WHOO I decided to give @canny-soup‘s stex oc questions a shot cuz!! why not!!!

1. What is their name and gender? What pronouns do they use?

Their name is Shunt! They’re amab, but figured out they were non-binary, so now they use gender neutral pronouns!

2. Are they a locomotive or a car/wagon? If they are a locomotive, what is their source of power?

A diesel-mechanical locomotive! They used to be a mainliner in their younger days, now they’re only working as a switcher

3. Who are their friends?

They‘ve managed to befriend almost all of the yard! They’re the closest to Poppa/Momma and the freight, and are fond over Rusty aswell as Greaseball. Somehow they also managed to get on the electric engines‘ good side

4. Do they have a favorite colour?

Greens, greens, nothing but greens!

5. Are they an extrovert, ambivert or introvert?

Extrovert, definitely! That hasn’t changed a bit over time

6. Do they have a favorite animal?

They absolutely adore buffaloes and couldn’t get enough of them every time they were in the usa for a race

7. What are their sleeping habits? Are they an early bird or a night owl?

You‘ll usually be able to catch them working at the unhealthiest hour, and often other sleepless engines will join them for company or even comfort, which they are happy to provide

8. What are three adjectives to describe them?

Protective, open, stubborn

9. Do they have a crush?

They‘ve been crushing on the old rambling steamer for a LONG time

10. How did you pick their name?

Listen I went full reverse on that and was like… they work as a shunter….. what if they were just called like that….. we can work on the angsty lore later…….. and then I ran with it (they earned this name after their crash, being reduced to the only job they were able to do)

11. What languages do they speak? Do they have an accent?

Bri‘ish at heart…

12. What reasons do others have to like them?

They learned to use their strenght to help others and they try to be very open with their feelings, offering emotional and physical support to anyone in need

13. What are their flaws?

At times they can be pushy, sometimes almost forcing others to confess their emotions and thus putting them in uncomfortable situations (they’re working on giving others more space, they really are), plus they can be really clingy

14. Do they have any pet peeves?

Being interrupted

15. Are they competitive? If they were in a race would they play fair or cheat?

They don’t usually rely on cheating, being of the opinion their own strengh and speed was enough to make it to the win. However, they are very competitive and love especially friendly fights, the more of them the better

16. Do they have any enemies/rivals? Who are they?

In the past they used to tend a heated rivalry with the other nationals, but as time passed they grew more and more calm and collected and worked on making it up to the others, befriending them at last

17. How do they react to a compliment? An insult?

They don’t get flustered easily when being complimented by people they aren’t close to, just like insults coming from strangers don’t grow on them. Compliments or insults coming from friends however-

18. What are their talents/hobbies?

They LOVE old people stuff. As stereotypical as it may seem, they enjoy spending their time outside, going on walks, sometimes stargazing with the youngsters, occasional knitting even! As for talents, they still are incredibly stronk and center most of their activities around it. They also make a great mechanic! Whenever wrench is unavailable or too busy, they can be called to lend a helping hand, or sometimes just an open ear

19. What do they often fail at? Why?

Due to heavily crashing in a race in the past, they still struggle physically sometimes, especially when it comes to speed-related tasks. Not that they would show that, of course

20. Why did you decide to make your OC?
