I don’t understand why Kishimoto never added Kakashi having thoughts about Gai when he died in the pain assault. It’s like he doesn’t want his relationship with Gai to have depth but then adds all these interactions and feelings that show how much he means to Kakashi.

He thinks of his dead friends and family, he thinks of Konoha 11, but he doesn’t think about his longest and biggest support? Not even a passing thought?

Might Gai is Kakashi’s best friend and rival, he isn’t a nuisance to him and he doesn’t think he’s less than him. Their relationship has substance and evidence to show how much they care about one another, im sick of Kishimoto and his constant need to diminish it then prop it up and then diminish it again. How can he be so inconsistent with relationships and character writing??

But at least one of the essays claims it deals with Annihilation and how it deals with racial assimilation like in Midsommar and I just can’t see how that works in a way that won’t be either cringe or just full on fail. Also one of the chapters dealing with xeno feminism is really how a third party is required for heterosexual partnerships and not you know also making men to do their share and kinda miss the boat on how threesomes are some sort of futuristic endeavour which is well ahistorical and just frankly strange. Am I being too judgy or am I right in getting a vibe of annoying choice feminism and misreading on race and should just shelve this one?

Minor non story spoilers for the gerudo archaeologist quest.

I was finally exploring the gerudo highlands and I thought I'd stop by the old eighth heroine statue - the one we proved was apparently Link (??!). I've got the vows tagging along, I'm excited to show them!

I get there and say a sentence I did not ever expect to say:

See, I remember this statue featuring in the very first reveal trailer of totk, long before the name, and people were going insane over the idea of there being some sort of secret cave behind the statue, that it was of ganondorf, that ganons mortal form was buried under there, that there was zonai stuff inside. So I was quite upset that it wasn't a normal erosion at the feet and instead Nintendo had removed my face to put a giant mirror there instead.

Whatever, I light it up, anticipating the kind of treasure that would be hiding in the head of the giant ancient statue of link, important enough that it was decided upon so early in development and even featured in the VERY FIRST trailer of the game!

There's a bandit armour chest!! It's guarded by gibdo!! Wow, it must be good! I wonder what I'll get! The cap of the wild?? A diamond circlet? A piece of dragon armour?!

unfortunate plant news is that my string of bananas has made the executive decision that being inside is Awful and the only way to escape is by death. the two donkey tails are both giving me the “don’t think we won’t” look and beans are starting to look iffy, some shriveling, a few falling. looks like it’s going to be a long, stressful winter for me and the succulents.
