(prev) "Awesome!" He grinned, not picking up on Thomas' awkwardness. "I can't wait to meet them if they decide on going!" "..Heh..I just hope the members we recruit aren't like, faking their kindness or something." He chuckled a bit before he deflated once more. "..J-just like that one guy I befriended.."
“Well don’t worry,” Thomas reassured, “the point of the club is that we’ll have each other’s backs. If we find out someone like that tried to join in, we’ll just swiftly kick them out!”
He chuckled a little bit before pausing. “…A-are you or your friends any good at kicking people out? Even if I was, I couldn’t,” Thomas said as he looked at his ghost hands.

(Previous) When Cathy asked about Larry, Norman turned on his phone to check if Larry responded. "No response," He sighed. "I'll still check to see if he at least read my mess--" Right before Norman could finish sentence, the door slid open from behind to reveal a badly shaken up Larry. Norman, taken aback by his sudden appearance, turned over to Cathy and quietly remarked: "Huh. Now would ya look at that.." Before he began walking towards him. "Hey Larry! Great timing." Norman warmly smiled as he pulled him into a big hug. Larry, however, just stood there... Not returning his partners embrace until he noticed Cathy standing right in front of him. In that moment, the reality of the situation he was now dealing with hit him like a truck and he couldn't help but burst into tears almost immediately as he clutched onto Norman without saying a single word. Norman half-expected this to happen, but since he already knew how close Larry and Freddy were, it still ultimately made his heart ache for the guy as he soaked his uniform with his tears. "Shhh..It's okay," Norman murmured. "I'm right here."
Cathy nervously smiled when she saw Larry enter. Then she awkwardly shifted at the sound of his crying. She wasn’t good at comforting.
Fortunately Norman was there for him. She gave the pair a relieved smile before rushing to her own partner, slowing herself only to avoid spilling his soup.
Meanwhile Freddy was struggling to keep his mind off of both the pain and leftover fear from the ordeal. There wasn’t a better way to pass the time than getting to know his cotmates, even if his social energy was somewhat drained. So when Cathy dashed in he was in the middle of hearing about how the girl to his left broke her leg in a “totally kickass” explosion.
“I’m back!” Cathy cheerfully said as she shimmied her way between the cots. Then she handed his soup and spoon over while asking, “Still hungry?”
“Sorry, my wife’s here.” Freddy gave his temporary neighbor an apologetic wave. “I’ll hear the rest later!”
Cathy cut in with, “I wanna hear it too!” Then she looked back at the door. “Oh yeah, Norman and Larry came too.”
When Freddy spotted them he gave them an exaggerated smile and energetic wave to show that he was okay, despite not feeling the best. “Hey guys!”

(Previous) The day after Thomas had spoken with Teddy, going back to Mati was all he could think about. He was beyond excited about the prospect of being safe and away from the Glornists, about having an entire planet to roam rather than the Skullship, about attending all of the free concerts he wanted. He was also looking forward to curating the playlist for the ride, a task that Teddy said he’d help with given Thomas’ ghost incapacities. As Teddy had suggested the night before, they were to meet up in the food court. So Thomas spent the entire day there. He managed to find him at breakfast, but didn’t want to bug him so early in the morning when he was preparing for work. He also found him at lunch but again did nothing but briefly observe, knowing how precious and fleeting a thirty minute lunch break could be in the face of a work day. He didn’t want to interrupt that. Finally, come dinnertime, it took Thomas no time at all to find Teddy by the time he got his food and sat down. He couldn’t help but lurk at the table and pretend he was part of the group. Part of him felt creepy and bad for listening in, but it was nice to just let friendly chatter wash over him. Besides, it was an entertaining group of people, Freddy especially. Thomas even silently laughed at half of Teddy’s remarks. He was also surprised to see his newest friend Larry there. Who knew he knew the Walters brothers! Thomas really wanted to chat with him, feeling bad that they discussed forming a Nice Club only to be leaving the Skullship. But he was happy to see Larry was already surrounded by so many friends. Thomas resolved to try and get in touch with him before he left to say goodbye. He thought about how he wasn't going to leave until he got a chance to bid farewell to Cyrus too. When dinner was winding down and folks were finishing their meals, Thomas knew he had to get Teddy’s attention to let him know he was there. Of course, he didn’t want to alarm anyone nearby with a disembodied voice or his ghostly apparition, so he thought about what to do until he remembered that watchdogs seemed to either shiver or remark about feeling cold whenever he accidentally passed through them when he roamed around the Skullship. So Thomas waved his hand through Teddy’s shoulder, curious if it would accomplish anything.
Teddy shivered at the sudden chill shooting down his shoulder. After a moment he glanced back and let out a relieved sigh. Then he tapped his brother’s arm to get his attention.
“Can I see your new place?”
“Sure!” Freddy instantly replied while giving Teddy a big wide smile. Then he stood up and addressed the rest of the table. “Are we still on for laser tag tonight?”
Anyone that was interested responded affirmatively. Cathy, the big tall watchdog sitting on Freddy’s other side, leered at Teddy as she said,
“I hope nobody wimps out this time.”
Teddy immediately pushed himself off the table and gave her an icy glare. “For the last time, refusing to play with someone who won’t follow the rules isn’t wimping out.” The last phrase was accompanied by air quotes.
“Pssh,” Cathy crossed her arms and leaned back while rolling her eye. “That wasn’t cheating.”
“For the last time: We do not tackle people in laser tag.” Teddy slowly overenunciated his words as if he was patiently explaining himself to a small child.
“It’s a combat simulation.” Cathy mirrored his tone. “People get jumped in combat.”
Teddy narrowed his eye. “A combat simulation designed to improve your terrible aim.”
“Like you’re one to ta-”
Freddy firmly clapped his hands on both of their shoulders while giving them both the motherly grin of restrained rage. “Let’s just put you on the same team tonight, alright?”
Neither had any more to say. He gave them both a comforting pat on the back before returning to his usual demeanor. “Well, I’ll see you all later!” With that he waved them all off and led his brother out by the hand.
After all that went down Freddy had a hunch that part of why Teddy asked to see his new room was to speak to him in private. So he waited until they were out of earshot from anyone else before speaking again.
“I’ll talk to her before the game.”
“Thanks. And can you tell her that was a low blow?” He tapped his glass frame while saying, “My aim’s been a lot better lately.”
“Will do!” Freddy gave him an enthusiastic thumbs up.
From there their conversation transitioned to Teddy trying to convince his identical twin to get a glass or, at the very least, have his vision checked. His introduction to prescription eye shields happened to come after they were deep in the vents to not have to worry about being overheard.
“Speaking of... how’s your eye?”
“Bad. Anyways-”
Freddy wouldn’t let him immediately change the subject. “Has it gotten better?”
Teddy let out an exasperated sigh before removing his eye shield.
Freddy let out a sigh of his own— a relieved one— before awkwardly rubbing his head. “I wish I could’ve done it...”
“I needed to.”
“Yeah... Y’know, I was really worried about you...” He didn’t say that he was scared that his CLNLD would get him killed. But they both knew what he meant.
“I can take care of myself.”
“Yep!” Freddy’s tone brightened. “And I’m proud of you for going through with it!”
Teddy had mixed feelings about his praise. It was a big accomplishment for him. He was proud of himself too.
Yet no matter how much he despised Sam treating his first murder as a joyous event felt... strange. It was disgusting. It was, frankly, traumatic. And he knew that Freddy was trying to put a positive spin on it to cheer him up but...
“Have you ever met a ghost?”
The abrupt topic change almost gave Freddy whiplash. This time he was more than willing to go along with it. “Nope! Still looking! Why?”
“Would you like to?”
Freddy squinted as he tried to determine if Teddy was serious but even he couldn’t tell from voice alone. Without enough room to turn around to face him he was forced to just trust that he was.
“Well, yeah! What’s with the sudden interest?”
Teddy looked around for any sign of a ghostly presence. “Are you there, Thomas?”

(Previous) Norman was the first to hear and see Freddy happily wave at the two as he continued to comfort his partner. And it wasn't long until Larry noticed too after Norman tapped on his shoulder and motioned his head up towards the watchdog on one of the cots. Seeing his closest friend seemingly just fine from a distance was a massive relief for Larry. When he received the message Norman sent to him a few minutes ago, he immediately assumed the worst happened and rushed to the medbay as fast as he could without reading any further than "meet me at the medbay". ..And, well, it wasn't like seeing an injured Freddy on a cot was the best outcome, but he was never this extremely thankful about being so darn wrong, as he could never imagine a world where he was right about his first initial thoughts upon receiving Norman's message. Once Larry had noticeably calmed down a bit, Norman slowly let himself go from their embrace and extended his hand out to the tall janitor. "Feel free to hold onto my hand if ya need to." To which Larry silently obliged, as he was still quite stressed out about this whole situation. After a quick and loving peck on the cheek from Norman, the two began making their way over to Freddy's cot, where both him and Cathy waited for them. "Sorry we took a bit," Norman chuckled a little before he turned to Freddy with a small, relieved smile. "But we're so glad to see that you're okay." Larry nodded along, his eye still visibly wet as he added, "I..I could've sworn I wouldn't be able to see you again.."
Freddy brightly grinned at Larry. “Good thing you didn’t see the state I was in earlier!”
“Yeah!” Cathy whistled. “You were a mess!”
Freddy picked up on their unease and shifted topics. “Anyways, I’ll be fine after staying in here for awhile. Just lost a kidney. But I never needed it anyways.” He awkwardly chuckled before speaking again.
“So how have you two been? Anything interesting happen?”

Norman was worried.
A few days had gone by, and neither him or Larry had seen Freddy. Usually, this wasn't something the two would be too worried about since, after all, they knew they weren't bound to see or talk to him every single day.
However.. these past few days were different. Not only was Freddy nowhere to be seen, but neither was Cathy or Teddy, two of the people closest to him on the ship. And it was getting increasingly hard to ignore.
To the point where Larry in particular began fearing the absolute worst..
And so, after reassuring his now panicked boyfriend the day before while still being somewhat worried himself (but still remaining hopeful regardless), Norman got up bright and early from the sleeping quarters and spent the rest of the morning thoroughly scanning through every single area in the skullship, hoping to bump into any of the three or all three at once.
However, it wouldn't be long until he had to put his search on hold because he had an upcoming shift in the food court.
As he now stood there behind the register amidst a growing sea of hungry watchdogs, with neither Freddy, his wife, and/or his brother having been spotted, Norman was beginning to feel more and more hopeless in finding any sign that they were around, even though it was, admittedly, too early to come to that conclusion.
.. But deep down, maybe something did happen after all... He didn't know what in particular, but he knew for certain it was bad if he couldn't find either of the three anywhere. Well, at least in the places he checked, anyway.
And so, once he was on his break over an hour later, Norman sighed as he leaned against the nearest wall that was out of sight of any customer behind his counter, pulled out his phone and began texting to Larry about his unsuccessful search thus far with a frown on his face.

(prev) "Awh man..That sucks." Larry's eyelid drooped as he reached to pat Thomas' back, only to remember after his hand phased through it that he was a ghost, to which he awkwardly put his hand away. "Y-you seem way too nice to be treated like that.."
Thomas barely reacted to yet another comforting hand phasing right through him. Though he at least appreciated the thought.
“That’s exactly it… I am way too nice, so I’m treated like that…” He sighed. “And any attempts to toughen up failed miserably…”
He sheepishly glanced at Larry. “Y-you’re really nice though… Do people treat you alright?”

(Previous) Larry nodded. "Oh, A-alright!" Right as he began moving the cart a little towards the hallway it was facing, Larry stopped and turned over to Teddy, nearly forgetting he was coming with him. ".. Uhm, can you show me where that is, exactly?"
Teddy tilted his head in confusion. Didn’t he just point out exactly where it was?
After a moment he realized Larry was probably asking for him to show him the way and nodded. He put his hand on his chin as he traced several potential paths with his finger while muttering,
“We should ask Bert to add that function...”
It took a bit— mainly because Teddy wasn’t used to avoiding vents and stairs— but he managed to figure out a route. Once he did he straightened up and headed towards the nearest elevator.
“Follow me.”

(Previous) Larry hesitantly smiled back at Freddy, trying his best to remain positive, but deep down: he was still extremely worried about him. And he very much did not appreciate the tone of both Freddy and Cathy's voice when they mentioned his previous and much worse condition. "Yeesh.." Norman cringed slightly after Freddy brought up his injury. Though, if he insisted he didn't need his kidney, then he shouldn't be too worried. After all, he knew Freddy was quite resilient. So surely losing a kidney wouldn't be too much of a hindrance for him.. "Thank grop you only lost a kidney," He then added. "I couldn't imagine seeing you in a much horrible state than the one you're in right now." When Freddy shifted to talking about how Norman and Larry were doing, Norman spoke up first: "Ehh, not really," He shrugged as he shoved his unoccupied hand into his pocket. "Aside from us worrying about you guys, these past few days have been mostly uneventful, haha." Larry chuckled a little alongside Norman, but it was getting more obvious that he was uncomfortable by the way he tightened his grip on his partner's hand.
Cathy didn’t get why Larry and Norman got so worked up just because they didn’t see them for a few days. They’re adults. Things happen. And as far as they knew they could’ve randomly decided to go get takeout for a few days. Why bother letting everyone know?
Freddy, on the other hand, was better at both reading and understanding people. His smile faded as they contradicted his belief that they’d be better off not knowing what happened to him until they knew that he would make it through.
After a long moment of dead silence he slumped and let out a heavy sigh. Then he turned to his wife, who looked like she was about to put her foot in her mouth. “Could you please check on Teddy?”
Cathy was smart enough to know that he was trying to shoo her away. Fortunately, she had been waiting for a chance to leave. “Like, sure, I’ll send another pic of him in the same spot I left him.” She lightheartedly rolled her eye as she made her way out from next to the bed. Then she gave him one last wave before heading out.
Once Cathy was gone Freddy looked to Norman, then Larry. “Please don't blame Teddy and Cathy,” he said with another sigh. “I..,” He rubbed his head while finding his words. “...well, they were wrecks when I woke up...”
Then he nervously shrugged while fidgeting with his blanket. “And they knew that I’d rather not have all my friends crowding around to see if I’d make it through...”

(prev) "See ya, Moe!" He waved back at him. After Moe was out of sight, Larry was just about done putting his stuff back in his cart, including the container containing Norman's cupcake. Before he could be on his merry way, though, he turned to Bert, fidgeting with his hands. "This might sound a bit silly to you, b-but we really should hang out some more.. T-talking to you and Moe is so much fun when we aren't so busy with other things."
Bert shook his head. “Not silly at all. In fact I was thinking the same thing. There are so many things we ought to do, after all! Like me showing you Big Antonio, or showing you my old Pokey Monster cards.”
He then smiled. “And I’m glad you and Moe got along. Of course, though she can be quiet, she is pretty easygoing. And if you get her talking about spacecrafts and vehicles, she won’t stop. But anyway, we will find the time to hang out again.”
