My two little buns, how cute
Tumblr media
Sorry it doesn't have a good quality, gettin' back to my hobby it's kind of refreshing, however, I completly forgot how to size my canvas >_< anyways... For those folks who don't know these are Izumi Miyazaki and Felicia Bennett, both are my MCs from HPHL and HPHM, they're related so... yup. I wrote a few facts of them just to give a little context
Izumi is Felicia's distant relative (from her mother's side)
He used to study at Mahoutokoro school of magic but in his fifth year he decided to go on an exchange to Hogwarts
Following the previous fact, my HL lore is related to @tiny-chiro 's, both families are in good terms and him and Elizabeth are good BEST friends
Izumi was the first one in the family who got diagnosed with albinism, so he's the reason why Felicia has this same characteristic (and most part of the family)
Both Felicia and Izumi have something with butterflies, at least they feel secure when they are around those insects
Aaaaaand that's all for today, see ya! <3

"The Surgical Room" (Kyoka Izumi) book review
youtube
Speaking of "Azumi Inoue", she is famous for singing several theme songs for Hayao Miyazaki's animated films, and she sang "Sakura, Dance" in NHK Minna no Uta. It's a sad love song about someone who can't forget a chance encounter and will carry that feeling with her for the rest of her life...
♪ It's sad because I was young
A burning face deep in my eyes
The short story "The Surgery Room" is very similar to the situation in this song. It is the work of Kyoka Izumi. It's a love story that can be described as horrific. The main character is afflicted with an intractable disease and is brought to the hospital in such a state that she will not survive unless she undergoes a surgical operation. She is "Countess Kibune" and her surgeon is Takamine Medical Doctor. However, during this period, there were people who could never marry, even if they were medical students, and those were the people of the upper class.
She refuses an anesthetic procedure. If she was anesthetized, she was afraid to say the wrong thing. It was because she loved Takamine. She wishes to die in Takamine's arms and plunges deep into her body as if inviting Takamine's hand to operate on her.
"In the first place, these two have only met once in the past." At first glance, even though they only passed each other on the road, they left a deep impression on each other. Mrs.Kibune asks, "You don't remember me, do you?" Takamine replies,” Never forget.” She hears it, and in a sense ``joyful'' and ``obediently'' she follows the path of her death. This tragic pure love even though they saw each other's faces only once. And Takamine commits suicide on the same day, just like going after the deceased “wife”.
Rei Morishita

As we near the 31st, I figured it was time for my annual tea retrospective. I spent 2021 with Chinese tea, and this past year was a year with Japanese tea.
2023 will be for Indian tea, which I am looking forward to exploring in depth.
Here are some things that I have learned this year:
Overall, I have a personal preference for the complexity of Chinese teas to the simplicity of Japanese tea, but I have had some pretty knockout teas this year.
I’ve learned to be gentle with my pour when it comes to steamed teas, which took me about a month to figure out why everything was coming out so bitter.
I’ve finally learned to distinguish umami in tea.
I feel like I am getting the very slightest sense of terroir. In general, I think my unrefined sense of taste and smell has come a long way since the beginning of 2021, but there’s a longer way to go yet.
I really just don’t enjoy cold brewed tea.
I have to be on probiotics when I’m drinking green tea every day LOL
The Aoi Seicha matcha was the first time I was able to sense the qi of a tea, which was very exciting
Some notes on just a few of my favorite teas this year (bolded above). I would put these three on a list of all-time favorite teas and would be more than happy to drink them on a regular basis.
Miyazaki Sabo Floral Hojicha: This is hands down the sweetest tasting tea I’ve ever had. It was made from stems harvested at a lower point on the tree from where the plant would typically have been cut, so there was a heavy concentration of the floral oils, and the roasting gave it a sort of caramelized flavor, like, literally this tea was so delicious.
Kajihara Tea Garden Izumi First Flush Black Tea: I think this solidified for me that I do really love lighter, fruitier black teas. There was a quality to this one though that I’d never tasted before and I don’t know how to describe, but I immediately regretted not buying more of it when I had the chance.
Matsumoto Cha-en Fig Wood Smoked Black Tea: This producer has a line of smoked teas using different woods, many of which were reclaimed from local whiskey barrels. I’d love to try more of them someday, and I’d definitely recommend this as an entry point to smoked teas, as it’s smoked for only a fraction of the time as traditional Lapsang Souchong and is much lighter as a result. It was a very smooth and forgiving tea, and the flavor lasted well over five steepings, the most of any tea I drank this year.
Some resources that I found useful:
GJ Tea, in particular their meet-the-farmer online events are a boon
Sono Organic Tea’s email newsletter is always informational
Yunomi life was my favorite vendor to order from
That’s about all I’ve got for now. I’ve enjoyed this year, and I am ready to take a break from green tea lololol. I think that next year I may move through Indian tea region by region, rather than category by category.

WHATEVER
Tumblr media
It's Ayumi Hamasaki's birthday on October 2 and we're extending the celebration in true ego-maniacal, splashy celebrity fashion, by drawing out the festivities for an entire week! Each day I will briefly discuss a totally random item chosen (not by me) from my Ayu collection. Prepare for praise, disappointment, and controversial opinions backed by love and respect as we take a casual look back in this blurry snapshot of her career. Happy Birthday to our Party Queen, Ayumi Hamasaki!
Nothing encapsulates the sound of Avex dance-pop and the music of Ayumi Hamasaki at the turn of the millennium better than her single “WHATEVER.” Released in February of 1999, it was the first since her debut album, A Song for XX, dropped on the first day of the year. While her first album only hinted at a more upbeat, techno-based sound with singles like "Depend on you," "WHATEVER" made it clear that Avex would continue staking its claim on their reputation as a club-friendly label by drawing upon all of its dance and DJ-based resources for their new star, starting with putting Izumi "D・M・X" Miyazaki in charge of arrangement on the primary mix.
This would be the first time Kazuhito Kikuchi would write a song for Ayu, though it would not be the last (he would also contribute songs like "immature" to LOVEppears, as well as "SURREAL" from Duty, and "HEAVEN" from (miss) understood). A prolific composer with Avex Trax, Kikuchi was present at the label's peak years, working on tracks for Kumi Koda, Every Little Thing, and Ami Suzuki. For "WHATEVER," the label released two versions of the song: one that incorporated a more house-based structure ("version M") and a slightly shorter one with a more pop-based structure ("version J," arranged by Keisuke Kikuchi) that resembled something a bit closer to the idol-pop of tracks on A Song for XX. As if testing out the waters, the songs were submitted for the consideration of fans, who made Miyazaki's "M" version the one that has gone on to become the definitive version. Indeed, the many subsequent remixes of the song, including the most famous one by Ferry Corsten, a hypnotic trance rendition first featured on the appears single, emphasized the song's club roots, as well as smoothing the path toward the eventual deluge of remixes that would appear on maxi-singles and countless remix albums.
"WHATEVER" set the stage for all of that, but retains its reputation as a fan favorite for more than just being a herald: it was also a really great song, with several hooks scattered throughout its synth-based production, all constructed around a relentlessly precise drum machine. It's popularity continued to propel Ayu to the top of the charts (this one hit #5) and cement her status at the top of the J-pop food chain. It would later be featured on the phenomenally popular LOVEppears album released at the end of the year as "Dub's 1999 Remix,” a sort of updated version that bears a striking auditory resemblance to the original "version M."
This single has been remixed countless times throughout Ayu's career. The single was also re-released two years later when Avex re-issued all of Ayu's 3" singles in regular maxi-single format. It featured all of the original content of the single, including the instrumental versions of the two versions of "WHATEVER," with the addition of three remixes. Like all of Ayu's singles from this time period, it's pretty perfect and hard to critique: not only is it a fun song, but its sound also has an added nostalgic kick for its classic production techniques and callback to Avex’s and Ayu’s hi-NRG, nights-at-Velfarre origin stories. It’s also an anomaly: we saw pretty quickly that this was not going to be the direction that Ayu wanted to go in, even if we did get concessions now and then (”connected”).

Izumi Miyazaki | Hogwarts Legacy | Japan
─── ⊹⊱✿⊰⊹ ───
Distant ancestor of Felicia Bennett on her mother's side, Akiko Bennett née Miyazaki. An extraordinary wizard from a family that ran a temple deep in the Aokigahara forest, specializing in Yokai and ghosts from Japanese mythology. The family had high beliefs about life after death, so every time someone came to the forest to take their life, they were in charge of guiding their spirit to rest in peace.
Izumi was so devoted to his family's profession that he could be seen with some butterflies around him; According to myths from his grandparents, they had the belief that when a person died, they were reincarnated as a butterfly to take care of those close to them in the earthly world.

日本攝影師宮崎いず美官網: Izumi Miyazaki

Maisie Cousins is a female photographer who focuses on creating art using the combination of the human form and food to represent female sexuality and the sexualisation of women. Her photos are often saturated with bright colours and organic shapes that imitate the female form. In reflection, I want my own art to include similar aesthetic choices, like the over-saturated colours - giving works a hyper-feminine quality.

Monika Mogi is a self-taught Japanese photographer who works with contemporary feminist themes, as well as photographs set up with saturated lighting to emphasise the subject. As well as this I find the photo above especially interesting, creating a discourse between the feminine and discomfort - by spitting in a cup of tea. It this same level of discomfort that would be interesting to explore in my own works, especially in photography.

Izumi Miyazaki is a Japanese Photographer who works with themes of Japanese ghosts and folk tales, contributing to a gore factor in each of her photos. Following pieces of surrealism, Miyazaki edits her photos to appear as unsettling self-portraits. What really interests me are the gory elements of her work and her manipulation of the human body. Surrealist imagery and the blurring of reality and fiction is something that I'd enjoy looking deeper into.

"Oh, good afternoon, Igarashi-san. Come to pick up your usual delivery?"
Tumblr media
"Indeed, Miyazaki-kun. It's getting warmer out, so I'd definitely like to get some more ingredients for salad, and I've been needing more materials for some various potions as well."
Tumblr media
"Not a problem, I'll go and get it for you. Just leave the pay on the counter."
Izumi waited while Shuya walked into the back of their store, before coming back out with a neatly packed box. They placed the box on the counter, taking the money that Izumi left.
Tumblr media
"Much appreciated, Miyazaki-kun, give Kimi and Yumi my regards, hm?"
