Favorite Captain from anything Star Trek?
This is HARD!! Because I’m really a TOS girl - it’s what I watched as a kid. I really struggled to get into the other Star Trek series.
That said, I think all the captains have awesomeness.
TOS Kirk was brilliant, and made it look effortless.Picard was a renaissance man - was there anything he couldn’t do? (I quite enjoyed what I’ve seen of this so far)Janeway shares my love of coffee, and also as a woman captain proves we are capable of ANYTHING. (I’ve seen bits and pieces and enjoyed it)Sisko ... I really know nothing about, but have been assured he is a master tactician (Never saw a single episode of this show)Archer is the reason the Prime Directive exists right? Also, Scott Bakula is dreamy. (I also never saw a single episode of Enterprise)AOS Kirk is a different kind of brilliant than his TOS counterpart, and makes it look equally effortless.
One of the things that I think is true about the captains I’m familiar with (so I assume it is so about the others as well) - they are as strong as their crews. Starfleet is made up of exceptional individuals.

Star Trek Voyager, 3x26 - Basics, part 1
Captain Kathryn Janeway as a Brilliant Tactician, part 1, 2, 3 (version 1) (version 2)
This battle is often overlooked but I think this is also an amazing showcase for Janeway and the Voyager crew.
Voyager was up against 4 large Kazon (formerly Trabé ships). Significantly larger than Voyager many times over. Janeway's other talent is bringing together all the suggestions her crew threw together and executing it.
In this instance, using deflector and holo-technology to create ships to draw fire from Voyager.
Plus Janeway's job is to time their attacks precisely. One of the first example of Janeway having nerves of steel. She had to be patient and not let the distance or number of her enemies spooke her.
Voyager was winning the battle against the big Kazon-Nistrim ships-- until the moment their Kazon prisoner blew himself up, sabotaging Voyager.
(Honestly, I wish they repeated this tactic in other battles because it worked really well).
This is just a taste of the war leader Janeway becomes.

Captain Kathryn Janeway as a Brilliant Tactician, part 1, 2, 3 (version 1) (version 2)
Star Trek Voyager, 7x10 -Flesh and Blood II (version 1)
Hirogen ships wildly outclassed Voyager and the first time Voyager seriously went up against the Hirogen, the crew lost control of the ship and they were forced to participate in various Hirogen hunting games.
The crew barely took back Voyager and Janeway had to give Hirogen the Hologram tech to get them off her ship.
And then in season 7, after the EMH Doctor betrayed Voyager and thoroughly sabotaged the ship. The Engine room was a mess and the only reason Voyager didn't explode is because B'Elanna reinforced the Warp core. And then the holograms kidnap B'Elanna.
Voyager, battered and limping was on a mission to retrieve their two lost crew members. So Janeway decided to use the Hirogen's hunting skill for their benefit and had the best tactic to deal with the Hirogen while Voyager was in no condition for a firefight.
And despite limping all the way while tailing the Hirogen ships, in the end Voyager fought against two Hirogen ships and won.
