What could’ve been a cute cheesy romcom became a hot mess romcom at the end. One word of advice, do not watch this drama before eating or if you’re trying to diet, cause oof this show makes you want to eat. The storyline at first is your typical cheese fest bordering on a toothache filled of cliches. It’s weirdly unique where they break out in songs sometimes, why? who knows but it’s funny. There’s multiple couples in this, main leads, then another couple which were pretty cute. When it comes to the mid to last way mark is where it all falls apart with the mains storyline. (Some mild spoilers) I guess the writers decided the wanted more angst and thought it would be fun to set the main female lead up in a fun love triangle with both brothers. It just gets weird, the writing felt off the way they wrote it, I don’t know, most of it i fast forward through then. It’s not he worst but wish it had a better last half since both main leads Shin Dong Wook and YuRi had excellent chemistry together. The other couple Lee Yeol Eum and Lee Min Hyuk were great together too.

October Overview

Completed:

A-Teen: This is actually a web-drama, but to not leave this column empty I’ll put it here. Despite being a web-drama, it’s already better than most dramas that came out in 2018. I love each and every character, they all have their own story and it’s really cute how they all come together as friends. I would recommend everyone to watch this, it’s super easy to binge! Sweet, but will make you cry (at least for me). Also everyone can at least relate to one character!

Ongoing:

My Only One: Oh Uee, the dramas I watch for you. Although I have to admit, this is not that bad of a daily drama compared to what I watched before (cough Man Who Sets the Table sorry Sooyoung). I can’t wait to see Do Ran and her father get together as a family just so she can flex on her step-mother LOL. I don’t mind the step-sister, I just wish she would speak out against her mother because she knows that her mother is wrong! Da Ya, another character I’m extremely frustrated with. If you know you know. I can rant about most of the characters in this drama, but I’ll just state right now that the only ones I like are Do Ran, the grandma, the father, the grandma’s son, Da Ya’s brother, and the maids. Dae Ryook and his mother on and off for me. 

The Third Charm: So you know how I was in love with Joon Young last month, but this month was kind of annoying. Did they really have to add the love triangle? The jealousy and the insecurities -- although are realistic, I would have preferred if they toned down the amount of time spent focused on Ho Chul. Other than that Young Jae and Joon Young definitely have problems they need to sort out so maybe it wasn’t that bad for Ho Chul to come in the middle of it. I just really hate love triangles.

The Smile Has Left Your Eyes: I love the story so much, but just that one part is just ruining everything for me. I haven’t watched the Japanese version and was only spoiled about two things in the ending, but for the most part I’m watching this without knowing what will happen. I feel bad for Jin Kang’s friend though. She never deserved anything to happen to her, she just was with the wrong people ): 

Room No. 9: We’re already half way through the show and Hae Yi and Hwa Sa still haven’t teamed up to defeat Ki San/Chu Young Bae boooo. Other than that, it’s an amazing thrilling drama can’t wait till everything gets revealed in the end. 

Dae Jang-Geum Is Watching: Yuri <333 She’s doing such a good job. Not many people like her character, but I think her character is okay. She’s just trying to adjust to her new job. I think who truly stole the show though was the sister. Also love the food parts, this is way better than Wok of Love. 

Dropped:

Miss Ma: I felt that because I’m already watching Room No. 9 I didn’t want to watch this one. I remember watching Mistress and Secret Mother at the same time and kept overlapping their stories. 

The Ghost Detective: I wanted to continue it, but it got hard for me to wait weekly for the next episode that I lost interest. 

The Beauty Inside: I didn’t understand how this drama would work in the first place, and I’m not that curious.

Matrimonial Chaos: Again, not interesting enough for me to pick up.

Fox Bride Star: ^^

Bad Papa: Looked very angsty and I’m already watching My Only One and Room No. 9. 

When Time Stops: I was going to watch this, but then I saw the cast and idk I can’t support the male lead. I’m just gonna leave at that. They should have known better than to cast him, then maybe they wouldn’t have a 0.6 viewership rating.

Upcoming:

Empress’s Dignitiy: This actually sounds kind of interesting. It’s set in modern day, but they still have a monarchy. I might check out the first episode. 

Encounter: Bad summary, but it’s Song Hye Ko and Park Bo Gum. 

Red Moon Blue Sun: Summary is also kind of lacking, but I think I’ll check this one out too. 

Happy If You Died: Not a fan of office dramas.

Mama Fairy and the Godmother: Not interesting enough for me. 

Quiz From God: Reboot: Probably won’t watch this as I haven’t watch the other seasons.

Top Star Yoo Baek: The teasers look entertaining! I’m all for strong woman!

SKY Castle: Kind of reminds me of Secret Mother and Mistress with the four leading woman. I feel like I’ve watched enough of these dramas too, so probably won’t check out. 

Priest: I’m not religious enough for this lol. 

Bad Detective: Probably won’t watch.

Clean With Passion For Now: Probably won’t watch tbh, if you need a cleaning drama just watch Your House Helper.

We may seeing Girls’ Generation’s Yuri in her first historical drama soon!  On August 26, it was reported that Yuri would be appearing in the upcoming drama “Bossam – Stealing Fate” (literal title). In response, a source from SM Entertainment stated, “It’s true that Yuri has received an offer to appear in the drama and she is currently positively looking over the offer.”  “Bossam – Stealing Fate” will tell the story of a person who accidentally kidnaps a princess. Jung Il Woo was also confirmed to be in talks to play a leading role in the drama. Screenwriters Kim Ji Soo and Park Cheol will be writing the script, and PD (producing director) Kwon Seok Jang, who has worked on “Golden Time” and “Miss Korea,” will lead the production, with the drama set to air in the first half of 221.
