had a very random urge to draw my old Wings of Fire ocs, i havent drawn most of them in such a long time and i’m so far behind on the book series, but i still think they’re neat
Anyways, this is Shadowspinner. She used to be a Night/Icewing hybrid, but eventually settled into just a pure-bred nightwing. The light colored spikes in her back are a rémanent from her old designs, as they used to be an icy white color
Some fun facts about her are that she’s mean and has a pinkish-purple flame instead of the normal orange-red color

For the oc asks. You said you'd do all 40, but as tempting as it was to just ask all 40, I have restrained myself
1, 4 (for Benny), 10, 16, 22 ;), 24, 30, 35, 37
Thank you for giving me a good handful to do >:)
Here’s my ToyHouse for anyone who wants to look at characters designs! It’s still being slowly updated (lots of folders dont have all the characters in them rn) but I think most of the Oc’s mentioned are in there right now
Have you ever picked up a habit from developing/writing one of your own characters? And if so, who and what?
All! The! Time! I self project a lot into my oc’s so I tend to give them habits that I have/used to have & when writing them I will end up either picking that habit back up or have it happen more frequently (Ex, Decided that my OC Buck would knit, I ended up picking knitting back up, my OC Benny stims by shaking/flapping his hands, suddenly I started stiming like that more, my OC Cinnabon walks a certain way and I’ve noticed that I’ve started doing that strut walk thing when board.. ex)
How did you find the name for a certain character?
THANK YOU STRUNG FOR ASKING A QUESTION SPECIFIC TO BENNY MWAH 💕 For anyone unaware Benny’s my human Oc that Ive had for 7 years and i may or may not hyperfixate on his story I dunno
Okay so the name “Benny” was a one hit name that I made for a background Crime Dude character that appeared once only to die, but then I developed that character a lil more,, and then some more,, and oh no now they’re the main character. So the name itself of me making him is really bland, literally just a “huh that sounds neat :)” but I do have story for his full name!! So they go from Benjamin Ophelia Bayheart -> Benjamin Oliver Bayheart-Fuchs
Last name wise, another on the spot name, middle name is his twin brother’s name! They got it changed when his brother changed his name :] And last name “addition” is because he got married,, kinda? It was a quick one off “aw fuck we gotta get married so a & b doesn’t happen” but thats long as hell so I wont get into it (sorry if your curious). The two (Benny & Sebastian Fuchs) had planed on getting married at SOME point but it just happened quicker so its good. And Fuchs is just a common German last name and Sebastian is German :)
Do any of your OCs contain any symbolism in themselves/their story?
Oh yeah! My favorite (wof one) being my Streetwing (fantribe) oc’s and their interactions with birds! The differing birds they interact with throughout their story will represent & show their loyalty’s, in the beginning there will be a lot of interaction with Crows & Ravens (the Streetwing Tribe representative Bird) and throughout the story they start to have interactions & notice of desert birds & common forest birds to show they are branching out and growing friendship with more tribes & dragons! I know you could just equate bird interaction to just environment but shh symbolism,,,
I also have a canon tribe Oc’s that have symbolism’s within themselves & story, my prime one being my Oc Buck (the knitting guy mentioned before) who has some fluff and he used to cut & shave it short a lot but as he becomes comfortable with himself & his environment & relationships he lets it grow out :) And then his sibling have a shit ton of wack symbolism but this is getting long !!
Do you have a written story including your ocs? If so do you think you'll ever publish it?
Jokes on you Tumblr I do have one and I have published it! Just not on this site!! Okay but in seriousness I posted it a bit ago, it’s old writing now with some holes I wanna fix, its about my fantribe characters interacting with Canon Characters during the Great War and how they interacted with the Great War & how it influenced the rebuilding of their government & Civil War back in the Tribe. It’s a Whole Thing and I really love these characters but the story’s got little to no attention on Amino where I had originally posted and I dont want to clog everyone’s feed with writing they dont care about. I might make a side blog just for my Oc’s though we’ll have to see :,)
Do your friends and family know about your OCs/story? How much?
Nope no one no one knows about my OC’s nope definitely not /j
Okay so maybe Strung knows a lot about my Oc’s because I info dump on them but a lot of my friends & family dont know much about them. I will info dump on my friends occasionally, but they dont really pay much attention to it, I tend to listen to my friends infodump about their oc’s instead hehe /nm. My poor sibling has been kept up to let hours of the night hearing me ramble with no end about Benny’s story though heh. I do have a lot of places where I write down story ideas for my Oc’s publicly online though so I dunno if that counts
Are there any preexisting characters that your OC gets compared too a lot?
Surprisingly no! I mean my sibling will make dumb jokes when watching shows like “hehe is that benny?” But they dont get compared to much. Ive had story elements compared to Shakespeare, not because I write like Shakespeare just because I steal his ideas sometimes :)
Which OC has been the hardest to develop/design so far?
*angrily shakes Benny and glares at him* This. Enby. Has been so damn hard to design. I’m not the best at humans but he’s just been hard for some reason, one of my longest story driven oc’s but they’ve only existed in my head for years and only got a design in the last year, very hard to design an Oc that you have a very clear image for but also Not At All. He’s easy as hell to develop though I’m well practiced in writing Benny now
Dude!!! Lewis! My serp OC (I’ve posted about him before) is so hard for me to develop for some reason. I have plot laid out for everyone around him except for him himself, like his husband(buck) & friends all have stories and back story’s, but Lewis? nope. They’ve got a concept! And nothing else :,)
Which OC would beat you up if they met you IRL?
Peak & Chickadee would murder me unquestioned. Hotheaded Skywing Siblings they would beat me up for deciding to develop them as I have (Peak is only of my more angsty OC’s for context, eine though I’ve only shown off the art of him being happy hurghs)
On a scale from 1-10 how angsty are your OCs?
EHEH And I was just talking about Peak ! Ya! Okay so I would say like, a solid 7 because I only really have a few OC’s per story that would be deemed “angsty” but the stories themselves (without much explanation) are p angsty (example - Guy has to take down the “Mafia” after his fathers political stance in the mafia ends him in jail, 5 kids figure out they all have the same dad and different moms & intently crisis & murder issues! , Two dudes go out to observe war as a means of escaping war & political turmoil at home, We collect Evil Animus Enchanted Objects so we can become powerful (the twist is the trio collecting abandoned animus objects are all dumbasses /hj) ) So yeah I think planning wise they can seem p angsty but with development of rounded characters it seems less so? If that makes sense?? so story angsty characters kinda angsty :)
Okay this is really long shoutout to whoever it is that reads this whole post! Sorry I ended up talking about my human OC’s a good lot and not so much my dragon OC’s so hurghs :,))
