Familiar Test (1)

The day started out normally enough I kicked my little brothers out of the house on the way to school after making sure that they had eaten more Of their breakfast then they had decorated the kitchen with all I have to do now is remember that cleaning spell mum used to use.

I always preferred to clean the kitchen area before leaving the kitchen as my dad works nights at the Council offices and I don’t want him worrying about us.

As you probably guessed from me cleaning up with out lifting a finger I’m a mage like my Family before me. Don’t get me wrong it’s great having these abilities but since my powers started to come into fulfilment I got pulled out of normal school and now I spend my days Learning from the ancient tomes it great don’t get me wrong but I do miss all my friends that’s why I’m excited for today it’s my first test on controlling mystical creatures and if I pass I will be granted a Familiar

Which is a magical assistant/ friend.

Today’s the day I’m hoping for a Adarna like mum has as it is intelligent and has a talent for healing and as a bird familiar they won’t stand out to much I think I had a distant cousin who got a Dragon and was unable to take them anywhere

I’m shaken from my daydream by the crash from the front door as Jason my examiner materialised on top of the umbrella stand for the fifth time this month on his shoulder was Alexander his black cat Familiar as he stood up he was already heading for the library One thing about Jason he never stood on formality he arrived and expected you to be ready for your test

As he entered the library he began

“Today you will prove to me that you can control a summoned creature if you can that creature will be bonded to you”

With that announcement he raised his right hand and pointed it at the centre of the library with the flash rising steam a small creature appeared shrouded in the mist.....

I hurried into the library As not to be thought of as late or not paying attention but I entered my eyes locked on the small creature solidifying from the ether in front of me.

Jasons eyes were locked in on the spot as he summoned a portion of the ether into our plane of existence his concentration was overpowering the crackle of energy from his hands was astounding this was a master of the Mage arts he was not summoning a Mystical creature he had bonded to but was pulling a occupied portion of the ether into our reality And confining it to a small location.

Another lad to get the L O R E treatment, Jason Adarna! He is a wandering mage and healer.

Not much is known about his past, but he started his journey as a student of the mythical last dragoness, Kyra. Under her, he honed his healing abilities to perfection, and can heal most physical injuries. What he lacks in magical ability to heal the sick and feeble, he makes up for in knowledge about other methods of caring for ailments. He is infectiously jovial and a social chameleon, able to charm most people with his optimism and carefree facade. However, he is much more analytical and calculating than he lets on, with a talent for manipulation that he is well aware. He travels with his pet mimic Mint, which takes the form of a scarf.

This piece shows Kyra and Jason meeting for the first time. What would initially be a tense first encounter would come to be a defining moment in the history of the world, though neither of them knew that at first.

I just like to imagine how bewildered Kyra must be to find a human at her doorstep, considering her home is on top of a mountain, in the center of an eternal blizzard, surrounded by massive walls of steel and ice. How tenacious to brave all that, amirite?
