Nel primo giorno di maggio del 1968, a Rimini, l'ingegnere bolognese Giorgio Rosa eresse un vessillo arancione con tre rose rosse su uno sfondo bianco su una piattaforma artificiale che designò come Stato indipendente, un'isola situata al di fuori delle acque territoriali italiane. Questo gesto diede vita al mito dell'Isola delle Rose.Questa narrazione, seppur autentica, appare quasi incredibile. I NOSTRI PATREON POSSONO LEGGERE LA STORIA AL LINK: https://www.patreon.com/AllyoucanItaly L'Isola delle Rose, una struttura su palafitta di circa 400 metri quadrati, venne costruita su una struttura di tubi d'acciaio, posizionata a circa 6,27 miglia nautiche di distanza dalla costa riminese, ovvero a circa 11 chilometri e mezzo, ossia 500 metri al di là delle acque territoriali italiane.Quest'isola fu concepita come una sorta di Utopia, ispirata all'ideale di Thomas More, una micro-nazione libera e ideale, completamente separata dallo Stato italiano. Essa possedeva una propria bandiera, adoperava come lingua ufficiale l'esperanto (da cui il nome originale dell'isola, Insulo de la Rozoj), adottava come valuta il Mill, e aveva una serie di servizi postali completamente autonomi.Giorgio Rosa, il mentore di questo luogo, era un ingegnere bolognese che in passato aveva avuto legami con la cosiddetta Repubblica di Salò durante gli anni della Guerra. L'obiettivo principale di questa sua iniziativa era creare uno stato del tutto indipendente dallo Stato italiano, anche sul piano fiscale, prendendo spunto dal modello di autonomia di San Marino. La sostenibilità economica sarebbe stata garantita tramite ristoranti e negozi di souvenir pensati per accogliere i turisti e i visitatori provenienti da Rimini.Le cronache dell'epoca riportarono ampiamente questa notizia, amplificandone la visibilità anche grazie alle leggende e alle storie che circolavano intorno all'Isola. Si mormorava della presenza di un casinò, di bordelli e persino di una stazione radio pirata, ma anche di essere un centro di spionaggio internazionale, e persino di ospitare sottomarini sovietici. Nulla di tutto ciò fu mai confermato, ma il solo ideale che incarnava era sufficiente a rappresentare una sfida per lo Stato italiano.
