as sunny from omori, i remember kel falling off the swings at the playground when we were children. we liked to do these little contests to see who could swing the highest. kel always won, but its fine because i simply enjoyed swinging (the wind, watching the sky 'move' above me, feeling like I'm flying) and being with him (hearing his laughter, his loud brash voice, and just being around his infectiously good mood). once he got into a lil accident when he was trying to get off his swing and ended up launching himself across the playground sand. he was fine. we made sure he was more careful when he played on the swings again

one thing i love about this game is the community aspect makes certain things much easier

like fur example. each player has a plant in their house. there's lotz of diff plants in the game && all the plants bear diff fruit obviously. watering uur own plant && others' plants gives uu exp && coins (quite a meager amount tho) and it's part of quests sometimes

&& when the plants bear fruit, other players can pick uur fruit and get normal fruit! 6 normal fruit is required to attend a party! (bc uu have to contribute treats oooobviously)

when enough people have taken fruit from uur own plant, then uur own normal fruit turns into rare fruit! && when uu have 3 of the same rare fruit uu can be the one who throws parties!

does that sound convoluted. idc it makes perfect sense to me in the game (⁠ʘ⁠ᴗ⁠ʘ⁠✿⁠)

so here's where the community part comes in. there's different forums uu can post to, but the most important forums (to me) are the water, fruit, && party forums. when someone wants ppl to water their plant, they post in the water forum and include what town they live ingame. when someone wants ppl to take fruit, they post in the fruit forum. && when someone holds a party, they post in the party forum

see this makes thingz SO much easier.

there's a quest where uu need to water 8 plants from a specific town (my melody park, hello kitty avenue, etc. bc remember this is Sanrio). now uu could spam the "walk" button && go to random houses and pray uu find someone who lives in the town that uu need.

but it's faster w the forum! bc uu just open the water forum and since everyone states which town they live in, it's easy to find ppl who live in the town uu need fur the quest!

and if uu wanna attend a party but uur low on normal fruit, just open the fruit forum! easy as that!

&& when uu get enough normal fruit from picking other ppls fruits, then uu can find a party to attend in the party forum!! i luv checking out posts in the party forum and see which party to attend based on the plushes i can get if i attend :3 (bc diff rare fruits used to start a party = diff plushes that the host and attendants can receive)

so yeah that's the main thing i wanna infodump about. i think the gacha could still be a bit better but if uu just keep logging in every day, even just to do basic quests, it still helps ^_^

I'm aiming to get 2k coins so i can pull 7x on the aurora aquarium banner and 7x on the moon horoscope banner bc i like the aesthetics :3 i might pull on the brown leopard banner too but it's not my top priority rn. I'm a gambling addict tho so sometimes i do 2-4 pulls on other banners just to take the edge off LMAOAOOA (when uu pull for the first time on a banner the price is cheaper! then it goes up on the 2nd time, up again on the 3rd time, until it goes up and stops at the 4th time i think)

I'm hoping to pull on banners w darker colors though. i don't fancy the light cutesy colors very much

there's a limit on how much you can be an isekai intellectual...

a bunch of analyses have been popping up before me all day so i wanted to throw my hat into the ring. all love to ppl who are exercising their creative minds + ppl like geoff here who just talk about these things because of fan interest but i feel like there reaches a point where exploring the "types" of isekai is pointless? i've seen ppl list out the different types of villainess revenge isekai or fantasy mmorpg isekai but eh why fit them all into separate boxes like that?

i think it's easier to think of isekai as a "type" (genre) of itself with only two categories: 1) a focus on isekai (lit. another world) 2) tensei (lit. to be reborn). this allows for a variety of applications and thus tropes that ppl see so many trends of!

with isekai - in another world

you see everything from:

pure fantasy (inuyasha, digimon wait maybe not the best example but in my childhood mind i count digimon as pure fantasy, fushigi yugi)

mmorpg inspired fantasy/adventure (.hack//legend of twilight, sao ugh, log horizon, overlord (LOVE OVERLORD!)

otome game-esque worlds >>> this is where it gets complicated with "villainess routes" since i admit there are multiple villainess tropes but this is why it's nice to not think of this as a "sub-type/genre" bc it frees you from those complications! (the saint's magic power is omnipotent, the white cat's revenge as plotted from the dragon king's lap soso cute!, the savior's book cafe in another world, i'm a villainous daughter so i'm going to keep the last boss wait i can't remember if she's reborn in this one lmaooo see this is why rules make everything hard)

with tensei storylines - being reincarnated/reborn in another world as *insert character/role*

you see...

the same tropes!!

pure fantasy (a returner's magic should be special, reminiscence adonis, the lady and the beast, light and shadow, i can't think of a manga off the top of my head for this ah)

mmorpg inspired fantasy/adventure (so i'm a spider so what i stan kumoko so hard, her majesty's swarm, can't name another off the top of my head ah i hate lists shorter than two things...)

self-insert based games/novels (fiance's observation log of a self-proclaimed villainess, who made me a princess, death is the only ending for the villainess, the villainess wants to marry a commoner, honestly games vs novels are different applications but i'm not in the headspace to try to remember a bunch of both lol)

*insert line break to give random ppl a break from scrolling but tl; dr just enjoy things for what they are no need to micro analyze*

similar variations occur in both genres (if ppl want to be super technical i guess i'm arguing that isekai itself is a massive genre that has the "another world" subgenre and "reincarnation" subgenre tl; dr) so i think it's honestly a huge pain to try to separate all these trends into so many different types of stories. for me personally it's easier to not get overwhelmed by this gigantic umbrella of "isekai" that spans light novels, manhwa, manga, and mobile games by just stripping each story down into its trademark tropes (aka character archetypes, story structures) and slapping "oh this is a person going to a world that's not ours" and "this person gets reborn as blank in another world". none of this "omg this power fantasy is such a this kind of isekai moment" or "there are 14 different types of villainess revenge stories and this series fits into this" bc AH labels! limitations! circle-jerks via ppl trying to compartmentalize everything and sound smart for leaving a comment on story analysis instead of ooh-ahhing over a character's face! dividing things into light novel manga vs manga vs korean manhwa ft. female characters!

the last bit is mainly why i feel frustrated by ppl's insistence to group everything?

the video linked at the beginning of the post (honestly good video essay, i enjoyed it, i just kept thinking in my head the whole time "marimo these are tropes do not take the genre talk literally") has a baby comment thread talking about "korean isekai manhwas" as a genre featuring nothing but reincarnated villainess' and i can't.

like i cannot acknowledge that as a genre of any sort. the energy i felt reading through some of those insights takes me back to 2012 when all yt americans discovered k-pop and deemed all korean music k-pop from then on! (ppl still do this now, yes you are seen and don't talk to me pls i don't like you. k-pop is korean pop music and nothing less and nothing more. take a few seconds and try to parse apart aspects of korean culture instead of slamming everything into a monolithic label that has the letter k and a hyphen.) it feels so odd to see a bunch of young ppl on ig and tiktok acknowledge korean media that happens to be in the form of a webtoon as "oh stories all about young girls becoming villains in stories they made/played" bc it feels so reductive u.u

(positionality disclaimer that i'm praying isn't actually necessary: i am a 3rd-generation korean of japanese descent do not fite me i am exhausted irl of ppl asking for validation/verification bc massive shove off.)

breaking news! korean manhwa...is just as multifaceted as japanese manga...bc how can comics as an art-form not have multiple genres...huh such a shocker?!?! same likely applies to media in other parts of the world like chinese manhwa and french comics--not my place to explain either of those i just know those industries exist bc of wakfu and donghua shows by Tencent.

at the end of the day it's not like analyzing any kind of isekai is wrong--absolutely not!! i think it can be super fun to think about how isekai elements complicate a story (MCs trying to go back home, ppl from the og world, reincarnation plot-twists) or maybe even bash a series for including some kind of other world element when they could have just written a super fun fantasy.

insert marimo's brief ramble that hey you can get sick of truck-kun's hitting disillusioned guys who happen to be super duper smart or girls who happen to be master chefs/craftsmen but transporting a fully-grown being into a fantasy setting is the ultimate cheat code for making mundane modern technology seem cool and overpowered, and being reincarnated as a fully grown person in a world with a pre-made story/game set-up completely bypasses the need for an author to slowly flesh out world-building in a natural progression so isekai is actually a really smart writing tool it's just that there are some series where the author didn't use it well at all and it's cheesy or clearly isekai was misused as a vehicle for character/story development and it was pointless *DEEP BREATH OUT*

in this essay i will argue...lol i am such a culture studies major!! if i were an english major i would be talking all about writing but here i am having a side-tangent about world-building via someone being reborn wow i love this for me (don't get me started on when an author has someone reincarnate as a baby and the story is mostly them having warm fluffy moments with their family--typically father figures--and getting lots of powers i could and would and probably will rant about east asian toxicity)

but anyway am i crazy????? like yes for being passionate about the technical use of a word like genre (i am a scorpio rising let me be fussy pls) but i don't think it's a lot to ask for ppl to not unironically see "villainess revenge isekai" as the definition of korean manhwa.

idk as someone who resonates with why japanese isekai is so popular domestically + why a lot of korean manhwa feat. the same tropes (it's not for great reasons lads it's actually depressing tbh) i'm just starting to feel kind of pained by the generalization and need to separate "cute japanese girl in an otome game"/"japanese boy finds a harem in another world" from "korean girl dies and comes back as a villainess" bc they are just! applications to the same story device!!

3: Best game you’ve ever played? WEEEELLLL.......let me preface this with two things: one, i am a FAKE GAMER as in my laptop is not at all made for gaming, it’s piss poor, so a big chunk of games i’m interested in is because i watched a playthrough of them lol. i have a 3ds but only 3 games on it (animal crossing new leaf, tomodachi life, nintedogs & cats). second, i’m very bad at choosing favorites of things.....BUUUUT .....i choooooose, in no particular order, OFF, pigeonetics, elder scrolls oblivion, pathologic classic HD!! i’m more than likely forgetting a few though, so sorry about that

4: Worst game you’ve ever played? as i said above, cannot choose favorites, neither can i choose whatever the opposite of favorites is but...uhh, does lif even count as a game? like lif, the stupid little furry flash game i remember playing on some shady website. it was surprisingly very active with a BUNCH of people there but i kept dying like every 5 seconds....AWFUL

6: A game that’s changed you the most? WELL define Changed.....ummm aha first thing that comes to mind is OFF. it’s one of those things where you never knew you wanted something so fucking bad until you saw it--and it’s like that for me. i NEVER knew i loved that odd, surreal, colorful, “looks playful and simple in some parts but incredibly violent and unnerving in other parts” aesthetic til i played it. like aesthetically i love that game to BITS and something about it just stuck with me til the end of time.

later in life (meaning, past year or so) it changed me because it taught me a lesson about storytelling and creative endeavors. a very useful lesson. which is: things don’t really need to have a meaning. stories, art, music, writing, whatnot, while it CAN be deep and meaningful, while you CAN use it as a way to communicate with the world about all kinds of heartfelt things, it can also be...nothing, really.

once i, as usual, got ridiculously overwhelmingly sad about small things. specifically seeing other people around me come up with all kinds of deep and meaningful characters and stories, sometimes putting them into webcomics or writings of theirs, and they were all so well-thought out and detailed and what i envied most was people put a lot of themselves and their experiences into them, venting and coping through them, whilst also making these larger-than-life grandiose complex stories and worlds and so on and so forth.

it made me look at my own ideas and get mad/frustrated at how shallow they were. but then i remembered OFF and i felt better because Fun Fact, mortis ghost has a now-abandoned dA account and if you go through the comment section on his profile, he answers a lot of fan questions and he mentions several times that the game didn’t really have a “meaning”, it didn’t really have a “deeper story” or moral or anything, really. i’m paraphrasing this but i vividly remember him saying “i wanted to make a game, so i did”.

that made me feel a lot better because it made me realise that sometimes art--especially stories, in my case-- doesn’t NEED to be DEEP or have MEANING...sometimes it can just BE!!!! sometimes it really can just be all about AESTHETICS like who GIVES a shit if there’s a hidden meaning if you take the first letter of all of your characters’ names and put them backwards, sometimes all that matters is if they just VIBE with you y’know....

yume nikki is similar in this regard bc that game doesn’t have any story other than “collect egg” and yet it’s so impactful. that game doesn’t have a story or meaning it just IS........ :) GOD THATS SO LONG IM SORRY ABOUT THAT but yeah. funny violent ghostbusting baseball man is a game that changed me :)

7: A game you’ll never forget? OFF AGAIN LOL,,, it’s just so memorable because of how unique it is. visuals, soundtrack, story, everything is so memorable. unforgettable. oh god you can tell how much i love this damn game can’t you

8: Best soundtrack? yakuza 0, OFF, there is a picture (another game by mortis ghost, again composed by alias conrad coldwood who also composed OFF), pigeonetics (the entire soundtrack of which is here), jojo’s bizarre adventure all star battle and eyes of heaven, silent hill 2 & 3, undertale....probably forgetting more but all of these...earcandy

11: Hardest game you’ve played? i am a shitty gamer so this is Most games i’ve played lol!! but uhh..well you see. hardest game i remember playing as of recent is pathologic classic hd in which it’s...not only hard to understand what any character is saying at any given time lol but also, i don’t think it’s HARD it’s just...you need to focus. you REALLY need to fucking focus and pay attention in this game. so i wouldn’t say its HARD, but i’m only putting this here bc it’s in recent memory.

i say recent memory because the true answer is susceptible to “yeah, but now you’re older, it must not be so hard.” as in if i played it now i think i’d have a way easier time. but when i was around....10-12 years old i had several ps3 video game adaptations of animated movies and i had SUCH a fucking hard time with them. g-force, bolt and up in particular were fucking HARD. like genuinely, the hardest time i had EVER had in my live playing video games is tied to these three fucking games. g-force and bolt ESPECIALLY. one particular level in bolt took both me AND my sister around a year to fucking finish.

again, i was baby, so i bet i’d have a much easier time with them now that i’m 17. but for now, in my experience, bolt and g-force for the ps3 were harder than pathologic classic. i think icepick lodge should take a few notes for them for pathologic 2.

13: A game you were the most excited for when it wasn’t released yet? STREETS OF KAMUROCHO...i spent the entire day of its release anticipating its launch lol

14: A game you think would be cool if it had voice acting? hmm..most games i like and know about do have voice acting so i dunno....i guess it would’ve been kind of cool if morrowind had like, full proper voice acting. but i can understand why it only voice acted things like greetings and battle insults because GOD that game is SO...complicated...and as a result, the conversations are so lengthy and text-full. playing morrowind is really like a goddamn book! if it was voice acted i’m sure all that information would have to be shortened bc i know no one is going to fucking voice act two whole paragraphs

15: Which two games do you think would make an awesome crossover? pigeonetics and yakuza in which instead of being about the criminal underworld it’s about shady and unethical pigeon clubs, breeding, racing, etc etc...a lot of illegal shit does happen in the world of pigeons especially when it comes to racing; prized racers have been kidnapped and held for ransom before. and then there’s Avian Cucking: The Sport, where people breed the sexiest pigeons (horseman thief pouters), release them outside to seduce other people’s sexy pigeons, and bring them back and keep ‘em, drama ensues. will kiryu ever escape his past as a professional pigeon-napper, and find solace in his new life as a pigeon hobbyist? find out now by playing YACOOZA......

JOKES ASIDES i don’t know i really don’t....umm, pigeonetics and animal crossing somehow?? :O... like, instead of managing your own town it’s managing your own loft!...orrrr, the jojo games (all star battle & eyes of heaven) with yakuza, because i think they’re somewhat similar because they’re both haha Wacky Silly AND serious over the top fighty-fighting.....or maybe a crossover with OFF and discover my body, which, despite being an incredibly short and obscure indie game i still love to bits for what it’s worth. WAIT ANIMAL CROSSING AND MINECRAFT THAT WOULD FUCK SO HARD OH MY GOD

16: Character you’ve hated most? From what game? i can’t think of any character i like, HATE...with a burning passion.. there are a few i dislike or have a complicated relationship with though.. i’m not interested in the series anymore but ouma from drv3...i’ll admit that he is a bit fun sometimes, especially in the very early beginning he’s a likeable brat but as the game progresses he becomes more irritating than anything and i have an issue with him in regards to writing, despite the fact that i have never been awake in any english class ever lol. it’s too long to put in this already long post but i’ll keep it at that. if you like him, well, good for you for finding joy in something i couldn’t! but he just doesn’t do it for me.

been reading youtube comment arguments (mistake) about how g//enshin is a bad game with a bad bland story and simplistic gameplay and anyone who enjoys it is an inexperienced child, and h//onkai i//mpact is WAY better and g//enshin is just a passionless moneygrab

and i'd like to address all of those comments here without actually getting into a youtube comment argument bc that would be the biggest mistake of all (trying to censor so this doesn't end up in any tags either, hopefully i succeed)

first off: i'm free to waste my time on anything that brings me real joy and entertainment no matter how "bad" somebody else thinks it is. i'm allowed to have bad taste. we're all allowed to have bad taste. you don't need to be condescending about it. grow up and embrace the cringe.

i'm fully aware that the characters are tropey and the storytelling is hardly the most nuanced or thematically resonant and the pacing is all over the place and the plot is inconsistent. so? i enjoy cheesy anime bullshit. i shrug off plot holes. the characters are charming and--this is important to me--not hypersexualized at every turn. the fact that it comes across almost as a dating sim sometimes makes me laugh, and it never takes it so far that i feel skeeved out. it doesn't take itself too seriously and its humor comes across in the jokes it makes at its own expense. it has enough "dark" elements to offset the silliness and enough sincerity to make those moments hit often enough for me to be genuinely invested. there's more i could say here! which quests i thought were forgettable or had more obvious plot holes, which ones made me fall in love with a character, which ones made me roll my eyes, which ones brought me to tears. it's almost like.......a person can have complex and nuanced opinions about a thing they enjoy without declaring it unambiguously "good" or "bad" on a binary scale? wild

second: the "simplistic characters" thing. ppl keep saying that characters "only have 2 abilities" and are "too simple" as though passive talents, weapon passives, elemental reactions, artifacts, and 4-character team synergy aren't enough to manage. you know what "simple" is? accessible. n00b-friendly. casual-friendly. i'm sorry that y'all are Expert Gamers and yet this game caters to me and my skill level than it does to you and your expectations of 30-branch skill trees

third: idk how these people don't feel the passion in every note of the OST, or the thought and care carved into the landscape. i think the people who designed the cat shrine island were filled with love. i think whoever came up with the frog pedestal hidden in the depths of the Chasm couldn't wait for people to discover their little joke. maybe those commenters never watched the version update streams where the concept artists and developers themselves talked about how much research they did to make in//azuma feel visually diverse yet conceptually unified, from the texture of the stone to the type of tree growing in naru//kami shrine. there's love in every extra line of dialogue tucked into the character menus to let us get to know their history, relationships, interests, hopes, and personality far beyond what we see in quests. believe me, i've played bland, passionless mobile games before (and deleted all of them in short order), and this isn't what they look like. i'm so sorry that the only demonstrations of love you can imagine are character kits and the ever-elusive "endgame content."

fourth: "h//onkai i//mpact is better/has better cutscenes/has a better story." i juuuust barely reached chapter 9 recently after months of forgetting that i "should" play it because it's "better." and yeah, when i finally reached it, the CG kicked ass! it was really cool, with great animation and a character moment that hit decently hard.

but i don't feel like i really...know anyone? until that moment, the characters felt mostly like tropey plot/exposition machines in between samey combat levels with camera controls that fight you at every turn and movement that feels like you're running through water half the time. i kept losing interest and taking weeks to pick up the game again. i hate every time i have to get into one of those slow-ass mechs. not a fan of the space defender levels or the floaty, awkward platformer segments. many of the enemies & missions feel random and decontextualized from the story surrounding them (why did i have to defend supplies during an infiltration mission?). the homescreen UI is an assault on my eyes, as is the fact that i get pop-ups thrown in my face every time i open the game. there are approximately one thousand types of in-game currency at any given time and i have no idea which ones are "standard" and which ones are for events, or where to use them, or where to get them. i hate that stigmata, a type of equipment, just look like more characters, AND that you have to use the gacha to get that equipment. you have to go through 8 menus before you do ANYTHING.

i'm not saying h//onkai is a bad game. on a surface level, it just ain't my jam, fam. if i stick with it, though, it'll probably grow on me, especially if i go out of my way to watch character trailers or read the manga so i actually feel connected to what's happening.

but to be 100% honest, i am simply a bigger fan of fantasy/mythological elements than i ever will be of sci fi and mechs, even though i do enjoy both. g//enshin showed me a giant, six-winged, blue-green dragon within 10 minutes of opening the game and my whole brain got dopey with seratonin. there are gods and illuminated beasts, mischievous spirits and silly tanuki, elementals and giant snakes and ancient ruins and likely more to come with every new real-world culture they take inspiration from. on a level that is fundamental to my very being, i care about all of that SO MUCH MORE than robots and zombies!!! and for a lot of people, i'm sure the exact opposite is true and those people lost their dang minds about getting to shoot missiles in a cool chunky mech. some of my h//onkai nitpicks probably apply to g//enshin to some extent too, but i notice them less because i'm so much more excited about everything that surrounds them.

none of us are incorrect! we just care about different things!!! and that care applies to everything from story structure, to game mechanics, to combat, to the genre itself!

back to the cool CG for a sec tho: the thing about it is that a) it thematically and stylistically matched the rest of the game, and b) it didn't use the game engine. it was 2D anime-style animation.

g//enshin does not have any 2D anime-style animated cutscenes in the game (though it has a recently-released short animated story teaser). all of the major cutscenes that happen in the present USE THE GAME ENGINE, and the cutscenes that are retellings of past events are highly stylized animations that reflect the art and culture of the relevant region. i highly doubt this is a budget issue, or a passion issue, as those commenters claim. it sure seems like a creative choice to me!! maybe i'm wrong and we'll get dramatic anime cutscenes in the future, but honestly i feel like that style would be kind of jarring to see in-game, especially if it replaces what is usually a pretty smooth transition from gameplay to game-engine cutscene.

and the game engine thing is important to me!! i can't tell you how many times i've seen a genuinely cool promotion for a game that ends up looking absolutely nothing like how it was advertised, with gameplay that feels even more stilted and limiting as a result of unmet expectations. (looking at you, LoL. if only you were as cool as all your promo material.) but g//enshin really looks Like That ALL THE TIME, albeit with more canned animations in standard gameplay.

meanwhile, h//onkai's genre and environment are well suited to those flashy 2D animations IN ADDITION to having a game engine that (as far as i'm aware) is NOT well-suited to portraying complex character expressions or dynamic environmental interactions. i could very well be wrong about this (i'm not on the dev team! obviously!), but it's potentially easier/less expensive to animate a whole scene like that in 2D than it would be to make it look good in the game engine.

idk if h//onkai really is the company's "favorite child" or whatever but i'm preeeeeetty sure there are more factors deciding what format the cutscenes take than just "they like the other game better."

fifth: there were also comments that boiled down to "they make a lot of money so they should be able to just Instantly Get Good," which is both a supremely ignorant take and demonstrably untrue (see: every argument about recent pok//emon games). i mean, i don't really know how the game development process works, but i'm pretty sure it's not some sim game where you click a button to instantly upgrade all your employees so they can produce the next quality tier of products. shit takes time to create! people need experience! apparently it took the devs a long ass time just to make sure Chi//lde's flowy cape didn't break the fucking game! i know it feels like there are long stretches with nothing to do but realistically speaking these updates/characters/events are coming out at BREAKNECK speed.

lastly: there are tons of perfectly valid complaints about g//enshin! it is far from perfect. i'm not gonna defend the artifact grinding system bc the artifact RNG is an absolute endless nightmare, no question. and i agree that the endgame content is lackluster at best, though personally idk what form i would want ongoing content to take. randomly generated co-opable dungeons maybe? i dunno! i just know not everybody likes fishing and mining as much as i do.

there's also the issue of the "empty world," which is less a g//enshin-specific problem and more about the inherently transient nature of exploration--like alb//edo mentioned in a quest one time, actually: once the unknown becomes known, interest fades, and what was once exciting becomes boring. b/ot/w had the same problem (arguably to a greater extent), but it was less noticeable for a lot of people because the story had a finite end, whereas g//enshin is ongoing. i don't think there's a real solution to this; it's just the nature of an open-world game released in pieces. we will always consume content so much faster than the creators can research, design, program, test, and implement it.

that was a whole lot of rambling to no one in particular (well, multiple people in particular, but no one i want to actually talk to) but it all boils down to this:

if you do not love this game--if you find the story bland, the characters boring, the gameplay overly simplistic, the world passionless, and the endgame empty--why the FUCK are you in the comments of a video about it? how did you even REACH endgame if you were so fucking bored the whole time? did you really spend weeks, if not months of your life on something that you apparently view with nothing but disdain, enough to throw contempt at anyone who genuinely enjoys it? was there nothing you loved, nothing that captured your attention? is it really the g//enshin devs who are loveless and passionless, or are you just projecting?
