reminder that if you're not watching Crayon Shin-chan then you are living a hollow and empty life. this is not edited. this ripped straight from the movie (Movie 8: Jungle That Invites the Storm, highly recommend for fellow Masaaki Yuasa lovers)
if you need further convincing: these monkeys run an animation sweatshop

#i've made this disclaimer on another post but will again since i've seen a lot more of the movies now#the movies are VERY good and very enjoyable but unfortunately the first handful are bogged down by transphobic/homophobic/okama stereotypes#they kind of vary in their severity. Movie 5 i think is the biggest catalyst because it features the stereotyped characters the most#prominently. Movie 3 doesnt really have caricatures per se but saves a very backhanded reveal for the end#Movies 1 and 4 are a bit more tolerable if my memory is correct. Movie 2 i think is kind of comparable to Movie 5 with its caricatures#in that the characters have similar roles in both movies#i admittedly can't remember what caricatures there were in Movie 6 or 7. 7 i think barely had anything#RAMBLE RAMBLE BASICALLY: these jokes are within the first 7 movies or so 5 being the zenith then reducing down and down. by movie 8 it's sa#e#i give these disclaimers because these movies are all very enjoyable and i would not recommend them if i didnt think there wasnt any merit#o them. they are all very much worth watching. Movie 5 still has a lot of very enjoyable stuff in it (there's a showdown in a supermarket!!#but i just want to make sure that is clear and established since transparency is good to have and i dont want anyone's viewing experience t#be ruined because they weren't given the proper warning#if it's any consolation it's my understanding that even the directors hated doing the jokes#iirc Keiichi Hara really didn't like doing the jokes and i think had a talk with the mangaka Yoshito Usui and was like 'uh dude this is#gonna age horribly can we maybe not'#ironically Hara's first film is Movie 5. which is again the biggest offender#BUT! that is my spiel. my understanding is that it's contained to those 6 or 7 first movies and i think is strictly just a movie thing#so please do give these films a watch but just be mindful at the same time#if anyone needs recommendations my favorites have been movies 4 and 9 but i genuinely really enjoyed every one that i have seen#i've seen the first 11 and a half movies (need to finish 12) and movie 22. the worst i've felt about one is 'oh that was pretty good!'#each film has its own merit and is very very very much worth watching#22 was the first Shin-chan anything i watched and all my Shin-chan expert friends say 4 is a good introductory piece#in case that influences anything/makes it easier to break in#so. thus concludes my spiel#csc#vid

#one from slightly further away under the cut so you can actually see the rest of their beak. but i thought the closer one was funnier#starly#this is another one of those “default early route birds” to me. though i think this is one of my faves just because of the feather patterns#the design is pretty. if i saw a bird in real life that looked like this i would think it's pretty. and i've always liked the sounds it does#i dunno maybe it's nostalgia talking bc gen 4 was the game i played a lot as a kid despite gen 6 being my favorite gen#but i don't even remember what the early-route bird *is* for gen 6. off the top of my head. at this moment. i don't even know#i can try to list them all in order#kanto‚ pidgey; johto……… uuuuhhhh……………… fffuck i'm already having a rough time. gen 3 is taillow. i know that. gen 4 starly‚ gen 5 the uhhh#bitch that evolves into unfezant i don't remember their name. gen 6 who fucking knows‚ gen 7 who fucking knows#okay wow i just googled a list i didn't even think of half of these as early route birds. pidgey‚ spearow‚ wingull?? i dunno#taillow feels more like an early route bird to me. starly‚#PIDOVE that's their name‚ fletchling which i LOVE but i always just remember the fucking pidgey you always encounter first#pikipek whatever i didn't play gen 7 very much‚ rookidee i remembered evolves into corviknight and then i knew wattrel. bc i was like#wow it's an electric-type! i probably look like a total fake pokémon knower right now and                                          well uh#i am. not. a fake pokémon knower. i'm a pokémaster i promise this just isn't a category of pokémon i think about very often

Bumping up the smut scene bc realistically there’s no way Jace would be away from Porter for 6 months and not wanna jump his bones within a day or two of being reunited.
But jokes on him bc Porter has been so terrified to lose him again reformed that he’s like overly careful to the point of being attentive about asking Jace if he’s okay with doing anything again before they’ve even discussed the killing and rage star mind control of it all. And Jace vehemently would like to get his nut and not think about the past because they’re back by each other’s side; always a duo.

Furry (FaaF) AU species thoughts:
Pale King is a wyrm that took on a more anthropomorphic mammalian traits, but still retains his overall dragon look. So he basically looks like a fluffy drake. Still has monarch wings but they're a spell now instead of a boody part, and resemble classic dragon wings.
White Lady is a nature goddess that vaguely resembles something of a mix of a rabbit (or hare) and a deer. Still at least partly a plant though
Grimm is a mix of a jackal, bat and other various scavengers. Possibly some reptilian or dragon traits. Nightmare King Grimm is the same thing but a patchwork plush
Unn is still a slug but this time an anthropomorphic one. At least partly made of slime and has a see-through stomach filled with acid.
The Radiance is a mix of an owl and a dragon or perhaps a basilisk?
The moths in general are owls. They have just 4 limbs and use their wings like hands, but The Radiance has 6 limbs with separate wings and hands
Herrah, and by extension deepnestians, are an original species I made up for this. Imagine a cross between a star-nosed mole, wolverine, and a wolf with 8 small eyes and long whiskers who's also an obligatory carnivore, and you get her.
Hornet is just a mix of this and a dragon. Long shaggy fur and mane, big ass ears, long whiskers, possibly horns, and a star-shaped nose too
Monomon is a jellyfish with mechanical enhancements to help her live on land. Her face is a visor
Lurien is some sort of colourful birth, possibly a peacock or a parrot
I'm blanking out on the great five. I'm thinking a pig for Ogrim, maybe some sort of bovine for Hegemol?
Shade Lord is like a giant sea dragon/serpent, with plenty of fish traits, think deep sea creature. The vessels are basically a mix of this + PK and WL, so their traits are all over the place. The shades become more serpentine and fish-looking.
Flower/PV mostly has traits from PK and WL, save for their dark colouring, which they get from SL. They mostly resemble a cross between a deer and a dragon with big ears. Still carnivorous/omnivorous so they have sharp fangs. Got feet covered in scales and hooves, though sharper and almost looking like talons, especially ones on their hands.
Still unsure about Ghost, but I'm probably gonna go with more rabbit and deer look for them than dragon. And maybe they'll look more like a sea serpent after taking over the mantle of the Shade Lord.
Lummis is a capybara, his parents are beavers. Still unsure about Petunia, but they give me fox or some sort of mustelidae vibes. Possibly a hybrid also, since originally they're a mix of two different mining bee species (pantaloon × tawny mining bee)
The buggycule's children are gonna look so fucking wild, man...
Dunno about Adamas (PK's mother), might keep her fluffy because she lives in cold, harsh mountains but she'd probably have far more dragon traits than her son

Hello, do you think is possible that we will get a FITF live album? Louis and the band sound so good on tour.
they doooo! I love Steve's arrangements and additions to the songs so much! Honestly I have no idea; on the one hand it seems like Louis might be more focused on moving towards new stuff, like we are still in FITF mode but by the time it came out he had had it forever and now he's well into LT3 and probably feeling more excited about those new songs and sounds; on the other hand he is very good at working the industry stuff and all the angles and it's basically free money, right? He has said FITF was a further step towards the sound he wants most rather than the finish line, so it's possible that as happened with Walls as he works more on the new one he is getting less enthused about sharing the old stuff; but I think adding Steve's arrangements and just moving away from some of the songs seems to have lessened that this time around, so maybe that isn't a factor. Here's the thing though: the only way it would happen or make sense I think would be if it was recorded pretty recently, like one of the UK shows; the show was still being tweaked and gelled and cooking until then. But if they wanted to make vinyl (and surely they would? fancy double vinyl of live albums is SUCH a thing), that is very very long process of waiting around these days. First you have to get lacquers made (this is the physical thing that the recording is cut into that all the records are duplicates of- if you want quality it has to be more or less handmade by an artisan) but one of the two places left in the world that made those burnt to the ground in 2020 so there's a super long wait time on that. Then it just has to get made; but there are basically ten large scale factories left (again, in the WORLD) that press records so that also has a very long wait time... so it would take forever and the thing is I think we're getting LT3 in the late fall/ early winter (I bet he's using this month to finish it up so it can begin this lengthy process). So I kind of don't think so, like I guess they could do a CD/ cassette/ digital only in late spring and make so much money, and it would be fun, but who knows. Either way, I just hope Louis has Steve do some production work on LT3, I like his sounds and ideas a lot, and that he keeps him around to do his tours forever!

quitting art aside from what I want to do for myself. ai has destroyed any market, and I do not want to have to be an influencer or internet personality for attention. I sincerely just want to paint whatever I want and live my life with more regular income and less stress. Thanks for the support.

I heard this audio and. And I needed to. I needed to draw the sisters cause kdskjfs
Cause like, dang when they reunite Maggie is gonna have a completely different experience than Nova. For Nova, it's seeing her sister who she thought was dead, is now alive. Grown up. She knew her at one point.
Maggie never really knew Nova before the events of the first book. She's only ever held ideas of who her sister could have been. Even after meeting Nova, it was never in a positive light which contrasts how Nova acts around kids (Max.) her age. Yes, it was maggie's fault for her sticky fingers though she still never got to truely know Nova
Just. Things I think abt
The audio is from Laurie Anderson's "O Superman"

Recent-ish life pictures and etc.
#image commentary in tags once again since they don't allow captions anymore and I feel weird using the alt text for that --#1. bright very poofy cloud sky#2. saw these weird bugs on a sidewalk that were clustered in a pile and some of them were sitting butt to butt or something.. I wonder if#that's how they mate?? or maybe just some sortof strange bug fight or something.. interesting little creature party happening#out on the pavement on that day#3. Its kind of hard to see but on the inside of this watermelon there is a slightly lighter formation that sort of looks like a heart shape#4. special breakfast of scrambled eggs. soy sausages. and jarred artichoke heart. with some black coffee and whipped cream + a strawberry#5. ARBY.. fish ...traditional summer treat available only until like september maybe for like a month. but I love them because theyre cheap#lol.. the next closest/cheapest fried fish sort of option that is easily acessible to me is a more upscale fast food place where you can ge#three tiny little chunks of fish maybe the palm of your hand sized for about $17 lol... so 4 arby fried fish chunks for like $5 is good#6. & 7 - very cool sunset colored sort of pink/yellow/orange flower I found growing wild in someone's yard#8. got as a gift from someone who got it for christmas but didn't really want it and asked if I did since everyone knows Im like The Person#Who's Obsessed With Cats out of any group of people.. but I still havent done it lol.. it just sits there gathering dust until I have#the time on top of my 600 other projects. so wait, since i was just reminded of the recorder thing donna talked about in the giggle, i now have a question for uk ppl: do yall learn the recorder in school? like in a music class? and like how much do yall have music class over there?
#this is a very interesting topic for me as a music educator from the us#ik a guy from ireland and he said there was no music class in schools for him and like not the same country BUT same island#(as northern ireland. not the others in the uk but still)#and its so wild and fascinating music education is a fascinating field and the way we do it in the us seems to be largely vvv unique to us#for clarification on how things are different so ppl have a better idea on how to answer my question lol:#in the us music class is standard in elementary schools and most places have general music until abt 5th/6th grade (year 6/7)#(general music = basics- music games learn recorder SOME notation-reading; often classroom instruments eg boomwhackers claves maracas#orff instruments if you're lucky/from a school district that isnt poor. also some world music)#its less standardized after that and not every school will have music after middle school but concert bands and choirs are both huge here#choirs start right on the heels of general music classes (sometimes start earlier + students elect to be in choir instead of general music)#bands USUALLY start in 4th grade (year 5) but sometimes can be later 5th/6th (year 6/7) or even 7th (year 8) (WAY less common)#depends on the state generally 4th is most common i think (choirs start at around the same time i think so probs 4th but choir isnt my area#orchestras are weird bc theyre a lot less common but can commonly start younger bc of one of the big approaches to music ed (suzuki method)#so like maybe 3rd grade (year 4) maybe 4th w/ band (year 5) but i have a friend who teaches at a private school#& said they have 1st/2nd graders (year 2/3)!! orchestra is also not my area though#also marching bands: vv common! usually just in hs (starting 9th grade / year 10) bc it supports the football team at games#but starting in 8th grade (year 9) is also common (sometimes even 7th / year 8)#theres two different styles: collegiate/show band and competition. former is very rah rah pop music etc; competition is more abstract#show bands are clearly designed to entertain whereas competition is designed to be more impressive and tell a story#so more impact moments abstract shapes/lines on the field and has movements - opener ballad closer (fast-slow-fast)

It’s always one little mishap and then all of a sudden, I’m a shitty person. A fool. A careless idiot. Well, in my eyes, that’s what I am. Maybe in others’ too. I don’t know. I hope not. But it’s a cycle at this point, just some spinning wheel fueled by the desire to never fuck up anything again.
I got called stupid a lot as a kid. Someone  could ask me to find, I dunno, a cup lid in the kitchen and it’d take me way too long to figure out where it was. My sister would vaguely point, tell me to “turn off the light,” and there were about four of them, but asking would only make her angrier so I fumbled with each switch until she finally told me which one. Doesn’t sound bad, I know. And maybe it wasn’t. Maybe it was just the yelling afterward that stuck in my seven-year-old head. Maybe it was just the “too slow”s and “fucking incompetent”s that wormed their way into my brain and stamped themselves on the prefrontal cortex.
Silly mistakes, plus a kid who doesn’t know jack shit, equals an entire outburst from everyone older than I was. I still don’t understand why the math works that way. Then again, what do I understand? I don’t wanna say nothing, because that’s harsh. So let’s see what I do understand.
I understand… that little mistakes and imperfections in my behavior define who I am. I understand that people can make all the stupid slip-ups they want, and I don’t — or, well, maybe I can’t — say anything about it, but when it’s me, I should shut up and take the insults. I understand I can’t always comprehend directions and that makes me a fucking idiot. I understand there’s something wrong with me. My brain. Myself as a person.
Oh, and there’s one other thing that just popped into my head right now.
I think I understand where my crippling self-esteem comes from.
