dungeonFebruary: a retrospective
here they are, all four maps edited together into a single dungeon over two floors!
it was a lot of fun to draw it, highlights (of both rooms and monsters) and further thoughts under the cut :D
first things first; some rooms
(you might need to click on each picture to read/see the whole thing)
just some personal favorites, rooms 15, 21, and 25 are stolen from references to stuff (if you recognize what: <3), 6 and 20 were both really fun to put together, and room 29 is the last possible trap of the dungeon :3
next up; monsters!
the first two are room spesific, the latter three random encounters, hence the numbers being written different, picking out just 5 to share was kinda hard, but im really happy with theese, yet again some of theese are stolen from inspired by stuff
now; for my thoughts on this whole thing
i had a lot of fun drawing and designing this, so much so that im kinda sad to be done, the ritual of sitting down to draw each day or to catch up on a few days was nice, and i really like designing silly little rooms and filling them with references i know my players wont pick up on
i might pick this format back up for a month or two this year and im Definetly doing dungeon25 next year, but im really happy i did this instead of trying to catch up on dungeon24 in full, doing it this way let me figure out stuff like how i want to format my notes for a larger dungeon, how many extra notebooks ill need (one for ideas and one beastiary, for now), and some general design rules for myself
all in all if you have read this far and think it looks kinda fun i say go for it! you dont need to follow a spesific month/year, thats just something i feel like doing, the point is to have a little creative challange to do each day for a set amount of days :D

The upload quality is terrible because I was using a random sized canvas but Here’s some of the doodles I did while reading @crumpetz amazing fic The Big Road Home. Their Tim and Jason make me unreasonably soft. Please read it.
I said in a comment weeks ago I’d been doodling them but wasn’t really intending to post anywhere but I figure if someone had done even a five second doodle based on something I’d written I’d really love to see it. So.

Me watching Red, White & Royal Blue with (2) straight male brothers and (3) straight male cousins (and one female cousin):
My brother: so the President is a woman?? That’s not realistic.
Me: it’s supposed to be idealistic.
My cousin: he said it’s not realistic.
Me: *laughing* oh, you’re saying a woman can’t be President?
My brother: *also laughing* yeah, I can’t get past that part obviously.
*later*
My cousin (Leo): the prime minister is aLSO a woman???
Me: Leo’s like “well, this has just gone TOO far.”
My brother: people are gay but women can’t be in power.
*later*
Alex: and I thought Alex Gabriel Claremont-Diaz was a mouthful.
Henry: … he is.
My brother: *leaning forward* oh my gOD.
*later*
Henry: *jumps into the water to avoid Alex expressing his feelings*
My brother: Henry is being really homophobic right now.
Me: that was a very gay culture thing to say, we love calling each other and bad things that happen to us homophobic.
My brother: oh good, I love being homophobic.
*later*
Alex: *says the word queer*
My brother: I thought that was a slur.
Me: it can be, it’s been reclaimed. You can say it, but I wouldn’t call someone it unless they told you they want to be called that.
My cousin: *coming back from the bathroom* WHAT WORD?
Me: queer.
My cousin: oh good, I thought you meant the f word.
My brother: YOU THOUGHT- No, you can’t say that one! *laughing*
Me: lol no, you can’t. Not that one or dyke.
My cousin: What does that mean?
Me: it's a slur for lesbians.
My brother: ….Melissa, can I have the d word pass?
Me: *laughing* you want to say dyke?
My brother: maybe!
*later*
My dad: *walking by* Adam, do you want to play some basketball?
My brother (Adam): *eyes not leaving the screen* maybe later, I have to finish this movie.
*later*
Henry and Alex: *romantic sex scene on screen*
My brother, for the tenth time this movie: I can’t bELIEVE these actors are straight.
