Have you spotted the new art cards in subway cars? Award-winning illustrator James Yang’s “Catching Lines” was inspired by the bright colors of the NYC Subway and his experience hearing residents give directions to tourists. He pictured trains using nets to catch the round icons that are universally recognized by New Yorkers and tourists alike.

“The main idea for the poster was turning subway travel into fantasy or slightly Jetson-inspired version of the experience. Since I am a color guy, playing with subway lines as floating balloons was the main idea as trains fly with nets to catch the lines,” Yang said.
