Oh, summer child
You don't have to act like all you feel is mild
You don't really love the Sun, it drives you wild
You're lyin', summer child

Hello!! Could you please tell me how to overlay a gif to another gif? like that one that you did for @jatpsource with the rotating animations (/post/643386989347995648/jatpsources-3k-celebration-the-abcs-of-jatp). I don't need the rotating animation, I just want to know how to overlay a gif to another gif. Tysm in advance <3
hey friend! sure thing, it's quite easy so i hope my explanation makes sense lol
first you have to have both gifs you want to overlay, the documents are like this in photoshop rn
if you work already on timeline, then skip this part, but if you don't and work in frames please convert your gifs to smart objects! otherwise it'll be kinda difficult to do this :]
okay now that you have both smart objects you drag the little gif smart object to the document of the big gif, your layers panel should be looking like this
after that you resize it like you want, if you're leaving it as square just hit ctrl+T and resize it. if you want it a circle, while having the layer selected draw a circle with the eliptical marquee tool over you layer and then hit the layer mask button!
if you want other shapes, you use the clipping mask tool! let's say i want my little gif to be inside a weird shape that photoshop doesn't have, like this transparent paint thingy i got from google
you drag that shape to your big gif too and put your small gif ABOVE the shape and then hit right click -> create clipping mask and your small gif will automatically take the form of the shape, look!
and your layers panel will look like this
i think that covers what you asked, i hope it was understandable lol if you need more help don't hesitate to come back and ask again!
