Summary:

It’s cold.

Viktor is normally cold to begin with. Since he was a young child, his circulation has been fucked, but it’s almost nothing compared to the icy, biting wind that’s slapping him in the face with each cautious step that he takes. Jayce isn't faring much better, and he's buried in just as many layers of clothing as Viktor is.

(Or: Jayce and Viktor get hit with an unexpected snowstorm while on a trip and have to find shelter to keep warm)

Got a piece for the 2022 Jayvik Gift Exchange! A western AU inspired by 3:10 to Yuma in which Viktor is an infamous outlaw, Jayce is a disillusioned marshal, and they have... a history.

“All they had free was the bridal suite,” Jayce said, helping Viktor up the stairs. “Hope it’s all right with you.”

Viktor dropped onto the quilted coverlet, not bothering to take his shoes off, and stretched his hands behind his head. Watching him examine the powder-blue ceiling, it was a little easier for Jayce to forget about the train to Tucson, not arriving for twelve hours or more.
