at every living thing that wants the same thing as us...to not be food and to have somewhere to rest out heads in-between our conflict with oppressive social energies and the quiet ones who stalk us as prey waiting for a moment we slow down so they can accelerate so that they can drown and resuscitate us on repeat until there is nothing left but a corpse. don't fear the reaper but fear his messengers because they (unlike death) enjoy the process.
it's just a adventure story but so is everything that happens between birth and death. but before i leave you let me just say hunter x hunter has been adapted into an anime three times and while the one currently airing on toonami is the best the anime has the relationship to the manga that super-book has as a adaption of the bible (just saying) which is to say it is very good but you are much better of going with the source material. in closing hunter x hunter is a playground for psychopaths a place where people get erection from killing. a place where turtles grow strawberry on their backs to lure men into the fog so that they may eat them. its a world made of the stuff of dreams but sometimes that shit is dangerous and it is best to leave that shit alone and not fuck with it. it reminds us why maturity is finding quiet place to call home and trying to protect it. not because the world is hostel but because it is indifferent. but more then anything it reminds of lonely it is to be a true seeker to give up what you have so you can gain what you want. it teaches us to respect our prey even as we rely on people we cant trust. seek and you will find understand and you will be understood. for the hungry will hunt and the prey will fear the hunter.

Who are your fav and least fav hxh char?
This is actually really really hard cuz I don’t see any of the characters as Bad in the sense of being poorly written and that’s usually what I base my favorites off of. I’ll probably be giving more explanation through the lists.Favorites:5) Alluka Zoldyck - The reason she’s number 5 is because while I adore her and love her personality, I do agree with some sentiments that she was a shoe-horned character in the Election Arc. She’s obviously important to Killua and his character development, but since we haven’t seen much out of her not only in that arc but anywhere in the series, it’s hard to judge her and truly fall in love with her character.4) Kite - Another one that’s more or less iffy for me. I do enjoy his/their character a lot and how important he was to Gon and his development, but I’m of the mindset that if you want to kill off a character, one that’s very important and that you know will further(or destroy) another character’s development, they should stay dead. And you can argue that Queen Kite and Human Kite are different people altogether, but there’s still the fact that Kite somehow got reborn as an Ant even though, as far as we see, there’s no nibbles taken out of his corpse at all. I guess this could be written off as Togashi not explaining his Nen abilities too well or just yet, since apparently that mace he summoned is only ever used when he wants to win or at least get out of a fight alive. 3) Leorio Paradinight - I adore Leorio just like everyone else but my god I can’t help but feel like he’s more 2 dimensional than 3 dimensional. He’s an all around good guy, he does have his faults, but they’re so minor that they aren’t even brought up beyond the Hunter Exam Arc. He wants to give people a free alternative to medicine and getting medical help and that’s amazing. He goes to college, he studies a lot, great. I can understand the struggles of money, sure, but I’d like to see him actually struggle and show more 3 dimensional qualities other than ‘GOOD BOY’. And since we haven’t seen him at all very much this arc, I don’t think we’ll be really seeing him go through the struggles that we want him to go through. There was the election arc where he wanted to see Gon get healed up, we did see him cry when he saw he was okay. But I want to see him when he can’t save someone, where he feels utterly powerless about something, where even if he has his Nen and can detect tumours and what not, he still can’t do anything to help them. I want to see his morals be challenged, I want to see what he will do when faced with a severe choice, one that will leave someone dead or suffering or not in the right state of mind once it’s all said and done. I just want to see him actually face the struggles the other characters have faced so far and not just be this all around good guy.2) Kurapika - We’ve seen soooo much about Kurapika since the start of the series. We know about his past, we know about his morals(somewhat) and we know what lengths he would go to to reach his goals. This current arc does have me scared for Kurapika and what will happen to him. But this is also the second arc where we’re focusing more on him than the other characters which is totally fine, I get it. His whole character arc does need a resolution and a conclusion. And we’ve seen his character develop really well, where he used to prefer doing things on his own, pushing himself too far(and it can be argued that he’s STILL doing this with Emperor’s Time), even questioning himself during Yorknew(at least in the 1999 version). And now he’s more than happy to have help and partner up with a group or individuals in order to ensure the safety of everyone and figure out what the correct course of action is rather than just letting his rage cloud his better judgement. Of course, there’s still so much more to this Arc that we haven’t seen yet so for what could possibly happen, no one really knows. 1) KIllua Zoldyck - I can relate to Killua the most out of all of the cast and that’s why he’s number 1 on the favorites. Throughout the series, we see him grow and develop into a proper human being. He has his hiccups and he has his moments of thinking he can do things alone for his friends’ sake. But he tries his best and he does his best to be the person that Gon has taught him to be. He moved past his horrible upbringing, overcame a fear that he didn’t even know he had, he stood up to his abuser, he saved his little sister from said abuse and potential further abuse, he has made leaps and bounds to try to help Gon and save him from a certain death only for that special friendship to wind up broken to the point that it may not even be repaired. But he’s made so many more friends and a new family that he adores and can be himself around. No need to be afraid of his family, no need to be scared of his older brother coming to get him in the middle of the night, no being alone, no killing people just because his family said to. He is his own person with his own faults and, of course, his own ambitions now. For someone who’s been abused/currently in a bad situation, he’s an inspiration and very obviously goals.Least Favorites:5) Hisoka - Obvious reasons. He’s a well written, very creepy character that you can’t help but like BECAUSE he’s such a creepy, morally ambiguous character. I just wish, you know…He wasn’t the way he was.4) Illumi - Again, obvious. I do adore him, and I do adore writing him, but being abusive, manipulating his younger brother to the point that he actually is so afraid of him as well as just jamming a needle into his brain is just despicable. He’s just downright evil, though he doesn’t see anything wrong with what he’s doing. I guess you could call him Lawful Evil? Or at least True Evil. And you could argue that he was made that way by his parents, BUUUUT KIllua was raised almost the same way, so that doesn’t really apply to Illumi. I doubt we’ll see any development for him beyond wanting to control Killua and Alluka, though, which really sucks but HEY at least he’s really fun to write.3) Kastro - NOW PLEASE DO NOT BE ALARMED. I ADORE KASTRO WITH ALL MY HEART. What makes him a least favorite is the way Togashi wrote him. I hate characters dying for silly or no good reason. I still stand by the fact that the injuries he got would in no way cause him to die, but HEY. I AIN’T A MANGAKA WHAT DO I KNOW? I love Kastro and he deserved better. I wish we got a little bit of background on him, too. Like where he came from, why he was so interested in Martial Arts, What lead him to going to Heaven’s Arena, etc. I made my own little headcanons for him and where he came from, but those don’t even count. Togashi you let me down. Togashi you are my least favorite character(JK I love you and everything you do, please don’t stop writing and being an inspiration).2) Ging/Genthru - These two are together for different reasons, but I wanted to include them both on this list. Ging is a deadbeat dad who made his son feel like absolute shit because he abandoned him. Because of Ging, Gon has severe abandonment issues and we can see that throughout the series in the way he talks and refers to his dad becoming a hunter. I know what it’s like to have those horrible thoughts spin through my head BECAUSE I was made to think I was a burden and shouldn’t have been born by my own parent. It’s just horrible, especially when he doesn’t even show any concern for the boy during the Election Arc.Genthru is on this list more or less because his character as a whole sucks. Can you remember his motive for wanting to blow up the whole player base of Greed Island? I sure as fuck can’t. And if the reason is ‘Just because!’ well guess what, that’s the shittiest thing a character’s motive could be. If there was a a huge treasure at the end of it, or like just a chance to, I unno…maybe get a card made after you? Then I guess I could understand a motive? Greed is a very strong motive for a lot of Shounen Villains, so that’s not too far off. But otherwise, Genthru isn’t that great of a villain and honestly very forgettable.1) Chrollo Lucilfer - Again, I mostly dislike this character more for moral reasons. I do enjoy writing him and I do enjoy his character and what he brings to the dynamic of certain arcs. But as a person, he’s despicable, too. He’s a True Neutral character, only looking out for himself and getting whatever he wants. He only cares for his Troupe and that’s it. He doesn’t shed a tear for people he’s killed for petty reasons, yet he sheds a tear and becomes enraged when one of his own friends is killed either in battle or suddenly and horribly. He could care less about those around him, and purposefully riles others up just for entertainment(this is speculation). He’s the type of character you dread interacting with in a game/DnD because you know that he doesn’t care if you have to die nor does he care if you did die while going to fetch a treasure for him. YOU are the NPC, HE is the Player. Nothing more, nothing less.

As promised, here’s a L/eopika fic records for @ichaichalivinglegacy and any other of my followers who like l/eopika ♥ Feel free to share!
So hm, I’m going to divide this in two posts. Because I have to re-read what I had read before and, well… It’s taking me forever ;;;
This is based on very personal judgement and preferences. I picked the ones I liked the most and that I really want to share and definitely recommend because the authors deserve it. Then again, as I said, it’s very subjective. I also tried to pick some I know you would enjoy, Icha. Well, hopefully you will… ;;;
So I’m started with the oldest, to the most recent (at least for this first part)
Kiss Me by Karcathy
“Leorio is bored, and Kurapika is a shameless tease. “
A short, very cute one
Hunter Spies, by Haruka
“Gon and Kirua decide to spy on Leorio and Kurapika.”
Another short, very cute one
Playing Catchup, by EnohIO
“"Even from down the hall, Leorio could see the door was slightly ajar.“
Leorio has a rather hesitant guest.”
For some reasons, I really like this one. I’m not sure how to describe it, a bit sad but sweet at the same time.
A Fine Substitute, by Ashkashi
“In which Leorio focuses more on Kurapika’s outfit than the job he’s supposed to be doing. “
More cute.
Take what you can get, by Eva
“Leorio and Kurapika reach an understanding. “
Decision about their relationship
The “Interlude” Series, by tastewithouttalent :
Constituted of six fictions. They form a continued story set inline with the canon universe. I really like how the author managed to fit leopika moments in between “holes” in the manga. Makes it a realistic and a very enjoyable leopika romance, imo.
Quiet, also by tastewithouttalent (I really like this author ) :
"”The two younger boys are sleeping in the same space, and it’s a small space, and they’ve already agreed to keep their hands to themselves for the evening.” Leorio and Kurapika try to resist temptation. And fail. “
Classic but oh so good (it’s explicit though, just so you know ;;
Avent Ground, by Mina Lightstar (ukefied)
It’s really Togashi’s fault for making Leorio and Kurapika wander around alone together for days.
I guess you can easily imagine when this is taking place ;; Explicit again.
The “Breaking The Ice” Series, by the same author, Mina Lightstar (ukefied)
Three fictions this time, also a continued story set inline with canon.
Oh boy, this series. I LOVE THIS SERIES. Tbh I absolutely adore the Interlude Series as well. Both are really, really great for the same reasons. And it’s nice. Really nice. (you have two explicit parts in the second and third fictions of the breaking ice series.)
There is Never a Time or a Place for True Love, by greenleafin
“some of the little things Leorio finds he likes more than a little about Kurapika”
A really cute, little one again.
Minimal, yet again, tastewithouttalent
“'Kurapika.’ Leorio’s voice is higher than he intends, laced over with the relief that always washes through him before he can manage to muster the anger he knows he should feel.“ Kurapika doesn’t pick up Leorio’s calls, but sometimes he calls Leorio first. “
Pretty bittersweet, but I really loved it (explicit again (phone sex))
Best Laid Plans (I love the joke, I mean, you’ll see), by Mina Lightstar (ukefied)
“Kurapika is hell-bent on being only Leorio’s friend. Let’s not complicate it with sexy feelings or anything, okay?”
This one is explicit as well. And it’s nice, I personally liked it. Kurapika has some difficulties registering a certain message and coming to terms with reality. Like, really, his brains were not on his sides in this fic, but you really can’t blame him ;;;
Reunion, tastewithouttalent again
“"Leorio’s eyes go wide with shock, his mouth drops open on words or surprise or both, and he’s moving instantly, crossing the distance between them on his unreasonably long legs, which is good because Kurapika can’t remember how to breathe, much less walk.” Kurapika and Leorio’s reunion.”
This one is happening in the DC arc, so you should probably wait a bit before reading it ;; Short and nice and on point.
Words so sweet, by youandyourlilies
“Leorio has never been one for words. “
Really, really sweet and cute!
Healing, by Blossomwitch
“Post-series. Leorio’s teacher observes his reaction to Kurapika’s final battle with the Spiders, and realizes what Leorio has been preparing himself to do all these years. “
Okay, I really loved this one. I loved the concept, I loved the idea, I loved the story. (Leorio’s teacher is an OC)
lay down your weary tune, by DuendeJunior
“Back then, the only thing I wanted was to find a doctor.”
Wishful thinking, kind of sad.
cicada moon, by ribbonista
“The fourth phase of the Hunter Exam is no time for rest. “
Another cute one.
In Vino Amaritas, by Caprichoso
“It took a bottle of ridiculously strong liquor, but Leorio has finally gotten Kurapika to loosen up enough to laugh. Unfortunately, a drunk Kurapika’s mind is like a minefield, and Leorio has never been good at treading carefully.”
Really, really bittersweet, but full of promises. Like many other fanfics I mentioned in this post already, Leorio is the best.
time and a half, by lunarlunch
“Five stories in which Leorio and Kurapika work harder on their relationship than on their Zodiac duties. (Everything in this collection was originally posted to my tumblr account.) “
So the five stories are very short, but there’s no really any spoilers about the DC arc, and I thought the whole thing was pretty nice.
Sleep (Too) Tight, by WingSongHalo
“Two Hunters. One Bed.
A short, light-hearted oneshot I wrote for a friend after I made a joke about how Kurapika is probably secretly a sleep-cuddler. Canon universe.”
The summary says it all, its cute and funny!
Answered Phone Calls, by bonelyskeleton
“Ultimately, Kurapika didn’t get any sleep. Just when he felt himself getting drowsy, the soft ringing of his phone awakened him. When the phone stopped ringing, he froze. The thought of no longer getting calls from the slightly older male was enough to practically send Kurapika into a panic, making him do something he would’ve never considered in the past. He called Leorio back. “
Ah, whenever we’re this far in the story, I want to say it’s pretty much always bittersweet. Leorio is a treasure. Must be protected.
until then, by Yellow
“”Kurapika has a funny look in his eyes, as if he’d run a hundred scenarios in his head on the way over, but Leorio bodily dragging him into his room to talk wasn’t one.”
-first contact on the ship to the Dark Continent”
Well, as it says, it’s during the DC arc, but there isn’t any spoilers actually. Tbh, the story is pretty similar to some of the fanfics I mentioned above. You know, Leorio and Kurapika having a talk about why Kurapika isolated himself from his friends after YorkShin.
And that’s it for the first part. When I’ll get more time I’ll do the secon part. Some of my favorites I have yet to talk about! As for this part, I put in bold the ones I loved the most.

The key reason of my hatred towards kishi is how he sold out his own work in that be basically decided to think with his wallet and not his actual brain (if he has one) what's your opinion on that?
If you write for a magazine like WSJ, you don’t have complete control of your works. But I think that’s only half his problems, really he can’t write.
Some argue he’s asked by shonen jump to extend his series even when he’s already losing interest and ran out of ideas. This happens to all successful manga series. Togashi and Toriyama wrote 2 more arcs before Jump let them end their series, but they’re decent arcs.  Kishi is just especially bad when it comes to plot ideas.
Even if Jump demanded a spinoff after the ending, it didn’t have to be about kids of the original series characters. Kuroko no Basuke’s spinoff is a prequel about the main characters. It’s Kishimoto’s faults he baited the shippers and he’s left with a fandom who’re more interested in marriage and kids than the original characters.

KilluGon reference in the Succession War arc (Togashi himself made a submission to the killugon playlist) (NOT CLICKBAIT!)
guys holy shit okay so I was looking through the succession war arc because I wanted to find that panel of the CANON HXH LESBIAN KISS but I got sidetracked and started reading chapter 375 where I found something that ended up changing my entire life trajectory :
Tumblr media
Here in chapter 375, Tyson is giving "the teachings of love" . Tyson goes on speech that could easily apply to both Gon and Killua post-separation. We're not too sure of what the two are currently up to, but it's reasonable to assume that this is how they feel, considering they had wished to always be by each other's sides.
And then in the next panel, it is said that the speech was just a rip off of Nishino Kana's lyrics. "Darling" and "No Matter How Much" (Tatoe Donna Ni) are the two mentioned Nishino Kana songs.
Out of curiosity, I looked up both songs and the english translated lyrics of them.
That's when it happened...
Tumblr media
and
Tumblr media
It's pretty damn obvious so I won't dissect it too much, but both lyrics could apply to Gon and Killua. "Darling" being from Killua's side and "No Matter How Much" from Gon's.
you must be pretty strange for someone who's said to be selfish.
i wish i hadn't said those selfish things, if i could erase what i said that day...
i have to pick up all of your scraps, always always i grumble.
i got too spoiled by your kindness.
for someone who wants to be by your side forever and ever.
if i'd stuck it out, would you still be by my side?
I mean, c'mon. The lyrics are soooo killugon coded, and the fact that Togashi paired these two particular songs together. There's no way someone could listen to them and not make the connection to Gon and Killua.
I even added some silly little visuals for your convenience :

Feel free to interpret this as platonic if you want. Idk how, but go ahead!
This was all just an observation of the two particular songs mentioned after a speech about missing someone and wishing you could go back to those days. It could totally just be a coincidence. Just Togashi being the silly man he is, picking two completely random songs that have absolutely no significance whatsoever to the previous events of the main storyline while being totally unaware of the similarities!
Well, that's all I have to say for today. These breadcrumbs will keep me fed for a good while. If you've made it this far, thank you for reading. I have lots of drafts for killugon evidence that I hope to post soon.

halfway through making this post i realized most of these aren’t even out of context LMAO but whatever
also i’m sorry if it looks messy, i had to fit some of them into a collage bc of Tumblr’s 10 image limit (ugh there’s too many of these shojo elements in hxh. and i left out A LOT. i made sacrifices.)
i guess hxh really is a shojo
but with battles and action
yeah that sounds about right, i think that’s the perfect description of Hunter x Hunter
